Psalm 92

Psalm 92

New International Reader’s Version

von Biblica
1 LORD, it is good to praise you. Most High God, it is good to make music to honour you.2 It is good to sing every morning about your love. It is good to sing every night about how faithful you are.3 I sing about it to the music of the lyre that has ten strings. I sing about it to the music of the harp.4 LORD, you make me glad by your deeds. I sing for joy about what you have done.5 LORD, how great are the things you do! How wise your thoughts are!6 Here is something that people without sense don’t know. Here is what foolish people don’t understand.7 Those who are evil spring up like grass. Those who do wrong succeed. But they will be destroyed for ever.8 But LORD, you are honoured for ever.9 LORD, your enemies will certainly die. All those who do evil will be scattered.10 You have made me as strong as a wild ox. You have poured the finest olive oil on me.11 I’ve seen my evil enemies destroyed. I’ve heard that they have lost the battle.12 Those who do what is right will grow like a palm tree. They will grow strong like a cedar tree in Lebanon.13 Their roots will be firm in the house of the LORD. They will grow strong and healthy in the courtyards of our God.14 When they get old, they will still bear fruit. Like young trees they will stay fresh and strong.15 They will say to everyone, ‘The LORD is honest. He is my Rock, and there is no evil in him.’

Psalm 92

English Standard Version

1 A Psalm. A Song for the Sabbath. It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; (1Mo 14,19; Ps 71,22; Ps 147,1)2 to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night, (Ps 36,5; Ps 119,147)3 to the music of the lute and the harp, to the melody of the lyre. (Ps 33,2)4 For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work; at the works of your hands I sing for joy. (Ps 8,6; Ps 90,16)5 How great are your works, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep! (Ps 36,6; Ps 40,5; Ps 111,2; Ps 139,17; Röm 11,33; Offb 15,3)6 The stupid man cannot know; the fool cannot understand this:7 that though the wicked sprout like grass and all evildoers flourish, they are doomed to destruction forever; (Hi 21,7; Ps 94,4; Ps 125,5)8 but you, O Lord, are on high forever. (Ps 93,4)9 For behold, your enemies, O Lord, for behold, your enemies shall perish; all evildoers shall be scattered. (Ps 68,1)10 But you have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox; you have poured over me[1] fresh oil. (4Mo 23,22; 1Sam 2,1; Ps 23,5; Ps 75,10)11 My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies; my ears have heard the doom of my evil assailants. (Ps 37,34; Ps 54,7)12 The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. (4Mo 24,6; Ps 1,3; Ps 52,8; Ps 72,7; Spr 11,28; Jes 61,3; Hos 14,5)13 They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God. (Ps 100,4; Ps 116,19; Ps 135,2)14 They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green,15 to declare that the Lord is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. (Hi 34,10; Ps 18,2; Ps 58,11)
