Il Signore, sicuro rifugio

1 Chi abita al riparo dell’Altissimo riposa all’ombra dell’Onnipotente. 2 Io dico al Signore: «Tu sei il mio rifugio e la mia fortezza, il mio Dio, in cui confido!» 3 Certo egli ti libererà dal laccio del cacciatore e dalla peste micidiale. 4 Egli ti coprirà con le sue penne e sotto le sue ali troverai rifugio. La sua fedeltà ti sarà scudo e corazza. 5 Tu non temerai gli spaventi della notte, né la freccia che vola di giorno, 6 né la peste che vaga nelle tenebre, né lo sterminio che imperversa in pieno mezzogiorno. 7 Mille ne cadranno al tuo fianco e diecimila alla tua destra; ma tu non ne sarai colpito. 8 Basta che tu guardi, e con i tuoi occhi vedrai il castigo degli empi. 9 Poiché tu hai detto: «O Signore, tu sei il mio rifugio», e hai fatto dell’Altissimo il tuo riparo, 10 nessun male potrà colpirti, né piaga alcuna si accosterà alla tua tenda. 11 Poiché egli comanderà ai suoi angeli di proteggerti in tutte le tue vie. 12 Essi ti porteranno sulla palma della mano, perché il tuo piede non inciampi in nessuna pietra^[1]. 13 Tu camminerai sul leone e sulla vipera, schiaccerai il leoncello e il serpente. 14 Poiché egli ha posto in me il suo affetto, io lo salverò; lo proteggerò, perché conosce il mio nome. 15 Egli m’invocherà, e io gli risponderò; sarò con lui nei momenti difficili; lo libererò e lo glorificherò. 16 Lo sazierò di lunga vita e gli farò vedere la mia salvezza.

Unter Gottes Schutz

1 Wer unter dem Schirm des Höchsten sitzt und unter dem Schatten des Allmächtigen bleibt, 2 der spricht zu dem HERRN: / Meine Zuversicht und meine Burg, mein Gott, auf den ich hoffe. 3 Denn er errettet dich vom Strick des Jägers und von der verderblichen Pest. 4 Er wird dich mit seinen Fittichen decken, / und Zuflucht wirst du haben unter seinen Flügeln. Seine Wahrheit ist Schirm und Schild, 5 dass du nicht erschrecken musst vor dem Grauen der Nacht, vor dem Pfeil, der des Tages fliegt, 6 vor der Pest, die im Finstern schleicht, vor der Seuche, die am Mittag Verderben bringt. 7 Wenn auch tausend fallen zu deiner Seite / und zehntausend zu deiner Rechten, so wird es doch dich nicht treffen. 8 Ja, du wirst es mit eigenen Augen sehen und schauen, wie den Frevlern vergolten wird. 9 Denn der HERR ist deine Zuversicht, der Höchste ist deine Zuflucht.^[1] 10 Es wird dir kein Übel begegnen, und keine Plage wird sich deinem Hause nahen. 11 Denn er hat seinen Engeln befohlen, dass sie dich behüten auf allen deinen Wegen, (Mat 4,6) 12 dass sie dich auf den Händen tragen und du deinen Fuß nicht an einen Stein stoßest. 13 Über Löwen und Ottern wirst du gehen und junge Löwen und Drachen niedertreten. (Lu 10,19) 14 »Er liebt mich, darum will ich ihn erretten; er kennt meinen Namen, darum will ich ihn schützen. 15 Er ruft mich an, darum will ich ihn erhören; / ich bin bei ihm in der Not, ich will ihn herausreißen und zu Ehren bringen. (Sal 50,15) 16 Ich will ihn sättigen mit langem Leben und will ihm zeigen mein Heil.« (Is 52,10)

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. 13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

1 El que habita al abrigo del Altísimo se acoge a la sombra del Todopoderoso. 2 Yo le digo al Señor: «Tú eres mi refugio, mi fortaleza, el Dios en quien confío.» 3 Sólo él puede librarte de las trampas del cazador y de mortíferas plagas, 4 pues te cubrirá con sus plumas y bajo sus alas hallarás refugio. ¡Su verdad será tu escudo y tu baluarte! 5 No temerás el terror de la noche, ni la flecha que vuela de día, 6 ni la peste que acecha en las sombras ni la plaga que destruye a mediodía. 7 Podrán caer mil a tu izquierda, y diez mil a tu derecha, pero a ti no te afectará. 8 No tendrás más que abrir bien los ojos, para ver a los impíos recibir su merecido. 9 Ya que has puesto al Señor por tu^[1] refugio, al Altísimo por tu protección, 10 ningún mal habrá de sobrevenirte, ninguna calamidad llegará a tu hogar. 11 Porque él ordenará que sus ángeles te cuiden en todos tus caminos. 12 Con sus propias manos te levantarán para que no tropieces con piedra alguna. 13 Aplastarás al león y a la víbora; ¡hollarás fieras y serpientes! 14 «Yo lo libraré, porque él se acoge a mí; lo protegeré, porque reconoce mi nombre. 15 Él me invocará, y yo le responderé; estaré con él en momentos de angustia; lo libraré y lo llenaré de honores. 16 Lo colmaré con muchos años de vida y le haré gozar de mi salvación.»
