Die Einsetzung Josuas

1 Mose fuhr fort und sagte zum ganzen Volk Israel: 

2 "Ich bin jetzt 120 Jahre alt und kann nicht mehr euer Anführer sein. Jahwe hat mir verboten, diesen Jordan zu überschreiten. 

3 Er selbst wird aber vor dir hinüberziehen und die Nationen vor dir vernichten, sodass du ihren Besitz übernehmen kannst. Josua wird euer Anführer sein, wie Jahwe es befohlen hat. 

4 Jahwe wird mit den Völkern dieses Landes genauso umgehen wie mit den Amoriterkönigen Sihon und Og, die er vernichtet hat. 

5 Und wenn Jahwe sie in eure Gewalt gibt, sollt ihr mit ihnen so verfahren, wie ich es euch befohlen habe. 

6 Seid stark und mutig, fürchtet euch nicht und erschreckt nicht vor ihnen! Es ist Jahwe, dein Gott, der mit dir geht. Er lässt dich nicht fallen und verlässt dich nicht." (Hebr 13,5) 

7 Mose rief Josua und sagte vor allen Israeliten zu ihm: "Sei stark und mutig! Denn du wirst mit diesem Volk in das Land kommen, das Jahwe ihren Vorfahren unter Eid zugesagt hat. Und du, du wirst es ihnen als Erbe austeilen. 

8 Jahwe selbst wird vor dir herziehen. Er wird mit dir sein, er lässt dich nicht fallen und verlässt dich nicht. Fürchte dich nicht und hab keine Angst!" 

Verlesung des Gesetzes im Sabbatjahr

9 Mose schrieb dieses ganze Gesetz auf und übergab es den Priestern, den Nachkommen Levis, die die Lade des Jahwe-Bundes trugen, und den Ältesten Israels. 

10 Mose befahl ihnen: "Alle sieben Jahre, im Erlassjahr beim Laubhüttenfest, 

11 wenn ganz Israel vor Jahwe, deinem Gott, an dem Ort erscheint, den er auswählen wird, sollt ihr dieses Gesetz öffentlich vorlesen! 

12 Ruft dazu das ganze Volk zusammen, Männer, Frauen und Kinder, auch die Fremden an euren Orten, damit sie hören und lernen und vor Jahwe, eurem Gott, Ehrfurcht haben und damit sie alle Bestimmungen dieses Gesetzes genau beachten. 

13 Auch ihre Kinder, die dieses Gesetz noch nicht kennen, sollen zuhören, damit sie Ehrfurcht vor Jahwe, eurem Gott, haben, solange ihr in dem Land lebt, das ihr jetzt in Besitz nehmen werdet, wenn ihr über den Jordan gezogen seid." 

Gottes Befehl zum Schreiben des Moseliedes

14 Jahwe sagte dann zu Mose: "Deine Zeit ist gekommen. Du wirst jetzt bald sterben. Rufe Josua und komm mit ihm zum Offenbarungszelt, damit ich ihm meine Befehle erteile." Mose und Josua gingen hin und traten ins Zelt. 

15 Da erschien Jahwe im Offenbarungszelt in einer Wolkensäule. Die Wolkensäule stand über dem Eingang des Zeltes. 

16 Jahwe sagte zu Mose: "Du wirst jetzt bald mit deinen Vorfahren vereint sein. Und dieses Volk wird sich in dem Land, in das es kommt, auflehnen. Und wie eine Hure wird es sich den fremden Göttern anbieten. Es wird mich verlassen und den Bund, den ich mit ihnen geschlossen habe, brechen. 

17 Dann wird mein Zorn gegen sie losbrechen. Ich werde sie verlassen und mich vor ihnen verbergen. Sie werden anderen zum Fraß sein und von schweren Unglücksfällen und Not getroffen werden. Dann werden sie sagen: 'Hat uns nicht all das Unglück getroffen, weil unser Gott nicht mehr unter uns ist?' 

18 Doch ich werde mich an diesem Tag völlig vor ihnen verbergen, weil sie so viel Böses getan und sich anderen Göttern zugewandt haben. 

19 Schreibt euch nun dieses Lied auf und lehrt es die Israeliten! Sie sollen es lernen, damit das Lied ein Zeuge für mich gegen die Israeliten sein wird. 

20 Denn ich werde sie in das Land bringen, das von Milch und Honig überfließt, wie ich es ihren Vorfahren geschworen habe. Sie werden sich satt essen und fett werden. Und dann werden sie sich anderen Göttern zuwenden und ihnen dienen. Mich werden sie verwerfen und meinen Bund brechen. 

21 Wenn sie dann von schweren Unglücksfällen und Not getroffen sind, soll dieses Lied als Zeuge gegen sie aussagen, denn es wird auch von ihren Nachkommen nicht vergessen werden. Ich weiß ja, wonach ihnen schon heute der Sinn steht, noch ehe ich sie in das Land gebracht habe, das ich ihnen versprach." 

22 Damals schrieb Mose dieses Lied auf und brachte es den Israeliten bei. 

23 Und Jahwe sagte zu Josua Ben-Nun: "Sei stark und mutig! Denn du wirst die Israeliten in das Land bringen, das ich ihnen unter Eid versprach. Ich werde mit dir sein!" 

Gesetzbuch und Lied als Zeugen gegen das Volk

24 Als Mose alle Worte des Gesetzes fertig aufgeschrieben hatte, 

25 befahl er den Leviten, die die Lade des Bundes mit Jahwe trugen: 

26 "Legt dieses Buch mit dem Gesetz neben die Lade des Bundes, den Jahwe mit uns geschlossen hat, damit es ein Zeuge gegen euch Israeliten ist. 

27 Denn ich kenne euren Ungehorsam und eure Sturheit sehr wohl. Seht, heute schon, wo ich noch unter euch lebe, habt ihr euch Jahwe widersetzt, wie viel mehr nach meinem Tod? 

28 Ruft eure Stammesführer und eure Aufseher hier vor mir zusammen, dass ich ihnen diese Worte verkünde und den Himmel und die Erde als Zeugen gegen sie aufrufe! 

29 Denn ich weiß, dass ihr nach meinem Tod ins Verderben stürzen und von dem Weg abweichen werdet, den ich euch vorgeschrieben habe. Am Ende wird euch das Unglück treffen, weil ihr Böses vor Jahwe tun werdet und ihn durch euer Machwerk zornig macht." 

30 Dann las Mose vor der ganzen Versammlung Israels folgendes Lied bis zum Ende vor:

خلافة يشوع لموسى

1 وَمَضَى مُوسَى يَقُولُ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ: 

2 «أَنَا الْيَوْمَ قَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ الْعُمْرِ مِئَةً وَعِشْرِينَ سَنَةً، وَصِرْتُ عَاجِزاً عَنْ قِيَادَتِكُمْ. وَقَدْ قَالَ الرَّبُّ لِي: لَنْ تَعْبُرَ هَذَا الأُرْدُنَّ. 

3 وَلَكِنَّ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمْ عَابِرٌ أَمَامَكُمْ، وَهُوَ يُبِيدُ تِلْكَ الأُمَمَ مِنْ قُدَّامِكُمْ فَتَرِثُونَهُمْ. وَسَيَكُونُ يَشُوعُ قَائِدَكُمْ كَمَا وَعَدَ الرَّبُّ. 

4 سَيَصْنَعُ الرَّبُّ بِهِمْ كَمَا صَنَعَ بِسِيحُونَ وَعُوجَ مَلِكَيِ الأَمُورِيِّينَ وَبِأَرْضِهِمَا وَأَبَادَهُمَا. 

5 فَمَتَى أَخْضَعَهُمُ الرَّبُّ لَكُمْ فَافْعَلُوا بِهِمْ بِمُوْجِبِ جَمِيعِ الْوَصَايَا الَّتِي أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِها. 

6 تَقَوَّوْا وَتَشَجَّعُوا. لَا تَخْشَوْهُمْ وَلا تَجْزَعُوا مِنْهُمْ، لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ إِلَهَكُمْ سَائِرٌ مَعَكُمْ، لَا يُهْمِلُكُمْ وَلا يَتْرُكُكُمْ». 

7 فَاسْتَدْعَى مُوسَى يَشُوعَ وَقَالَ لَهُ أَمَامَ جَمِيعِ إِسْرَائِيلَ: «تَقَوَّ وَتَشَجَّعْ، لأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ مَاضٍ مَعَ هَذَا الشَّعْبِ إِلَى الأَرْضِ الَّتِي حَلَفَ الرَّبُّ لِآبَائِهِمْ أَنْ يَهَبَهَا لَهُمْ، وَأَنْتَ تُوَزِّعُهَا عَلَيْهِمْ. 

8 هُوَذَا الرَّبُّ يَتَقَدَّمُكَ، هُوَ يَكُونُ مَعَكَ، لَا يُهْمِلُكَ وَلا يَتْرُكُكَ. لِذَلِكَ لَا تَخَفْ وَلا تَرْتَعِبْ».

9 وَكَتَبَ مُوسَى كَلِمَاتِ هَذِهِ التَّوْرَاةِ وَسَلَّمَهَا لِلْكَهَنَةِ بَنِي لاوِي حَامِلِي تَابُوتِ عَهْدِ الرَّبِّ وَإِلَى سَائِرِ شُيُوخِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. 

10 وَأَمَرَهُمْ مُوسَى قَائِلاً: «فِي خِتَامِ السَّبْعِ السَّنَوَاتِ، فِي مِيعَادِ سَنَةِ الإِبْرَاءِ مِنَ الدُّيُونِ، فِي عِيدِ الْمَظَالِّ 

11 عِنْدَمَا يَجْتَمِعُ جَمِيعُ الإِسْرَائِيلِيِّينَ لِلْعِبَادَةِ أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ فِي الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي يَخْتَارُهُ، تَتْلُونَ نُصُوصَ هَذِهِ التَّوْرَاةِ فِي مَسَامِعِهِمْ. 

12 اجْمَعُوا الشَّعْبَ رِجَالاً وَنِسَاءً وَأَطْفَالاً، وَالْغُرَبَاءَ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي مُدُنِكُمْ لِيَسْمَعُوا وَيَتَعَلَّمُوا تَقْوَى الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ، وَيَحْرِصُوا عَلَى الْعَمَلِ بِجَمِيعِ نُصُوصِ هَذِهِ التَّوْرَاةِ. 

13 وَكَذَلِكَ لِيَسْمَعَ أَوْلادُهُمُ الشَّرِيعَةَ الَّتِي لَمْ يَعْرِفُوهَا، لِيَتَعَلَّمُوا تَقْوَى الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ طَوَالَ الأَيَّامِ الَّتِي يَعِيشُونَهَا عَلَى الأَرْضِ الَّتِي أَنْتُمْ عَابِرُونَ نَهْرَ الأُرْدُنِّ إِلَيْهَا لِتَرِثُوهَا».

14 وَكَانَ الرَّبُّ قَدْ قَالَ لِمُوسَى: «هَا أَنْتَ قَدْ أَوْشَكْتَ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ، وَأَيَّامُ حَيَاتِكَ بَاتَتْ مَعْدُودَةً. فَادْعُ يَشُوعَ، وَقِفَا كِلاكُمَا عِنْدَ خَيْمَةِ الاجْتِمَاعِ لِكَيْ أُوصِيَهُ». فَمَضَى مُوسَى وَيَشُوعُ وَمَثَلا عِنْدَ خَيْمَةِ الاجْتِمَاعِ. 

15 فَتَجَلَّى الرَّبُّ فِي الْخَيْمَةِ، فِي سَحَابَةٍ. وَوَقَفَتِ السَّحَابَةُ عِنْدَ بَابِ الْخَيْمَةِ. 

16 وَقَالَ الرَّبُّ لِمُوسَى: «مَا إِنْ تَمُوتُ وَتَلْحَقُ بِآبَائِكَ حَتَّى يُسْرِعَ هَذَا الشَّعْبُ وَيَفْجُرَ وَرَاءَ آلِهَةِ الْغُرَبَاءِ الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي الأَرْضِ الَّتِي هُوَ دَاخِلٌ إِلَيْهَا فِي وَسَطِهِمْ، وَيَتَخَلَّى عَنِّي وَيَنْكُثَ عَهْدِي الَّذِي أَبْرَمْتُهُ مَعَهُ، 

17 فَيَحْتَدِمُ غَضَبِي عَلَيْهِ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ، وَأَنْبِذُهُ وَأَحْجُبُ وَجْهِي عَنْهُ، فَيَكُونُ فَرِيسَةً. وَتَلْحَقُ بِهِ شُرُورٌ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمَصَائِبُ، حَتَّى يَقُولَ: أَلَيْسَ لأَنَّ إِلَهِي قَدْ هَجَرَنِي، قَدْ أَصَابَتْنِي هَذِهِ الشُّرُورُ؟ 

18 وَأَحْجُبُ وَجْهِي عَنْهُمْ مِنْ أَجْلِ جَمِيعِ مَا ارْتَكَبُوهُ مِنْ شُرُورٍ، إِذْ سَعَوْا وَرَاءَ آلِهَةٍ أُخْرَى. 

19 فَالآنَ دَوِّنُوا لأَنْفُسِكُمْ هَذَا النَّشِيدَ وَعَلِّمُوهُ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. ضَعُوهُ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ لِيَكُونَ هَذَا النَّشِيدُ شَهَادَةً عَلَيْهِمْ. 

20 لأَنِّي حَالَمَا أُدْخِلُهُمْ إِلَى الأَرْضِ الَّتِي تَفِيضُ لَبَناً وَعَسَلاً، هَذِهِ الأَرْضِ الَّتِي حَلَفْتُ أَنْ تَكُونَ لِآبَائِهِمْ، فَيَأْكُلُونَ وَيَشْبَعُونَ وَيَسْمَنُونَ، فَإِنَّهُمْ يَسْعَوْنَ وَرَاءَ آلِهَةٍ أُخْرَى وَيَعْبُدُونَهَا وَيَزْدَرُونَ بِي نَاقِضِينَ عَهْدِي. 

21 فَمَتَى حَلَّتْ بِهِمْ شُرُورٌ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمَصَائِبُ جَمَّةٌ، يَشْهَدُ هَذَا النَّشِيدُ عَلَيْهِمْ، لأَنَّهُ سَيَظَلُّ يَتَرَدَّدُ عَلَى أَفْوَاهِ ذُرِّيَّتِهِمْ، إِذْ إِنَّنِي عَالِمٌ بِخَوَاطِرِهِمِ الَّتِي تَدُورُ بِخَلَدِهِمِ الآنَ قَبْلَ أَنْ أُدْخِلَهُمْ إِلَى الأَرْضِ كَمَا حَلَفْتُ». 

22 فَكَتَبَ مُوسَى هَذَا النَّشِيدَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ، وَعَلَّمَهُ لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. 

23 وَأَوْصَى الرَّبُّ يَشُوعَ بْنَ نُونَ قَائِلاً: «تَقَوَّ وَتَشَجَّعْ، لأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ تُدْخِلُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِلَى الأَرْضِ الَّتِي أَقْسَمْتُ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا، وَأَنَا أَكُونُ مَعَكَ». 

24 وَعِنْدَمَا أَتَمَّ مُوسَى تَدْوِينَ نُصُوصِ هَذِهِ التَّوْرَاةِ كَامِلَةً فِي كِتَابٍ، 

25 أَمَرَ اللّاوِيِّينَ حَامِلِي تَابُوتِ عَهْدِ الرَّبِّ قَائِلاً: 

26 «خُذُوا كِتَابَ التَّوْرَاةِ هَذَا وَضَعُوهُ إِلَى جِوَارِ تَابُوتِ عَهْدِ الرَّبِّ إِلَهِكُمْ، لِيَكُونَ هُنَاكَ شَاهِداً عَلَيْكُمْ، 

27 لأَنِّي أَعْرِفُ تَمَرُّدَكُمْ وَقَسَاوَةَ قُلُوبِكُمْ. إِذْ وَأَنَا مَازِلْتُ حَيًّا مَعَكُمُ الْيَوْمَ أَخَذْتُمْ فِي مُقَاوَمَةِ الرَّبِّ. فَكَمْ بِالأَحْرَى تَتَمَرَّدُونَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِي؟ 

28 اِجْمَعُوا إِلَيَّ جَمِيعَ شُيُوخِ أَسْبَاطِكُمْ وَعُرَفَاءَكُمْ، لأَتْلُوَ عَلَى مَسَامِعِهِمْ هَذِهِ الْكَلِمَاتِ، وَأُشْهِدَ عَلَيْهِمِ السَّمَاءَ وَالأَرْضَ. 

29 لأَنَّنِي وَاثِقٌ أَنَّكُمْ بَعْدَ مَوْتِي تَفْسَدُونَ وَتَضِلُّونَ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ الَّتِي أَوْصَيْتُكُمْ بِها، فَيُصِيبُكُمُ الشَّرُّ فِي آخِرِ الأَيَّامِ، لأَنَّكُمْ تَقْتَرِفُونَ الشَّرَّ أَمَامَ الرَّبِّ حَتَّى تُثِيرُوا غَيْظَهُ بِمَا تَجْنِيهِ أَيْدِيكُمْ.»

30 فَتَلا مُوسَى فِي مَسَامِعِ كُلِّ جَمَاعَةِ إِسْرَائِيلَ كُلَّ كَلِمَاتِ أَبْيَاتِ هَذَا النَّشِيدِ.

Joshua to Succeed Moses

1 So Moses continued to speak these words to all Israel. 

2 And he said to them, “I am 120 years old today. I am no longer able to go out and come in. The Lord has said to me, ‘You shall not go over this Jordan.’ (2Mo 7,7; 4Mo 27,17; 5Mo 1,37; 5Mo 3,27; 5Mo 34,7) 

3 The Lord your God himself will go over before you. He will destroy these nations before you, so that you shall dispossess them, and Joshua will go over at your head, as the Lord has spoken. (4Mo 27,18; 4Mo 27,21; 5Mo 1,38; 5Mo 3,28; 5Mo 9,3) 

4 And the Lord will do to them as he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, and to their land, when he destroyed them. (4Mo 21,21; 4Mo 21,33; 5Mo 2,31; 5Mo 3,1) 

5 And the Lord will give them over to you, and you shall do to them according to the whole commandment that I have commanded you. (5Mo 7,2) 

6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” (5Mo 20,4; 5Mo 31,23; Jos 1,5; Jos 1,6; Jos 10,25; 1Chr 22,13; 1Chr 28,20) 

7 Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. (5Mo 3,28; 5Mo 31,6) 

8 It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” (2Mo 13,21; 5Mo 1,21; 5Mo 7,18; 5Mo 31,6; Jos 1,9; Jos 8,1; Jos 10,25) 

The Reading of the Law

9 Then Moses wrote this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel. (4Mo 4,15; 5Mo 17,18; Jos 3,3; Jos 8,33; 1Chr 15,15) 

10 And Moses commanded them, “At the end of every seven years, at the set time in the year of release, at the Feast of Booths, (3Mo 23,34; 5Mo 15,1) 

11 when all Israel comes to appear before the Lord your God at the place that he will choose, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. (2Mo 23,14; 2Mo 23,17; 2Mo 34,23; 5Mo 16,16; Jos 8,34; 2Kön 23,2; Neh 8,1) 

12 Assemble the people, men, women, and little ones, and the sojourner within your towns, that they may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God, and be careful to do all the words of this law, (5Mo 4,10) 

13 and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as you live in the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess.” (5Mo 4,10; 5Mo 11,2; Ps 78,5) 

Joshua Commissioned to Lead Israel

14 And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, the days approach when you must die. Call Joshua and present yourselves in the tent of meeting, that I may commission him.” And Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tent of meeting. (4Mo 27,13; 4Mo 27,19; 5Mo 31,23; 5Mo 34,5) 

15 And the Lord appeared in the tent in a pillar of cloud. And the pillar of cloud stood over the entrance of the tent. (2Mo 33,9; 4Mo 12,5) 

16 And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, you are about to lie down with your fathers. Then this people will rise and whore after the foreign gods among them in the land that they are entering, and they will forsake me and break my covenant that I have made with them. (2Mo 34,15; 3Mo 20,5; 4Mo 15,39; 5Mo 31,14; 5Mo 32,15; Ri 2,12; Ri 2,20; Ri 10,6; Ri 10,13) 

17 Then my anger will be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them and hide my face from them, and they will be devoured. And many evils and troubles will come upon them, so that they will say in that day, ‘Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?’ (4Mo 14,42; 5Mo 32,20; Ri 6,13; 2Chr 12,5; 2Chr 15,2; 2Chr 24,20; Ps 30,7; Ps 104,29; Jes 8,17; Jes 59,2; Jes 64,7) 

18 And I will surely hide my face in that day because of all the evil that they have done, because they have turned to other gods. (5Mo 31,20) 

19 “Now therefore write this song and teach it to the people of Israel. Put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the people of Israel. (5Mo 31,21; 5Mo 31,26; 5Mo 32,1; 2Sam 1,18) 

20 For when I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I swore to give to their fathers, and they have eaten and are full and grown fat, they will turn to other gods and serve them, and despise me and break my covenant. (2Mo 3,8; 4Mo 14,11; 4Mo 14,23; 4Mo 16,30; 5Mo 31,16; 5Mo 31,18; 5Mo 32,15; Neh 9,25; Jer 5,28; Hos 13,6) 

21 And when many evils and troubles have come upon them, this song shall confront them as a witness (for it will live unforgotten in the mouths of their offspring). For I know what they are inclined to do even today, before I have brought them into the land that I swore to give.” (5Mo 31,19; 5Mo 31,26; Hos 5,3; Hos 13,5) 

22 So Moses wrote this song the same day and taught it to the people of Israel. 

23 And the Lord commissioned Joshua the son of Nun and said, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall bring the people of Israel into the land that I swore to give them. I will be with you.” (5Mo 31,6; 5Mo 31,8; 5Mo 31,14; Jos 1,5; Jos 3,7) 

24 When Moses had finished writing the words of this law in a book to the very end, (5Mo 31,9) 

25 Moses commanded the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, (5Mo 31,9) 

26 “Take this Book of the Law and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against you. (5Mo 31,19; 5Mo 31,21; 2Kön 22,8)

1 Муса пошёл и сказал всему Исраилу такие слова: 

2 – Мне уже сто двадцать лет, и я не могу больше вести вас. Вечный сказал мне: «Ты не перейдёшь через Иордан». 

3 Вечный, ваш Бог, Сам перейдёт реку перед вами. Он истребит эти народы перед вами, и вы овладеете их землёй. Иешуа также перейдёт с вами, как сказал Вечный. 

4 И Вечный сделает с этими народами то же, что Он сделал с Сигоном и Огом, царями аморреев, которых Он погубил вместе с их землёй. 

5 Вечный отдаст их вам, и вы должны сделать с ними всё, что я повелел вам. 

6 Будьте тверды и мужественны. Не бойтесь и не страшитесь их, потому что Вечный, ваш Бог, идёт с вами; Он никогда вас не оставит и не покинет. 

7 Затем Муса призвал Иешуа и сказал ему в присутствии всего Исраила: – Будь твёрд и мужествен, потому что ты должен идти с этим народом в землю, которую Вечный клялся дать его предкам, и должен разделить её им в наследие. 

8 Вечный Сам пойдёт перед тобой и будет с тобой; Он никогда тебя не оставит и не покинет. Не бойся, не будь малодушным. 

Чтение Закона

9 Муса записал этот Закон и дал его священнослужителям, потомкам Леви, которые носили сундук соглашения с Вечным, и всем старейшинам Исраила. 

10 Затем Муса повелел им: – Раз в семь лет, в год прощения долгов, на празднике Шалашей, 

11 когда Исраил приходит, чтобы предстать перед Вечным, вашим Богом, на место, которое Он выберет, читайте этот Закон вслух перед всем Исраилом. 

12 Соберите народ – мужчин, женщин, и детей, и чужеземцев, живущих в ваших городах, – чтобы они слушали и учились бояться Вечного, вашего Бога, и прилежно следовать всем словам этого Закона. 

13 Их дети, которые не знают этого Закона, должны слушать его и учиться бояться Вечного, вашего Бога, всё время, пока вы будете жить на земле, куда вы переходите за Иордан, чтобы завладеть ею. 

Предсказание о мятеже Исраила

14 Вечный сказал Мусе: – День твоей смерти близок. Позови Иешуа, встаньте у шатра встречи, и там Я дам ему наставления. Муса и Иешуа пришли и встали у шатра встречи. 

15 Тогда Вечный явился у шатра встречи в облачном столбе, и облако встало над входом в шатёр. 

16 Вечный сказал Мусе: – Скоро ты отойдёшь к своим предкам, а этот народ станет распутничать с чужими богами, богами той земли, куда он входит. Он оставит Меня и нарушит священное соглашение, которое Я с ним заключил. 

17 В тот день Я разгневаюсь и оставлю его; Я скрою от него Своё лицо, и он будет уничтожен. Множество бедствий и тягот постигнет его, и в тот день он спросит: «Не потому ли постигли меня эти бедствия, что мой Бог не со мной?» 

18 Я же непременно скрою Своё лицо в тот день из-за всего нечестия, которое он совершит, обратившись к другим богам. 

19 Итак, запишите себе эту песню. Научи ей исраильтян и прикажи им петь её, чтобы она была свидетельством за Меня против них. 

20 Когда Я приведу их в землю, где течёт молоко и мёд, землю, которую Я с клятвой обещал их предкам, и когда они будут есть досыта и разжиреют, они обратятся к другим богам и станут служить им, отвергая Меня и нарушая Моё священное соглашение. 

21 И когда множество бедствий и тягот постигнут их, эта песня будет свидетельствовать против них, потому что их потомки её не забудут. Я знаю, к чему они расположены уже сейчас, ещё до того, как Я ввёл их в землю, о которой клялся им. 

22 В тот день Муса записал эту песню и научил ей исраильтян. 

23 Вечный дал Иешуа, сыну Нуна, такое повеление: – Будь твёрд и мужествен, потому что ты введёшь исраильтян в землю, которую Я с клятвой обещал им, и Сам Я буду с тобой. 

24 Записав в свиток слова этого Закона от начала до конца, 

25 Муса дал левитам, которые носили сундук соглашения с Вечным, такое повеление: 

26 – Возьмите этот свиток Закона и положите его рядом с сундуком соглашения с Вечным, вашим Богом. Свиток будет находиться там как свидетельство против вас. 

27 Я ведь знаю, как вы мятежны и упрямы. Если вы мятежны перед Вечным, пока я ещё жив и с вами, то что же будет после моей смерти! 

28 Соберите ко мне всех старейшин ваших родов и всех ваших начальников, чтобы я мог сказать им вслух эти слова и призвать небо и землю свидетельствовать против них. 

29 Я ведь знаю, что после моей смерти вы непременно развратитесь и свернёте с пути, держаться которого я вам повелел. В будущем вас постигнет бедствие, потому что вы будете делать зло в глазах Вечного и разгневаете Его делами своих рук.

30 Муса произнёс слова этой песни от начала до конца вслух всего народа Исраила:
