4 Wer sich nicht mit den Gefangenen beugen will, der muss mit den Erschlagenen fallen! — Bei alledem hat sich sein Zorn nicht abgewandt; seine Hand bleibt ausgestreckt. (Jes 9,11; Jer 15,2; Jer 43,11)

Gottes Gericht über den Hochmut von Assyrien

5 Wehe Assyrien, der Rute meines Zorns, der in seiner Hand den Stock meines Grimms trägt! (Jes 7,20; Jer 51,20; Hab 1,12) 6 Gegen eine gottlose Nation werde ich ihn senden, und gegen das Volk, dem ich zürne, will ich ihn aufbieten, damit er Beute macht und Raub holt und es zertritt wie Kot auf der Gasse! (Jes 8,4; Jes 30,9; Jes 36,1) 7 Aber er meint es nicht so, und sein Herz denkt nicht so, sondern er nimmt sich vor, Völker umzubringen und auszurotten, und zwar nicht wenige. 11 und wie ich es mit Samaria und ihren Götzen gemacht habe, sollte ich es nicht auch mit Jerusalem und ihren Götzenbildern so machen? Ein Überrest von Israel wird gerettet werden

20 Und es wird geschehen: An jenem Tag wird der Überrest Israels und das, was vom Haus Jakobs entkommen ist, sich nicht mehr auf den stützen, der ihn schlägt, sondern er wird sich in Wahrheit auf den HERRN verlassen, auf den Heiligen Israels. 1 Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression, (Ps 94,20; Jer 8,8) 2 to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey! Judgment on Arrogant Assyria

The Remnant of Israel Will Return
