1Das Wort Jahwes kam zu mir. Er sagte:2„Du Mensch, weissage Folgendes: 'So spricht Jahwe, der Herr:
Jammert und schreit: / O, welch ein Tag!3Denn nah ist der Tag, / nah der Tag Jahwes, / ein Tag dunkler Wolken. / Für die Völker hat die Stunde geschlagen.4Das Schwert dringt ein in Ägypten. / Zittern überfällt die Nubier, / wenn Ägypter erschlagen fallen / und wenn man ihre Schätze wegschleppt / und ihre Festungswerke zerstört.5Söldner aus Nubien, Libyen und Lydien und das ganze Völkergemisch, die Männer aus Kub und die Söhne aus dem Land meines Bundes werden mit ihnen durch das Schwert niedergemacht.'6So spricht Jahwe: 'Wer Ägypten unterstützt, wird fallen, und stürzen wird der Stolz seiner Macht. Von Migdol bis nach Assuan verfallen sie dem Schwert, spricht Jahwe, der Herr.7Ägypten wird zur Wüste werden mitten in verwüsteten Ländern, und seine Städte werden Trümmerhaufen sein.8Wenn ich Feuer an Ägypten lege und alle seine Unterstützer zerschmettert sind, wird man erkennen, dass ich Jahwe bin.9An jenem Tag schicke ich meine Boten auf Schiffen los, um das sichere Nubien aufzuschrecken. Ein Zittern überfällt sie am Gerichtstag Ägyptens. Passt auf! Genauso wird es kommen.'10So spricht Jahwe, der Herr: 'Ja, ich werde den Prunk Ägyptens wegschaffen lassen durch Nebukadnezzar, den König von Babylon.11Die gewalttätigsten Völker wird er gegen Ägypten heranführen. Sie werden ihre Schwerter gegen Ägypten ziehen, das Land verwüsten und es mit Erschlagenen füllen.12Ich werde den Nil und seine Arme trockenlegen und das Land in die Hand grausamer Menschen geben. Durch Fremde verwandle ich das blühende Land in eine Wüste. Das sage ich, Jahwe.'13So spricht Jahwe, der Herr: 'Ja, ich werde die Götzen vernichten! Verschwinden lasse ich die Nichtse aus Memphis![1] Ägypten soll keinen Herrscher mehr haben, und ich bringe Furcht in dieses Land.14Patros[2] werde ich verwüsten, und Zoan[3] brenne ich nieder. Ich vollstrecke das Gericht an Theben.[4]15Mein Zorn trifft Sin,[5] das Bollwerk Ägyptens, und den Prunk von Theben rotte ich aus.16Ich setze ganz Ägypten in Brand. Sin wird sich in Krämpfen winden, und Theben wird aufgebrochen sein. Memphis lebt in ständiger Angst.17Die jungen Männer aus Heliopolis und Bubastis[6] werden mit dem Schwert erschlagen, und die übrigen kommen in Gefangenschaft.18In Tachpanhes[7] wird der Tag sich verfinstern, wenn ich dort die Joche Ägyptens zerbreche und seine stolze Macht ein Ende hat. Eine dunkle Wolke wird es bedecken, und seine Tochterstädte müssen in die Gefangenschaft.19So werde ich mein Strafgericht an Ägypten vollziehen, damit man erkennt, dass ich Jahwe bin.'“20Am 7. April[8] im 11. Jahr unserer Verbannung kam das Wort Jahwes zu mir. Er sagte:21„Du Mensch, ich habe dem Pharao, dem König von Ägypten, den Arm gebrochen. Man hat ihn nicht geschient und nicht verbunden; man hat ihm keine Heilung gegönnt, die ihn wieder zu Kräften kommen und zum Schwert greifen ließe.22Darum spricht Jahwe, der Herr: Passt auf! Ich werde gegen den Pharao, den König von Ägypten, vorgehen. Ich breche ihm die Arme, auch den, der schon gebrochen ist, und lasse das Schwert seiner Hand entfallen.23Ich zerstreue die Ägypter unter die Völker, versprenge sie in fremde Länder.24Aber die Arme des Königs von Babylon mache ich stark und gebe ihm mein Schwert in die Hand. Die Arme des Pharao jedoch zerbreche ich, dass er wie ein zu Tode Getroffener sich vor ihm windet und stöhnt.25Ja, die Arme des Königs von Babylon mache ich stark, während die Arme des Pharao kraftlos herabfallen, damit man erkennt, dass ich Jahwe bin, wenn ich mein Schwert dem König von Babylon in die Hand gebe, damit er es gegen Ägypten gebraucht.26Ich zerstreue die Ägypter unter die Völker, versprenge sie in fremde Länder, damit man erkennt, dass ich Jahwe bin.“

(Hes 7,7; Hes 7,12; Hes 30,2; Hes 34,12; Joe 1,15; Joe 2,1; Zef 1,7)4A sword shall come upon Egypt, and anguish shall be in Cush, when the slain fall in Egypt, and her wealth[2] is carried away, and her foundations are torn down. (Jes 21,3; Jes 43,3; Hes 29,8; Hes 29,19; Hes 30,6)5Cush, and Put, and Lud, and all Arabia, and Libya,[3] and the people of the land that is in league,[4] shall fall with them by the sword. (Jer 25,20; Hes 27,10; Hes 30,4)6“Thus says the Lord: Those who support Egypt shall fall, and her proud might shall come down; from Migdol to Syene they shall fall within her by the sword, declares the Lord God. (Hes 29,10; Hes 30,18; Hes 32,21; Hes 33,28)7And they shall be desolated in the midst of desolated countries, and their cities shall be in the midst of cities that are laid waste. (Hes 29,12)8Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I have set fire to Egypt, and all her helpers are broken. (Hes 6,7; Hes 28,18; Hes 29,6; Hes 30,6)9“On that day messengers shall go out from me in ships to terrify the unsuspecting people of Cush, and anguish shall come upon them on the day of Egypt’s doom;[5] for, behold, it comes! (Jes 18,1; Hes 30,4)10“Thus says the Lord God: “I will put an end to the wealth of Egypt, by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. (Hes 29,19)11He and his people with him, the most ruthless of nations, shall be brought in to destroy the land, and they shall draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain. (Hes 28,7; Hes 30,4)12And I will dry up the Nile and will sell the land into the hand of evildoers; I will bring desolation upon the land and everything in it, by the hand of foreigners; I am the Lord; I have spoken. (Jes 19,4; Jes 19,5; Hes 17,24; Hes 28,7; Hes 29,3; Hes 29,10)13“Thus says the Lord God: “I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis; there shall no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt; so I will put fear in the land of Egypt. (Jes 19,13; Jes 19,16; Jer 43,12; Hes 29,15; Sach 10,11)14I will make Pathros a desolation and will set fire to Zoan and will execute judgments on Thebes. (4Mo 13,22; Jes 11,11; Jer 46,25; Hes 29,14; Hes 30,19)15And I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium, the stronghold of Egypt, and cut off the multitude[6] of Thebes.16And I will set fire to Egypt; Pelusium shall be in great agony; Thebes shall be breached, and Memphis shall face enemies[7] by day. (Hes 30,13)17The young men of On and of Pi-beseth shall fall by the sword, and the women[8] shall go into captivity.18At Tehaphnehes the day shall be dark, when I break there the yoke bars of Egypt, and her proud might shall come to an end in her; she shall be covered by a cloud, and her daughters shall go into captivity. (Jer 2,16; Jer 15,9; Hes 30,6; Am 8,9)19Thus I will execute judgments on Egypt. Then they will know that I am the Lord.” (Hes 6,7; Hes 30,14)
Egypt Shall Fall to Babylon
20In the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me: (Hes 20,1)21“Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and behold, it has not been bound up, to heal it by binding it with a bandage, so that it may become strong to wield the sword. (Jer 30,13; Jer 46,11; Jer 48,25; Hes 2,1)22Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt and will break his arms, both the strong arm and the one that was broken, and I will make the sword fall from his hand. (Hes 30,21)23I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them through the countries. (Hes 29,12)24And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a man mortally wounded. (Hi 24,12; Hes 21,3; Hes 30,10)25I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh shall fall. Then they shall know that I am the Lord, when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he stretches it out against the land of Egypt. (Hes 6,7; Hes 30,8)26And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations and disperse them throughout the countries. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”

От Мигдола на севере до Сиены на юге его жители будут падать от меча, – возвещает Владыка Вечный. –7Разорены они будут среди разорённых земель, города их будут стоять среди городов опустевших.8Тогда узнают, что Я – Вечный, когда Я предам Египет огню, и будут разбиты его помощники.9В тот день Мои вестники выйдут на кораблях, чтобы напугать беспечную Эфиопию. В день гибели Египта их охватит ужас, ведь он уже наступает!»10Так говорит Владыка Вечный: «Я уничтожу орды Египта рукой Навуходоносора, царя Вавилона.11Он и его народ – ужаснейший из народов – будут приведены, чтобы погубить страну. Они обнажат на Египет мечи и наполнят страну поражёнными.12Я осушу рукава Нила и продам страну злодеям; рукой чужеземцев Я опустошу землю и всё, что её наполняет. Я, Вечный, так сказал».13Так говорит Владыка Вечный: «Я уничтожу идолов и истреблю истуканы в Мемфисе[3]. В Египте больше не будет правителя; Я наведу на Египет страх.14Я предам разорению Верхний Египет, подожгу Цоан и покараю Фивы[4].15Ярость Свою изолью на Син, египетскую крепость, и погублю фиванские орды.16Я подожгу Египет, скорчится в муках Син. Враг возьмёт приступом Фивы и средь бела дня обрушится на Мемфис.17Юноши Гелиополя и Бубаста[5] падут от меча, а девушки отправятся в плен.18В Тахпанхесе померкнет день, когда Я сокрушу там ярмо Египта, и падёт его гордая мощь. Этот город покроет туча, и отправятся в плен жители его селений.19Я покараю Египет, и тогда узнают, что Я – Вечный».
Сокрушение мощи царя Египта
20В одиннадцатом году, в седьмой день первого месяца (29 апреля 587 г. до н. э.), было ко мне слово Вечного:21– Смертный, Я разгромил мощную руку фараона, царя Египта, и её не перевязали, чтобы исцелить, и не наложили повязку, чтобы она окрепла и могла вновь владеть мечом.22Поэтому так говорит Владыка Вечный: – Я – враг фараону, царю Египта. Я сломаю ему обе руки – и здоровую, и уже сломанную, так что он уронит свой меч.23Я рассею египтян среди других народов и развею их по чужим землям.24Я укреплю мышцы вавилонского царя и вложу Мой меч в его руку, а мышцы фараона разорву, и он будет стонать перед царём Вавилона, словно смертельно раненый.25Я укреплю мышцы вавилонского царя, а мышцы фараона ослабнут. Они узнают, что Я – Вечный, когда Я вложу Мой меч в руку царя Вавилона, и он занесёт его над Египтом.26Я рассею египтян среди других народов и развею их по чужим землям. Тогда они узнают, что Я – Вечный.
