1 Genau am dritten Neumondtag nach ihrem Auszug aus Ägypten erreichten die Israeliten die Wüste Sinai. 2 Sie waren von Refidim aufgebrochen und schlugen nun ihr Lager in der Wüste, dem Berg gegenüber, auf. 3 Mose stieg hinauf, um Gott zu begegnen. Da rief ihm Jahwe vom Berg aus zu: „Sage es den Nachkommen Jakobs, rede zu den Israeliten: 4 Ihr habt selbst gesehen, was ich mit den Ägyptern gemacht habe. Ihr habt erlebt, dass ich euch wie auf Adlerflügeln getragen und bis hierher zu mir gebracht habe. 5 Wenn ihr nun auf mich hört und meinen Bund haltet, dann sollt ihr unter allen Völkern mein persönliches Eigentum sein. Denn mir gehört die ganze Erde. 6 Ihr sollt mir ein Königsvolk von Priestern sein, eine heilige Nation!'^[1] Das sollst du den Israeliten sagen!“ (1Petr 2,9) 7 Da ging Mose zurück und rief die Ältesten des Volkes zusammen. Er legte ihnen vor, was Jahwe ihm aufgetragen hatte. 8 Das ganze Volk war sich einig: „Wir wollen alles tun, was Jahwe gesagt hat!“ Mose ging, um Jahwe die Antwort des Volkes zu überbringen. 9 Jahwe sagte zu ihm: „Pass auf! Ich werde in einer dichten Wolke zu dir kommen, damit das Volk es hören kann, wenn ich mit dir rede, und damit sie dir immer glauben.“ Nun teilte Mose Jahwe die Antwort des Volkes mit. 10 Dann sagte Jahwe zu Mose: „Geh zum Volk und sorge dafür, dass sie sich heute und morgen auf die Begegnung mit mir vorbereiten!^[2] Sie sollen ihre Gewänder waschen, 11 damit sie für den dritten Tag bereit sind. Denn am dritten Tag wird Jahwe vor den Augen des ganzen Volkes auf den Berg Sinai herabsteigen. 12 Du musst das Volk ringsum abgrenzen und ihnen einschärfen: 'Nehmt euch in Acht! Steigt nicht auf den Berg, kommt nicht einmal an seinen Fuß!' Jeder, der den Berg antastet, muss getötet werden. 13 Keine Hand darf ihn berühren! Und wer es dennoch tut, darf nicht am Leben bleiben! Er muss mit Steinen erschlagen oder mit Pfeilen erschossen werden, ganz egal ob Mensch oder Tier.^[3] Erst wenn das Widderhorn anhaltend dröhnt, dürfen sie auf den Berg steigen.“ (Hebr 12,20) 14 Mose stieg wieder zum Volk hinunter und ordnete an, dass die Leute ihre Gewänder wuschen und sich darauf vorbereiteten, Gott zu begegnen. 15 Er sagte zu ihnen: „Haltet euch für den dritten Tag bereit! Bis dahin darf niemand mit seiner Frau schlafen!“ 16 Im Morgengrauen des dritten Tages begann es zu donnern und zu blitzen. Eine schwere Wolke lag auf dem Berg, und das überlaute Dröhnen eines Schofar-Horns^[4] war zu hören. Das Volk im Lager zitterte vor Angst. 17 Doch Mose führte es aus dem Lager hinaus, Gott entgegen. Am Fuß des Berges stellten sie sich auf. 18 Der ganze Berg Sinai war in dichten Rauch gehüllt, weil Jahwe im Feuer auf ihn herabgekommen war. Rauch stieg von ihm auf wie von einem Schmelzofen. Der ganze Berg wurde von einem gewaltigen Beben geschüttelt. 19 Das Dröhnen des Schofar wurde immer lauter. Mose rief, und Gott antwortete ihm mit Donnerstimme. 20 Dann stieg Jahwe ganz auf den Gipfel des Berges herab und rief Mose zu sich. Mose stieg hinauf. 21 Jahwe sagte zu ihm: „Geh noch einmal zurück und warne das Volk, dass sie ja nicht zu Jahwe durchbrechen, um ihn zu sehen. Sonst würden viele von ihnen den Tod finden. 22 Auch die Priester,^[5] die sich Jahwe nähern, müssen sich dafür weihen, sonst ist ihr Leben in Gefahr.“ (2Mo 13,2; 2Mo 19,24; 2Mo 24,5; 4Mo 3,45)

23 Mose sagte zu Jahwe: „Das Volk kann gar nicht auf den Berg Sinai steigen, denn du hast uns ja gewarnt und befohlen, eine Grenze um den Berg zu ziehen und ihn für heilig zu erklären.“ 24 Doch Jahwe sagte zu ihm: „Geh und steig hinunter! Und komm dann mit Aaron herauf! Aber die Priester und das Volk dürfen nicht durchbrechen, um zu Jahwe hinaufzusteigen, damit er keine Bresche in ihre Linie bricht.“ 25 Da stieg Mose hinunter und warnte das Volk.

1 وَفِي تَمَامِ الشَّهْرِ الثَّالِثِ مِنْ خُرُوجِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنْ أَرْضِ مِصْرَ وَصَلُوا إِلَى بَرِّيَّةِ سِينَاءَ. 2 فَقَدِ ارْتَحَلَ الإِسْرَائِيلِيُّونَ مِنْ رَفِيدِيمَ إِلَى أَنْ جَاءُوا إِلَى بَرِّيَّةِ سِينَاءَ، فَنَزَلُوا مُقَابِلَ الْجَبَلِ. 3 فَصَعِدَ مُوسَى لِلْمُثُولِ أَمَامَ اللهِ. فَنَادَاهُ الرَّبُّ مِنَ الجَبَلِ: «هَكَذَا تَقُولُ لِآلِ يَعْقُوبَ، وَتُخْبِرُ شَعْبَ إِسْرَائِيلَ: 4 لَقَدْ عَايَنْتُمْ بِأَنْفُسِكُمْ مَا أَجْرَيْتُهُ عَلَى مِصْرَ، وَكَيْفَ حَمَلْتُكُمْ عَلَى أَجْنِحَةِ النُّسُورِ وَجِئْتُ بِكُمْ إِلَيَّ. 5 لِذَلِكَ إنْ أَطَعْتُمْ عَهْدِي، تَكُونُوا لِي مِلْكاً خَاصّاً مِنْ بَيْنِ جَمِيعِ الشُّعُوبِ، لأَنَّ لِي كُلَّ الأَرْضِ. 6 وَتَكُونُوا لِي مَمْلَكَةَ كَهَنَةٍ وَأُمَّةً مُقَدَّسَةً. هَذَا هُوَ الْكَلامُ الَّذِي تُخَاطِبُ بِهِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ». 7 فَاسْتَدْعَى مُوسَى شُيُوخَ الشَّعْبِ وَتَلا أَمَامَهُمْ جَمِيعَ هَذَا الْكَلامِ الَّذِي أَوْصَاهُ بِهِ الرَّبُّ. 8 فَقَالَ كُلُّ الشَّعْبِ مَعاً: «كُلُّ مَا نَطَقَ بِهِ الرَّبُّ نَعْمَلُ». فَحَمَلَ مُوسَى جَوَابَهُمْ إِلَى الرَّبِّ. 9 فَقَالَ الرَّبُّ لِمُوسَى: «هَا أَنَا مُقْبِلٌ عَلَيْكَ فِي هَيْئَةِ سَحَابٍ مُظْلِمٍ، فَيَسْمَعُنِي الشَّعْبُ حِينَمَا أُخَاطِبُكَ، فَيَثِقُونَ أَيْضاً بِكَ دَائِماً». وَنَقَلَ مُوسَى إِلَى الرَّبِّ كَلامَ الشَّعْبِ. 10 وَقَالَ الرَّبُّ لِمُوسَى: «انْزِلْ إِلَى الشَّعْبِ وَقَدِّسْهُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَغَداً، وَدَعْهُمْ يَغْسِلُونَ ثِيَابَهُمْ، 11 لِيَكُونُوا مُتَأَهِّبِينَ لِلْيَوْمِ الثَّالِثِ، لأَنَّهُ فِي اليَوْمِ الثَّالِثِ أَنْزِلُ أَمَامَ جَمِيعِ الشَّعْبِ عَلَى جَبَلِ سِينَاءَ. 12 وَأَقِمْ حُدُوداً حَوْلَ الْجَبَلِ لَا يَتَخَطَّاهَا الشَّعْبُ. وَقُلْ لَهُمْ: حَذَارِ مِنْ أَنْ تَصْعَدُوا إِلَى الْجَبَلِ، أَوْ تَمَسُّوا طَرَفَهُ، فَكُلُّ مَنَ يَمَسُّ الْجَبَلَ حَتْماً يُقْتَلُ. 13 لَا تَمَسُّهُ يَدٌ، بَلْ يُرْجَمُ رَجْماً أَوْ يُرْمَى بِالسِّهَامِ، سَوَاءَ أَكَانَ بَهِيمَةً أَمْ إِنْسَاناً. لَا يُبْقَى عَلَيْهِ. أَمَّا عِنْدَمَا يَتَرَدَّدُ صَوْتُ بُوقٍ طَوِيلٍ، فَعِنْدَئِذٍ فَقَطْ يَصْعَدُونَ إِلَى الْجَبَلِ». 14 وَبَعْدَ أَنِ انْحَدَرَ مُوسَى مِنَ الْجَبَلِ إِلَى الشَّعْبِ قَدَّسَهُمْ وَغَسَلُوا ثِيَابَهُمْ، 15 وَقَالَ لِلشَّعْبِ: «كُونُوا مُتَأَهِّبِينَ لِلْيَوْمِ الثَّالِثِ، وَامْتَنِعُوا عَنْ مُعَاشَرَةِ نِسَائِكُمْ». 16 وَفِي صَبَاحِ الْيَوْمِ الثَّالِثِ حَدَثَتْ رُعُودٌ وَبُرُوقٌ، وَخَيَّمَ سَحَابٌ كَثِيفٌ عَلَى الْجَبَلِ، وَدَوَّى صَوْتُ بُوقٍ قَوِيٌّ جِدّاً، فَارْتَعَدَ كُلُّ الشَّعْبِ الَّذِي فِي المُخَيَّمِ، 17 فَأَخْرَجَ مُوسَى الشَّعْبَ مِنَ المُخَيَّمِ لِلِقَاءِ اللهِ، فَوَقَفُوا عِنْدَ سَفْحِ الجَبَلِ. 18 وَكَانَ جَبَلُ سِينَاءَ كُلُّهُ مُغَطَّى بِدُخَانٍ، لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ نَزَلَ عَلَيْهِ فِي هَيْئَةِ نَارٍ. وَتَصَاعَدَ دُخَانُهُ كَدُخَانِ الأَتُونِ، وَاهْتَزَّ الجَبَلُ كُلُّهُ بِعُنْفٍ. 19 وَازْدَادَ دَوِيُّ الْبُوقِ أَكْثَرَ فِيمَا كَانَ مُوسَى يَتَكَلَّمُ، وَالرَّبُّ يُجِيبُهُ بِرَعْدٍ.

20 وَنَزَلَ الرَّبُّ عَلَى قِمَّةِ جَبَلِ سِينَاءَ، وَنَادَى مُوسَى لِيَصْعَدَ إِلَى قِمَّةِ الجَبَلِ، فَصَعِدَ إِلَيْهِ. 21 فَقَالَ لَهُ الرَّبُّ: «انْزِلْ وَحَذِّرِ الشَّعْبَ لِئَلّا يَقْتَحِمُوا الجَبَلَ لِيَرَونِي فَيَهْلِكَ مِنْهُمْ كَثِيرُونَ. 22 وَلْيَتَقَدَّسْ أَيْضاً الْكَهَنَةُ الَّذِينَ يَقْتَرِبُونَ إِلَيَّ لِئَلّا أَبْطُشَ بِهِمْ». 23 فَقَالَ مُوسَى لِلرَّبِّ: «لا يَقْدِرُ الشَّعْبُ أَنْ يَصْعَدَ إِلَى جَبَلِ سِينَاءَ، لأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ قَدْ حَذَّرْتَنَا قَائِلاً: أَقِمْ حُدُوداً حَوْلَ الجَبَلِ وَقَدِّسْهُ». 24 فَأَجَابَ الرَّبُّ: «انْزِلْ وَاصْعَدْ بِأَخِيكَ هَرُونَ مَعَكَ، أَمَّا الكَهَنَةُ وَالشَّعْبُ فَلا يَقْتَحِمُوا طَرِيقَهُمْ لِيَصْعَدُوا إِلَيَّ لِئَلّا أَبْطُشَ بِهِمْ». 25 فَانْحَدَرَ مُوسَى إِلَى الشَّعْبِ وَأَنْذَرَهُمْ.

Israel at Mount Sinai

1 On the third new moon after the people of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that day they came into the wilderness of Sinai. (4Mo 33,15) 2 They set out from Rephidim and came into the wilderness of Sinai, and they encamped in the wilderness. There Israel encamped before the mountain, (2Mo 3,1; 2Mo 17,1; 2Mo 17,8) 3 while Moses went up to God. 11 and be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. 17 Then Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they took their stand at the foot of the mountain. (5Mo 4,10) 18 Now Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke because the Lord had descended on it in fire. The smoke of it went up like the smoke of a kiln, and the whole mountain trembled greatly. 19 And as the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him in thunder. (2Mo 19,16; Neh 9,13; Ps 81,7) 20 The Lord came down on Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain. And the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up. 21 And the Lord said to Moses, “Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to the Lord to look and many of them perish. Лишь когда протяжно протрубит рог, они могут подниматься на гору. 14 Спустившись к народу с горы, Муса освятил его. Они выстирали одежду. 15 Он сказал народу: – Приготовьтесь к послезавтрашнему дню. Воздержитесь от близости с женщинами. 16 Утром третьего дня были гром и молния, густое облако над горой и громкий трубный звук. Все, кто был в лагере, задрожали. 17 Муса вывел народ из лагеря навстречу Всевышнему, и они встали у подножия горы. 18 Гора Синай была застлана дымом, потому что Вечный сошёл на неё в огне. От неё поднимался дым, словно из печи. Вся гора сильно дрожала, 19 а трубный звук становился всё громче и громче.
