Heilung eines Besessenen

1 Und sie kamen ans andere Ufer des Sees in das Gebiet der Gadarener. 2 Und als er aus dem Schiff gestiegen war, lief ihm sogleich aus den Gräbern ein Mensch mit einem unreinen Geist entgegen, 3 der seine Wohnung in den Gräbern hatte. Und selbst mit Ketten konnte niemand ihn binden, 4 denn schon oft war er mit Fußfesseln und Ketten gebunden worden, aber die Ketten wurden von ihm zerrissen und die Fußfesseln zerrieben; und niemand konnte ihn bändigen. (Mk 3,27) 5 Und er war allezeit, Tag und Nacht, auf den Bergen und in den Gräbern, schrie und schlug sich selbst mit Steinen. 6 Als er aber Jesus von ferne sah, lief er und warf sich vor ihm nieder, 7 schrie mit lauter Stimme und sprach: Jesus, du Sohn Gottes, des Höchsten, was habe ich mit dir zu tun? Ich beschwöre dich bei Gott, dass du mich nicht quälst! (Lk 8,28) 8 Denn Er sprach zu ihm: Fahre aus dem Menschen aus, du unreiner Geist! (Apg 16,18; Hebr 2,14; 1Joh 3,8) 9 Und er fragte ihn: Was ist dein Name? Und er antwortete und sprach: Legion ist mein Name; denn wir sind viele! (Mt 26,53; Mk 5,13; Mk 16,9) 10 Und er bat ihn sehr, sie nicht aus dem Land zu verweisen. 11 Es war aber dort an den Bergen eine große Herde Schweine zur Weide. 12 Und die Dämonen baten ihn alle und sprachen: Schicke uns in die Schweine, damit wir in sie fahren! 13 Und sogleich erlaubte es ihnen Jesus. Und die unreinen Geister fuhren aus und fuhren in die Schweine. Und die Herde stürzte sich den Abhang hinunter in den See. Es waren aber etwa 2 000, und sie ertranken im See. 14 Die Schweinehirten aber flohen und verkündeten es in der Stadt und auf dem Land. Und sie gingen hinaus, um zu sehen, was da geschehen war. (Mt 8,33) 15 Und sie kamen zu Jesus und sahen den Besessenen, der die Legion gehabt hatte, dasitzen, bekleidet und vernünftig; und sie fürchteten sich. (Jes 49,25; Mt 9,33; Mk 4,41) 16 Und die es gesehen hatten, erzählten ihnen, wie es mit dem Besessenen zugegangen war, und von den Schweinen. 17 Da begannen sie ihn zu bitten, er möge aus ihrem Gebiet weggehen. (1Kön 17,18; Hi 21,14; Lk 5,8) 18 Und als er in das Schiff trat, bat ihn der besessen Gewesene, dass er bei ihm bleiben dürfe. (Lk 8,2; Apg 3,11) 19 Aber Jesus ließ es ihm nicht zu, sondern sprach zu ihm: Geh in dein Haus, zu den Deinen, und verkündige ihnen, welch große Dinge der Herr an dir getan und wie er sich über dich erbarmt hat! (Ps 66,16; Jes 38,20; Mk 16,20) 20 Und er ging hin und fing an, im Gebiet der Zehn Städte zu verkündigen, welch große Dinge Jesus an ihm getan hatte; und jedermann verwunderte sich. 21 Und als Jesus im Schiff wieder ans jenseitige Ufer hinübergefahren war, versammelte sich eine große Volksmenge bei ihm; und er war am See. 22 Und siehe, da kam einer der Obersten der Synagoge, namens Jairus; und als er ihn erblickte, warf er sich ihm zu Füßen, 23 und er bat ihn sehr und sprach: Mein Töchterlein liegt in den letzten Zügen; komme doch und lege ihr die Hände auf, damit sie gesund wird und am Leben bleibt! 24 Und er ging mit ihm; und es folgte ihm eine große Menge nach, und sie bedrängten ihn. 25 Und da war eine gewisse Frau, die hatte seit zwölf Jahren den Blutfluss, (3Mo 15,25) 26 und sie hatte viel erlitten von vielen Ärzten und all ihr Gut aufgewendet, ohne dass es ihr geholfen hätte — es war vielmehr noch schlimmer mit ihr geworden. (Mt 14,36; Mk 3,10; Lk 6,19) 28 Denn sie sagte sich: Wenn ich nur sein Gewand anrühre, so werde ich geheilt! 29 Und sogleich vertrocknete der Quell ihres Blutes, und sie merkte es am Leib, dass sie von der Plage geheilt war. (Ps 30,3) 30 Jesus aber, der in sich selbst erkannt hatte, dass eine Kraft von ihm ausgegangen war, wandte sich sogleich inmitten der Menge um und sprach: Wer hat mein Gewand angerührt? (Lk 6,19) 31 Da sprachen seine Jünger zu ihm: Du siehst, wie das Volk dich drängt, und sprichst: Wer hat mich angerührt? 32 Und er sah sich um nach der, die das getan hatte. (Mk 5,25) 33 Aber die Frau kam mit Furcht und Zittern, weil sie wusste, was an ihr geschehen war, und warf sich vor ihm nieder und sagte ihm die ganze Wahrheit. (Jes 38,16; Mk 4,22; Joh 9,25) 34 Er aber sprach zu ihr: Tochter, dein Glaube hat dich gerettet! Geh hin im Frieden und sei von deiner Plage gesund! 35 Während er noch redete, kamen etliche von den Leuten des Obersten der Synagoge und sprachen: Deine Tochter ist gestorben, was bemühst du den Meister noch? (Joh 11,25) 36 Sobald aber Jesus das Wort hörte, das sie redeten, sprach er zum Obersten der Synagoge: Fürchte dich nicht, glaube nur! (Mk 9,23; Joh 11,40) 37 Und er ließ niemand mitgehen als Petrus und Jakobus und Johannes, den Bruder des Jakobus. (Mk 9,2; Mk 14,33) 38 Und er kommt in das Haus des Obersten der Synagoge und sieht das Getümmel, wie sehr sie weinten und heulten. 39 Und er geht hinein und spricht zu ihnen: Was lärmt ihr so und weint? Das Kind ist nicht gestorben, sondern es schläft! (Joh 11,11) 40 Und sie lachten ihn aus. Nachdem er aber alle hinausgetrieben hatte, nahm er den Vater und die Mutter des Kindes mit sich und die, welche bei ihm waren, und ging hinein, wo das Kind lag. 41 Und er ergriff die Hand des Kindes und sprach zu ihm: Talita kumi!, das heißt übersetzt: Mädchen, ich sage dir, steh auf! (Joh 5,21; Apg 9,40) 42 Und sogleich stand das Mädchen auf und ging umher; es war nämlich zwölf Jahre alt. Und sie gerieten außer sich vor Staunen. (Apg 3,10) 43 Und er gebot ihnen ernstlich, dass es niemand erfahren dürfe, und befahl, man solle ihr zu essen geben. (Lk 5,14)

1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. 2 And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, 3 Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: 4 Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. 5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. 6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, 7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. 8 For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. 9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. 10 And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. 11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. 12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. 13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. 14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. 15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. 16 And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. 17 And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts. 18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. 19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. 20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel. 21 And when Jesus was passed over again by ship unto the other side, much people gathered unto him: and he was nigh unto the sea. 22 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, 23 And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live. 24 And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him. 25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, 26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, 27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. 28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. 29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. 30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? 31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. 33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. 34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. 35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. 37 And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. 38 And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly. 39 And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. 40 And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. 41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. 42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment. 43 And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.
