Das Zeugnis Johannes des Täufers von Jesus Christus
15Johannes legte Zeugnis ab von ihm, rief und sprach: Dieser war es, von dem ich sagte: Der nach mir kommt, ist vor mir gewesen, denn er war eher als ich. (Mk 1,7; Joh 1,1; Joh 8,58)16Und aus seiner Fülle haben wir alle empfangen Gnade um Gnade. (Eph 1,7; Kol 1,19)17Denn das Gesetz wurde durch Mose gegeben; die Gnade und die Wahrheit ist durch Jesus Christus geworden. (Ps 85,10; Mal 3,22)18Niemand hat Gott je gesehen; der eingeborene[3] Sohn, der im Schoß des Vaters ist, der hat Aufschluss [über ihn] gegeben. (Mt 11,27; Joh 14,9; 1Tim 6,16)19Und dies ist das Zeugnis des Johannes, als die Juden von Jerusalem Priester und Leviten sandten, um ihn zu fragen: Wer bist du? Das Lamm Gottes
29Am folgenden Tag sieht Johannes Jesus[6] auf sich zukommen und spricht: Siehe, das Lamm Gottes, das die Sünde der Welt hinwegnimmt! (2Mo 29,38; Jes 53,7; Apg 13,38; 1Kor 5,7; Eph 1,7; Hebr 9,28; 1Joh 2,2; Offb 1,5; Offb 5,6)30Das ist der, von dem ich sagte: Nach mir kommt ein Mann, der vor mir gewesen ist; denn er war eher als ich. (Joh 1,15)31Und ich kannte ihn nicht; aber damit er Israel offenbar würde, darum bin ich gekommen, mit Wasser zu taufen. (Joh 1,7)32Und Johannes bezeugte und sprach: Ich sah den Geist wie eine Taube vom Himmel herabsteigen, und er blieb auf ihm. (Mk 1,10)33Und ich kannte ihn nicht; aber der mich sandte, mit Wasser zu taufen, der sprach zu mir: Der, auf den du den Geist herabsteigen und auf ihm bleiben siehst, der ist’s, der mit Heiligem Geist tauft. Die ersten Jünger
37Und die beiden Jünger hörten ihn reden und folgten Jesus nach. (Offb 14,4)38Als aber Jesus sich umwandte und sie nachfolgen sah, sprach er zu ihnen: Was sucht ihr? Sie sprachen zu ihm: Rabbi (das heißt übersetzt: »Lehrer«), wo wohnst du? (Ps 27,8; Jes 57,15; Joh 12,21)39Er spricht zu ihnen: Kommt und seht! Sie kamen und sahen, wo er wohnte, und blieben jenen Tag bei ihm. Es war aber um die zehnte Stunde.[7] (Jes 45,19; Joh 21,12)40Andreas, der Bruder des Simon Petrus, war einer von den beiden, die es von Johannes gehört hatten und ihm nachgefolgt waren. (Mk 1,16; Joh 6,8)41Dieser findet zuerst seinen Bruder Simon und spricht zu ihm: Wir haben den Messias gefunden (das heißt übersetzt: den »Gesalbten«).
