Hör doch, Jahwe, ich bitte um Recht! / Merk auf meine Klage! / Öffne dein Ohr für mein Gebet, / meine Lippen lügen nicht!2Von dir wird mein Freispruch kommen, / denn du siehst, dass ich aufrichtig bin.3Prüfst du mein Herz, suchst du mich heim in der Nacht, / forschst du mich aus: / Du findest nichts. / Ich habe über alles nachgedacht, / dass meinem Mund nichts ‹Böses› entschlüpft.4Ich halte mich an dein Wort im Treiben der Menschen / und hüte mich vor den Wegen der Gewalt.5Meine Schritte folgten deiner Spur / und kamen dabei nicht zu Fall.6Ich rufe dich an, mein Gott, / du hast eine Antwort für mich. / Hab doch ein offenes Ohr / und hör dir meine Worte an.7Lass die Wunder deiner Gnade sichtbar sein, / du Retter derer, die Schutz bei dir suchen, / Schutz durch deine Macht!8Schütze mich, wie man den Augapfel schützt! / Im Schatten deiner Flügel verstecke mich9vor den Gottlosen, die mir Gewalt antun, / meinen Feinden, die mich wütend umringen!10Ihr Herz ist ohne Mitgefühl, / ihr Mund überheblich und stolz.11Jetzt schleichen sie um unsere Schritte / und reißen uns gleich zu Boden, /12wie Löwen es mit ihrer Beute tun. / Wie junge Löwen lauern sie im Versteck.13Steh auf, Jahwe, und komm dem Verbrecher zuvor! / Zwing ihn zu Boden und rette mich mit deinem Schwert!14Rette mich vor diesen Leuten mit deiner Hand, Jahwe! / Ihr Los ist im Leben dieser Welt. / Gib ihnen, was sie verdienen und fülle ihren Bauch damit, / dass ihre Söhne genug davon haben und noch den Enkeln übrig bleibt.15Doch ich werde gerecht vor dir sein und sehe in dein Gesicht. / Und wenn ich einst erwache, will ich mich sattsehen an deiner Gestalt.
1LORD, hear me, because I ask for what is right. Listen to my cry for help. Hear my prayer. It doesn’t come from lips that tell lies.2When you hand down your sentence, may it be in my favour. May your eyes see what is right.3Look deep down into my heart. Study me carefully at night and test me. You won’t find anything wrong. I have planned nothing evil. My mouth has not said sinful things.4Though evil people tried to pay me to do wrong, I have not done what they wanted. Instead I have done what you commanded.5My steps have stayed on your paths. My feet have not slipped.6My God, I call out to you because you will answer me. Listen to me. Hear my prayer.7Show me the wonders of your great love. By using your great power, you save those who go to you for safety from their enemies.8Take good care of me, just as you would take care of your own eyes. Hide me in the shadow of your wings.9Save me from the sinful people who want to destroy me. Save me from my deadly enemies who are all around me.10They make their hearts hard and stubborn. Their mouths speak with pride.11They have tracked me down. They are all around me. Their eyes watch for a chance to throw me to the ground.12They are like a hungry lion, waiting to attack. They are like a powerful lion, hiding in the bushes.13LORD, rise up. Oppose them and bring them down. With your sword, save me from those evil people.14LORD, by your power save me from people like that. They belong to this world. They get their reward in this life. May what you have stored up for evil people fill their bellies. May their children’s stomachs be filled with it. And may there even be leftovers for their little ones.15You will show that I am right; I will enjoy your blessing. When I wake up, I will be satisfied because I will see you.

(Ps 62,4; Ps 89,51)12He is like a lion eager to tear, as a young lion lurking in ambush. (Ps 10,8)13Arise, O Lord! Confront him, subdue him! Deliver my soul from the wicked by your sword,14from men by your hand, O Lord, from men of the world whose portion is in this life.[2] You fill their womb with treasure;[3] they are satisfied with children, and they leave their abundance to their infants.
