1El SEÑOR le dijo a Moisés:2«Hazte dos trompetas de plata labrada, y úsalas para reunir al pueblo acampado y para dar la señal de ponerse en marcha.3Cuando ambas trompetas den el toque de reunión, toda la comunidad se reunirá contigo a la entrada de la Tienda de reunión.4Cuando solo una de ellas dé el toque, se reunirán contigo únicamente los jefes de las tribus de Israel.5Al primer toque de avance, se pondrán en marcha las tribus que acampan al este,6y al segundo, las que acampan al sur. Es decir, la señal de partida será el toque de avance.7Cuando se quiera reunir a la comunidad, el toque de reunión que se dé será diferente.8»Las trompetas las tocarán los sacerdotes aaronitas. Esto será un estatuto perpetuo para vosotros y vuestros descendientes.9»Cuando estéis ya en vuestra propia tierra y tengáis que salir a la guerra contra el enemigo opresor, las trompetas darán la señal de combate. Entonces el SEÑOR se acordará de vosotros y os salvará de vuestros enemigos.10»Cuando celebréis fiestas en fechas solemnes o en novilunios, también tocaréis trompetas para anunciar los holocaustos y los sacrificios de comunión. Así Dios se acordará de vosotros. Yo soy el SEÑOR vuestro Dios».
Desde el Sinaí hasta Parán
11El día veinte del segundo mes del año segundo, la nube se levantó del santuario del pacto.12Entonces los israelitas avanzaron desde el desierto de Sinaí hasta el desierto de Parán, donde la nube se detuvo.13A la orden que el SEÑOR dio por medio de Moisés, los israelitas emprendieron la marcha por primera vez.14Los primeros en partir fueron los escuadrones que marchaban bajo el estandarte del campamento de Judá. Los comandaba Naasón hijo de Aminadab.15Natanael hijo de Zuar comandaba el escuadrón de la tribu de Isacar.16Eliab hijo de Helón comandaba el escuadrón de la tribu de Zabulón.17Entonces se desmontó el santuario, y los guersonitas y meraritas que lo transportaban se pusieron en marcha.18Les siguieron los escuadrones que marchaban bajo el estandarte del campamento de Rubén. Los comandaba Elisur hijo de Sedeúr.19Selumiel hijo de Zurisaday comandaba el escuadrón de la tribu de Simeón,20y Eliasaf hijo de Deuel comandaba el escuadrón de la tribu de Gad.21Luego partieron los coatitas, que llevaban las cosas sagradas. El santuario se levantaba antes de que ellos llegaran al próximo lugar de campamento.22Les siguieron los escuadrones que marchaban bajo el estandarte del campamento de Efraín. Los comandaba Elisama hijo de Amiud.23Gamaliel hijo de Pedasur comandaba el escuadrón de la tribu de Manasés,24y Abidán hijo de Gedeoni comandaba el escuadrón de la tribu de Benjamín.25Por último, a la retaguardia de todos los campamentos, partieron los escuadrones que marchaban bajo el estandarte del campamento de Dan. Los comandaba Ajiezer hijo de Amisaday.26Paguiel hijo de Ocrán comandaba el escuadrón de la tribu de Aser,27y Ajirá hijo de Enán comandaba el escuadrón de la tribu de Neftalí.28Este era el orden de los escuadrones israelitas cuando se ponían en marcha.
Moisés invita a Hobab
29Entonces Moisés le dijo al madianita Hobab hijo de Reuel, que era su suegro: ―Vamos a partir hacia la tierra que el SEÑOR prometió darnos. Ven con nosotros. Seremos generosos contigo, ya que el SEÑOR ha prometido ser generoso con Israel.30―No, no iré —respondió Hobab—; quiero regresar a mi tierra y a mi familia.31―Por favor, no nos dejes —insistió Moisés—. Tú conoces bien los lugares del desierto donde debemos acampar. Tú serás nuestro guía.32Si vienes con nosotros, compartiremos contigo todo lo bueno que el SEÑOR nos dé.
Israel se pone en marcha
33Los israelitas partieron de la montaña del SEÑOR y anduvieron por espacio de tres días, durante los cuales el arca del pacto del SEÑOR marchaba al frente de ellos para buscarles un lugar donde acampar.34Cuando partían, la nube del SEÑOR permanecía sobre ellos todo el día.35Cada vez que el arca se ponía en marcha, Moisés decía: «¡Levántate, SEÑOR! Sean dispersados tus enemigos; huyan de tu presencia los que te odian».36Pero cada vez que el arca se detenía, Moisés decía: «¡Regresa, SEÑOR, a la incontable muchedumbre de Israel!»
1The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,2“Make two silver trumpets. Of hammered work you shall make them, and you shall use them for summoning the congregation and for breaking camp. (Sal 81:3; Is 1:13; Jl 1:14)3And when both are blown, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the entrance of the tent of meeting. (Jer 4:5; Jl 2:15)4But if they blow only one, then the chiefs, the heads of the tribes of Israel, shall gather themselves to you. (Ex 18:21; Nm 1:16; Nm 7:2)5When you blow an alarm, the camps that are on the east side shall set out. (Nm 2:3; Nm 10:14)6And when you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that are on the south side shall set out. An alarm is to be blown whenever they are to set out. (Nm 2:10; Nm 10:18)7But when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow a long blast, but you shall not sound an alarm. (Nm 10:3; Jl 2:1)8And the sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets. The trumpets shall be to you for a perpetual statute throughout your generations. (1 Cr 15:24; 2 Cr 13:12)9And when you go to war in your land against the adversary who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be remembered before the Lord your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies. (Gn 8:1; Nm 10:7; Nm 31:6; Jos 6:5; Jue 2:18; Jue 4:3; Jue 10:8; Jue 10:12; 1 S 10:18; 2 Cr 13:14)10On the day of your gladness also, and at your appointed feasts and at the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings. Israel Leaves Sinai
11In the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud lifted from over the tabernacle of the testimony, (Nm 9:17)12and the people of Israel set out by stages from the wilderness of Sinai. And the cloud settled down in the wilderness of Paran. (Gn 21:21; Ex 19:1; Ex 40:36; Nm 1:1; Nm 9:5; Nm 12:16; Nm 13:3; Nm 13:26; Dt 1:1)13They set out for the first time at the command of the Lord by Moses. (Nm 2:34; Nm 10:5)14The standard of the camp of the people of Judah set out first by their companies, and over their company was Nahshon the son of Amminadab. (Nm 1:7; Nm 2:3)15And over the company of the tribe of the people of Issachar was Nethanel the son of Zuar.16And over the company of the tribe of the people of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.17And when the tabernacle was taken down, the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who carried the tabernacle, set out. (Nm 1:51; Nm 4:24; Nm 7:6)18And the standard of the camp of Reuben set out by their companies, and over their company was Elizur the son of Shedeur. (Nm 1:5; Nm 2:10)19And over the company of the tribe of the people of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. (Nm 1:14; Nm 2:14)21Then the Kohathites set out, carrying the holy things, and the tabernacle was set up before their arrival. (Nm 4:4; Nm 7:9; Nm 10:17)22And the standard of the camp of the people of Ephraim set out by their companies, and over their company was Elishama the son of Ammihud. (Nm 1:10; Nm 2:18)23And over the company of the tribe of the people of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur. (Nm 10:22)24And over the company of the tribe of the people of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni. (Nm 1:11)25Then the standard of the camp of the people of Dan, acting as the rear guard of all the camps, set out by their companies, and over their company was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. (Nm 1:12; Nm 2:25; Jos 6:9)26And over the company of the tribe of the people of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ochran. (Nm 1:13)27And over the company of the tribe of the people of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan. (Nm 1:15)28This was the order of march of the people of Israel by their companies, when they set out. (Nm 2:34)29And Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which the Lord said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will do good to you, for the Lord has promised good to Israel.” (Gn 12:7; Gn 32:12; Ex 2:18; Ex 3:8; Ex 6:7)30But he said to him, “I will not go. I will depart to my own land and to my kindred.”31And he said, “Please do not leave us, for you know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you will serve as eyes for us. (Job 29:15)32And if you do go with us, whatever good the Lord will do to us, the same will we do to you.” (Nm 10:29; Jue 1:16; Jue 4:11)33So they set out from the mount of the Lord three days’ journey. And the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them three days’ journey, to seek out a resting place for them. (Ex 3:1; Sal 132:8; Jer 31:2)34And the cloud of the Lord was over them by day, whenever they set out from the camp. (Ex 13:21)35And whenever the ark set out, Moses said, “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate you flee before you.” (Sal 68:1)36And when it rested, he said, “Return, O Lord, to the ten thousand thousands of Israel.”
