1Când Mielul a deschis al șaptelea sigiliu, în cer s‑a făcut liniște timp de aproape jumătate de oră.2Și i‑am văzut pe cei șapte îngeri care stau înaintea lui Dumnezeu. Acestora li s‑au dat șapte trâmbițe.3Un alt înger, care avea o cădelniță de aur, a venit și a stat înaintea altarului. I‑a fost dată multă tămâie, pentru a o aduce împreună cu rugăciunile tuturor sfinților pe altarul de aur care este înaintea tronului.4Fumul de tămâie, împreună cu rugăciunile sfinților, s‑a ridicat din mâna îngerului înaintea lui Dumnezeu.5Îngerul a luat cădelnița, a umplut‑o cu foc de pe altar și a aruncat focul pe pământ. Și au avut loc tunete, sunete[1], fulgere și un cutremur.
Cele șapte trâmbițe
6Cei șapte îngeri care aveau cele șapte trâmbițe erau pregătiți să sune.7Primul a sunat din trâmbiță. Și a venit grindină și foc amestecat cu sânge, care au fost aruncate pe pământ. A treia parte a pământului a fost arsă, a treia parte a copacilor a fost arsă și toată iarba verde a fost arsă.8Al doilea înger a sunat din trâmbiță. Și ceva ca un munte mare de foc aprins a fost aruncat în mare. A treia parte din mare s‑a transformat în sânge,9a treia parte din făpturile care erau în mare și care aveau viață au murit și a treia parte din corăbii au fost distruse.10Al treilea înger a sunat din trâmbiță. Și din cer a căzut o stea mare, aprinsă ca o torță. A căzut peste a treia parte din râuri și peste izvoarele de apă.11Numele stelei era: „Pelin“[2]. A treia parte din ape s‑au transformat în pelin și mulți oameni au murit din cauza apelor, pentru că fuseseră făcute amare.12Al patrulea înger a sunat din trâmbiță. Și au fost lovite a treia parte din soare, a treia parte din lună și a treia parte din stele, pentru ca a treia parte din ele să fie întunecată și astfel a treia parte din zi și din noapte să nu mai aibă lumină.13M‑am uitat și am auzit un vultur care zbura în înaltul cerului, zicând cu glas tare: „Vai, vai, vai de locuitorii pământului, din cauza celorlalte sunete de trâmbiță ale celorlalți trei îngeri care urmează să sune!“

The Seven Trumpets
6Now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to blow them.7The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, and these were thrown upon the earth. And a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up. (Ex 9:23; Ps 18:13; Is 2:13; Ez 38:22; Ioel 2:30; Zah 13:8; Apo 8:8; Apo 9:4; Apo 9:15; Apo 9:18; Apo 12:4)8The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. (Ex 7:17; Ex 7:19; Ier 51:25; Mar 11:23; Apo 11:6)9A third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. (Is 2:16)10The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. (Is 14:12; Apo 9:1; Apo 14:7; Apo 16:4)11The name of the star is Wormwood.[2] A third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the water, because it had been made bitter. (Ex 15:23; Deut 29:18; Ier 9:15; Ier 23:15)12The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light might be darkened, and a third of the day might be kept from shining, and likewise a third of the night. (Ex 10:21; Is 13:10; Is 30:26)13Then I looked, and I heard an eagle crying with a loud voice as it flew directly overhead, “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, at the blasts of the other trumpets that the three angels are about to blow!” (Apo 9:12; Apo 11:14)
