1 Louvem o SENHOR! Ó minha alma, louva o SENHOR! 

2 Louvarei o SENHOR enquanto viver! Sim, durante todo o tempo da minha vida, cantarei louvores ao meu Deus. 

3 Não confiem nos grandes chefes, nem em homem algum; nenhum deles pode salvar seja quem for. 

4 Se o seu coração para de bater, o seu destino é irem para debaixo da terra; com eles morre, num instante, tudo o que planearam. 

5 Feliz aquele que é ajudado pelo Deus de Jacob, cuja esperança está no SENHOR, seu Deus. 

6 Ele fez o céu e a Terra, os mares e tudo o que neles existe, e cumpre todas as suas promessas. 

7 Deus faz justiça aos que vivem oprimidos, alimenta os que têm fome e liberta os prisioneiros. 

8 Abre os olhos aos cegos e levanta os abatidos; o SENHOR ama os que seguem a sua justiça. 

9 Protege os que vivem desterrados das suas pátrias; ampara os órfãos e as viúvas, mas frustrará os planos de gente perversa. 

10 O SENHOR dominará para sempre! O teu Deus, ó Sião, vive por toda a eternidade! Louvem o SENHOR!

Put Not Your Trust in Princes

1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! (Sl 135:1) 

2 I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. (Sl 63:4; Sl 104:33; Sl 145:2) 

3 Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. (Sl 60:11; Sl 108:12; Sl 118:8; Sl 118:9; Is 2:22; Jr 17:5) 

4 When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish. (Jó 10:9; Jó 34:14; Sl 104:29; Ec 12:7) 

5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, (Sl 2:12; Sl 119:116; Sl 144:15) 

6 who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, who keeps faith forever; (Sl 100:5; Sl 115:15; Sl 117:2) 

7 who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets the prisoners free; (Sl 68:6; Sl 103:6; Sl 105:20; Sl 107:9; Sl 145:15; Is 61:1) 

8 the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous. (Sl 11:7; Sl 145:14; Sl 147:6; Mt 9:30; Jo 9:7) 

9 The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin. (Ex 22:21; Ex 22:22; Dt 10:18; Sl 10:14; Sl 147:6) 

10 The Lord will reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord! (Sl 10:16; Sl 146:1)
