Die Versuchung Jesu

1 Darauf wurde Jesus vom Geist in die Wüste geführt, damit er vom Teufel^[1] versucht würde. (1Mo 3,15; 1Kön 19,8; Hes 1,20; Apg 8,29; Röm 8,24; Hebr 2,18)

2 Und als er 40 Tage und 40 Nächte gefastet hatte, war er zuletzt hungrig. (Lk 4,2) 3 Und der Versucher trat zu ihm und sprach: Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, so sprich, dass diese Steine Brot werden! 5 Darauf nimmt ihn der Teufel mit sich in die heilige Stadt und stellt ihn auf die Zinne des Tempels (Lk 4,9) 6 und spricht zu ihm: Wenn du Gottes Sohn bist, so stürze dich hinab; denn es steht geschrieben: »Er wird seinen Engeln deinetwegen Befehl geben, und sie werden dich auf den Händen tragen, damit du deinen Fuß nicht etwa an einen Stein stößt«.^[3] (Ps 91,11) 7 Da sprach Jesus zu ihm: Wiederum steht geschrieben: »Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, nicht versuchen!«^[4] (5Mo 6,16; Ps 95,9) 8 Wiederum nimmt ihn der Teufel mit auf einen sehr hohen Berg und zeigt ihm alle Reiche der Welt und ihre Herrlichkeit (Lk 4,5) 9 und spricht zu ihm: Dieses alles will ich dir geben, wenn du niederfällst und mich anbetest! 11 Da verließ ihn der Teufel; und siehe, Engel traten hinzu und dienten ihm. (Lk 22,43; Jak 4,7)

Der Beginn der Verkündigung Jesu in Galiläa

12 Als aber Jesus hörte, dass Johannes gefangen gesetzt worden war, zog er weg nach Galiläa. (Lk 3,20; Joh 3,24) 13 Und er verließ Nazareth, kam und ließ sich in Kapernaum nieder, das am See^[6] liegt, im Gebiet von Sebulon und Naphtali, (Jos 19,10; Mt 8,5; Mt 11,23; Lk 4,23; Joh 2,12)

17 Von da an begann Jesus zu verkündigen und zu sprechen: Tut Buße, denn das Reich der Himmel ist nahe herbeigekommen! (Mt 3,2; Mt 12,28; Mk 1,14)

Die Berufung der ersten Jünger

18 Als Jesus aber am See von Galiläa entlangging, sah er zwei Brüder, Simon, genannt Petrus, und dessen Bruder Andreas; die warfen das Netz in den See, denn sie waren Fischer. (Mt 16,17; Joh 1,40; Joh 21,3) 19 Und er spricht zu ihnen: Folgt mir nach, und ich will euch zu Menschenfischern machen! (Mt 8,22; Mt 9,9) 20 Da verließen sie sogleich die Netze und folgten ihm nach. (Gal 1,16) 21 Und als er von dort weiterging, sah er in einem Schiff zwei andere Brüder, Jakobus, den Sohn des Zebedäus, und dessen Bruder Johannes, mit ihrem Vater Zebedäus ihre Netze flicken; und er berief sie. Jesu Wirken in Galiläa

23 Und Jesus durchzog ganz Galiläa, lehrte in ihren Synagogen^[9] und verkündigte das Evangelium^[10] von dem Reich und heilte alle Krankheiten und alle Gebrechen im Volk. (Mk 1,39; Lk 7,22; Joh 18,20; Apg 10,38)

24 Und sein Ruf verbreitete sich in ganz Syrien; und sie brachten alle Kranken zu ihm, die von mancherlei Krankheiten und Schmerzen geplagt waren, und Besessene und Mondsüchtige und Lahme; und er heilte sie. (Mt 8,16; Mt 8,28; Mt 9,2; Mt 17,15; Mk 7,26)

25 Und es folgte ihm eine große Volksmenge nach aus Galiläa und aus dem Gebiet der Zehn Städte und aus Jerusalem und Judäa und von jenseits des Jordan. (Mk 3,7; Mk 5,20)

Jesus is tempted in the desert

1 The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert. There the devil tempted him. 2 After 40 days and 40 nights of going without eating, Jesus was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him. He said, ‘If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.’ 4 Jesus answered, ‘It is written, “Man must not live only on bread. He must also live on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” ’ (5Mo 8,3) 5 Then the devil took Jesus to the holy city. He had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 ‘If you are the Son of God,’ he said, ‘throw yourself down. It is written, ‘ “The Lord will command his angels to take good care of you. They will lift you up in their hands. Then you won’t trip over a stone.” ’ (Ps 91,11; Ps 91,12) 7 Jesus answered him, ‘It is also written, “Do not test the Lord your God.” ’ (5Mo 6,16) 8 Finally, the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain. Jesus begins to preach

12 John had been put in prison. When Jesus heard about this, he returned to Galilee. 13 Jesus left Nazareth and went to live in the city of Capernaum. It was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali. 14 In that way, what the prophet Isaiah had said came true. He had said, 15 ‘Land of Zebulun! Land of Naphtali! Galilee, where Gentiles live! Land along the Mediterranean Sea! Territory east of the River Jordan! 16 The people who are now living in darkness have seen a great light. They are now living in a very dark land. But a light has shone on them.’ (Jes 9,1; Jes 9,2) 17 From that time on Jesus began to preach. ‘Turn away from your sins!’ he said. ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’

Jesus chooses his first disciples

18 One day Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee. There he saw two brothers, Simon Peter and his brother Andrew. They were throwing a net into the lake, because they were fishermen. 19 ‘Come and follow me,’ Jesus said. ‘I will send you out to fish for people.’ 20 At once they left their nets and followed him. 21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers. They were James, son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee. As they were preparing their nets, Jesus called out to them. 22 Right away they left the boat and their father and followed Jesus.

Jesus heals ill people

23 Jesus went all over Galilee. There he taught in the synagogues. He preached the good news of God’s kingdom. He healed every illness and disease the people had. 24 News about him spread all over Syria. People brought to him all who were suffering different kinds of illnesses. Some were suffering great pain. Others were controlled by demons. Some were shaking wildly. Others couldn’t move at all. And Jesus healed all of them. 25 Large crowds followed him. People came from Galilee, from the area known as the Ten Cities, and from Jerusalem and Judea. Others came from the area across the River Jordan.
