1 Quando o SENHOR trouxe os cativos de volta a Sião[1], foi como um sonho. 2 Então a nossa boca encheu-se de riso e a nossa língua de cantos de alegria. Até nas outras nações se dizia: “O SENHOR fez coisas grandiosas por este povo”. 3 Sim, coisas grandiosas fez o SENHOR por nós, por isso estamos alegres. 4 SENHOR, restaura-nos[2], assim como enches o leito dos ribeiros no deserto[3]. 5 Aqueles que semeiam com lágrimas, com cantos de alegria colherão. 6 Aquele que sai chorando enquanto lança a semente, voltará com cantos de alegria, trazendo os seus feixes.

1 A Song of Ascents. When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. (Sl 14:7; Sl 120:1; At 12:9) 2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” (Jó 8:21; Sl 71:19) 3 The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad. 4 Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negeb! 5 Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! (Ed 6:22; Ne 12:43; Jr 31:9; Ag 2:3; Gl 6:9) 6 He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
