1В земле был голод, – не тот прежний голод, который был при Аврааме, – и Исаак пошел к Авимелеху, царю филистимлян, в Герар.2Господь явился Исааку и сказал: – Не иди в Египет; живи на той земле, где Я скажу тебе жить.3Поселись на этой земле на время, и Я буду с тобой и благословлю тебя, потому что Я исполню клятву, которую дал твоему отцу Аврааму, и дам все эти земли тебе и твоим потомкам.4Я сделаю твое потомство многочисленным, как звезды на небе, и дам им все эти земли, и через твое потомство получат благословение все народы на земле,5потому что Авраам слушался Меня и хранил Мои повеления, заповеди, уставы и законы.6И Исаак поселился в Гераре.7Когда жители того места спросили у него о его жене, он сказал: «Это моя сестра», потому что боялся сказать: «Это моя жена». Спор с филистимлянами о колодцах
12Исаак засеял поля в той земле и в тот же год собрал урожай стократно, и Господь благословил его:13он разбогател, и состояние его все росло, пока он не стал очень богатым.14У него были такие большие стада мелкого и крупного скота и столько слуг, что филистимляне завидовали ему.15Они засыпали землей все колодцы, которые еще во времена его отца выкопали слуги отца его Авраама.16Авимелех сказал Исааку: – Уходи от нас; ты стал слишком силен для нас.17Исаак ушел оттуда, поселился в герарской долине и обосновался там.18Исаак расчистил колодцы, которые были выкопаны во времена его отца Авраама, а затем засыпаны филистимлянами после его смерти, и дал им те же названия, какие прежде дал его отец.19Слуги Исаака стали копать в долине и открыли там колодец с родниковой водой,20но герарские пастухи затеяли ссору с пастухами Исаака, говоря: «Это наша вода!» Он назвал колодец Есек[1], потому что они спорили с ним.21Потом они выкопали другой колодец, но и из-за него вышла ссора, поэтому он назвал его Ситна[2].22Он ушел оттуда и выкопал еще один колодец, из-за которого ссоры не было, и он назвал его Реховот[3], говоря: «Теперь Господь дал нам место, и мы умножимся в этой земле».23Он направился оттуда в Вирсавию.24В ту ночь Господь явился ему и сказал: – Я – Бог твоего отца Авраама. Я благословлю тебя и увеличу число твоих потомков ради Моего слуги Авраама.25Исаак построил там жертвенник и призвал имя Господа и поставил там шатер, а слуги его выкопали колодец.26Авимелех пришел к нему из Герара вместе с Ахузатом, своим личным советником, и Фихолом, начальником его войска.27Исаак спросил их: – Зачем вы пришли, ведь вы были враждебны ко мне и прогнали меня?28Они ответили: – Нам теперь ясно, что с тобой Господь, и мы решили, что у нас должно быть клятвенное соглашение, между нами и тобой. Давай заключим союз,29что ты не причинишь нам вреда, как и мы не тронули тебя, но всегда обходились с тобой хорошо и отпустили тебя с миром. А теперь ты благословлен Господом.30Исаак устроил для них пир, и они ели и пили.31На другой день рано утром они дали друг другу клятву; Исаак простился с ними, и они ушли от него с миром.32В тот же день слуги Исаака пришли и рассказали ему о колодце, который они выкопали. Они сказали: – Мы нашли воду!33Он назвал его Шева[4], и до сего дня имя этого города – Вирсавия[5]. (Быт 21:31)
Жены Исава
34Когда Исаву было сорок лет, он женился на Иегудифи, дочери хетта Беэра, и на Басемате, дочери хетта Елона;35и от них было много огорчения Исааку и Ревекке.
1En ese tiempo hubo mucha hambre en aquella región, además de la que hubo en tiempos de Abraham. Por eso Isaac se fue a Guerar, donde se encontraba Abimélec, rey de los filisteos.2Allí el SEÑOR se le apareció y le dijo: «No vayas a Egipto. Quédate en la región de la que te he hablado.3Vive en ese lugar por un tiempo. Yo estaré contigo y te bendeciré, porque a ti y a tu descendencia os daré todas esas tierras. Así confirmaré el juramento que le hice a tu padre Abraham.4Multiplicaré tu descendencia como las estrellas del cielo, y le daré todas esas tierras. Por medio de tu descendencia, todas las naciones de la tierra serán bendecidas,5porque Abraham me obedeció y cumplió mis preceptos y mis mandamientos, mis normas y mis enseñanzas».6Isaac se quedó en Guerar.7Y, cuando la gente del lugar le preguntaba a Isaac acerca de su esposa, él respondía que ella era su hermana. Tan bella era Rebeca que Isaac tenía miedo de decir que era su esposa, pues pensaba que por causa de ella podrían matarlo.8Algún tiempo después, mientras Abimélec, el rey de los filisteos, miraba por una ventana, vio a Isaac acariciando a su esposa Rebeca.9Entonces mandó llamar a Isaac y le dijo: ―¡Conque ella es tu esposa! ¿Por qué dijiste que era tu hermana? ―Yo pensé que por causa de ella podrían matarme —contestó Isaac.10―¿Por qué nos hiciste esto? —replicó Abimélec—. Alguno de nosotros podría haberse acostado con tu esposa, ¡y tú nos habrías hecho a todos culpables de ese pecado!11Por eso Abimélec envió esta orden a todo el pueblo: ―Si alguien molesta a este hombre o a su esposa, será condenado a muerte.12Isaac sembró en aquella región, y ese año cosechó al ciento por uno, porque el SEÑOR lo había bendecido.13Así Isaac fue acumulando riquezas, hasta que llegó a ser muy rico.14Esto causó que los filisteos comenzaran a tenerle envidia, pues llegó a tener muchas ovejas, vacas y siervos.15Ahora bien, los filisteos habían cegado todos los pozos de agua que los siervos del padre de Isaac habían cavado.16Así que Abimélec le dijo a Isaac: ―Aléjate de nosotros, pues ya eres más poderoso que nosotros.17Isaac se fue de allí y acampó en el valle de Guerar, donde se quedó a vivir.18Abrió nuevamente los pozos de agua que habían sido cavados en tiempos de su padre Abraham, y que los filisteos habían tapado después de su muerte, y les puso los mismos nombres que su padre les había dado.19Cierta vez, cuando los siervos de Isaac estaban cavando en el valle, encontraron un manantial.20Pero los pastores de Guerar discutieron acaloradamente con los pastores de Isaac, alegando que el agua era de ellos. Por eso Isaac llamó a ese pozo Pleito,[1] porque habían peleado con él.21Después sus siervos cavaron otro pozo, por el cual también se pelearon. Por eso Isaac lo llamó Enemistad.[2]22Entonces Isaac se fue de allí y cavó otro pozo, pero esta vez no hubo ninguna disputa. A este pozo lo llamó Espacios libres,[3] y dijo: «El SEÑOR nos ha dado espacio para que prosperemos en esta región».23De allí Isaac se dirigió a Berseba.24Esa noche se le apareció el SEÑOR, y le dijo: «Yo soy el Dios de tu padre Abraham. No temas, porque yo estoy contigo. Por amor a mi siervo Abraham, te bendeciré y multiplicaré tu descendencia».25Allí Isaac construyó un altar e invocó el nombre del SEÑOR. Acampó en ese lugar, y sus siervos cavaron un pozo.26Cierto día, Abimélec fue a ver a Isaac desde Guerar. Llegó acompañado de su consejero Ajuzat, y de Ficol, el jefe de su ejército.27Isaac les preguntó: ―Si tanto me odiáis que hasta me echasteis de vuestra tierra, ¿para qué venís a verme?28―Nos hemos dado cuenta de que el SEÑOR está contigo —respondieron—. Hemos pensado que tú y nosotros debiéramos hacer un pacto, respaldado por un juramento. Ese pacto será el siguiente:29Tú no nos harás ningún daño, ya que nosotros no te hemos perjudicado, sino que te hemos tratado bien y te hemos dejado ir en paz. ¡Ahora el bendecido del SEÑOR eres tú!30Isaac les preparó un banquete, y comieron y bebieron.31A la mañana siguiente se levantaron muy temprano, e hicieron un compromiso mutuo. Luego Isaac los despidió, y ellos se fueron en calidad de amigos.32Aquel mismo día, los siervos de Isaac fueron y le informaron acerca de un pozo que habían cavado, y le dijeron: ―¡Hemos encontrado agua!33Isaac llamó a ese pozo Juramento.[4] Por eso la ciudad se llama Berseba[5] hasta el día de hoy.
Isaac bendice a Jacob
34Esaú tenía cuarenta años de edad cuando se casó con Judit hija de Beerí, el hitita. También se casó con Basemat, hija de un hitita llamado Elón.35Estas dos mujeres les causaron mucha amargura a Isaac y a Rebeca.
1Now there was a famine in the land, besides the former famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Gerar to Abimelech king of the Philistines. Isaac and Abimelech
6So Isaac settled in Gerar.7When the men of the place asked him about his wife, he said, “She is my sister,” for he feared to say, “My wife,” thinking, “lest the men of the place should kill me because of Rebekah,” because she was attractive in appearance. (Быт 12:13; Быт 20:2; Быт 20:13; Быт 24:16; Прит 29:25)8When he had been there a long time, Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out of a window and saw Isaac laughing with[1] Rebekah his wife.9So Abimelech called Isaac and said, “Behold, she is your wife. How then could you say, ‘She is my sister’?” Isaac said to him, “Because I thought, ‘Lest I die because of her.’”10Abimelech said, “What is this you have done to us? One of the people might easily have lain with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us.” (Быт 20:9)11So Abimelech warned all the people, saying, “Whoever touches this man or his wife shall surely be put to death.”12And Isaac sowed in that land and reaped in the same year a hundredfold. And he gave them the names that his father had given them. So we said, let there be a sworn pact between us, between you and us, and let us make a covenant with you,29that you will do us no harm, just as we have not touched you and have done to you nothing but good and have sent you away in peace. You are now the blessed of the Lord.” (Быт 24:31)30So he made them a feast, and they ate and drank.31In the morning they rose early and exchanged oaths. And Isaac sent them on their way, and they departed from him in peace. (Быт 21:31)32That same day Isaac’s servants came and told him about the well that they had dug and said to him, “We have found water.”33He called it Shibah;[5] therefore the name of the city is Beersheba to this day.
