Abramo vince parecchi re

1 Avvenne al tempo di Amrafel re di Scinear, di Arioc re di Ellasar, di Chedorlaomer re di Elam e di Tideal re dei Goim, 2 che essi mossero guerra a Bera re di Sodoma, a Birsa re di Gomorra, a Sineab re di Adma, a Semeber re di Seboim e al re di Bela, cioè Soar. 3 Tutti questi ultimi si radunarono nella valle di Siddim, che è il mar Salato. 4 Per dodici anni erano stati soggetti a Chedorlaomer, e al tredicesimo anno si erano ribellati. 5 Nell’anno quattordicesimo, Chedorlaomer e i re che erano con lui vennero e sconfissero i Refaim ad Asterot-Carnaim, gli Zuzei ad Am, gli Emei nella pianura di Chiriataim, 6 e i Corei nella loro montagna di Seir fino a El-Paran, che è presso il deserto. 7 Poi tornarono indietro e vennero a En-Mispat, cioè Cades, e sconfissero gli Amalechiti su tutto il loro territorio, e così pure gli Amorei che abitavano ad Asason-Tamar. 8 Allora il re di Sodoma, il re di Gomorra, il re di Adma, il re di Seboim e il re di Bela, cioè Soar, uscirono e si schierarono in battaglia contro quelli, nella valle di Siddim: 9 contro Chedorlaomer re di Elam, Tideal re dei Goim, Amrafel re di Scinear e Arioc re di Ellasar: quattro re contro cinque. 10 La valle di Siddim era piena di pozzi di bitume; i re di Sodoma e di Gomorra si diedero alla fuga e vi caddero dentro; quelli che scamparono fuggirono al monte. 11 I vincitori presero tutte le ricchezze di Sodoma e di Gomorra, tutti i loro viveri e se ne andarono. 12 Andandosene presero anche Lot, figlio del fratello di Abramo, con i suoi beni: Lot abitava infatti a Sodoma. 13 Ma uno degli scampati venne a informare Abramo, l’Ebreo, che abitava alle querce di Mamre, l’Amoreo, fratello di Escol e fratello di Aner, i quali avevano fatto alleanza con Abramo. 14 Abramo, come ebbe udito che suo fratello era stato fatto prigioniero, armò trecentodiciotto dei suoi più fidati servi, nati in casa sua, e inseguì i re fino a Dan. 15 Divisa la sua schiera per assalirli di notte, egli, con i suoi servi, li sconfisse e li inseguì fino a Coba, che è a sinistra di Damasco. 16 Recuperò così tutti i beni e ricondusse pure Lot suo fratello, con i suoi beni, e anche le donne e il popolo.

17 Com’egli se ne tornava, dopo aver sconfitto Chedorlaomer e i re che erano con lui, il re di Sodoma gli andò incontro nella valle di Sciavè, cioè la valle del re. 18 Melchisedec, re di Salem, fece portare del pane e del vino. Egli era sacerdote del Dio altissimo. 19 Egli benedisse Abramo, dicendo: «Benedetto sia Abramo dal Dio altissimo, padrone dei cieli e della terra! 20 Benedetto sia il Dio altissimo, che ti ha dato in mano i tuoi nemici!» E Abramo gli diede la decima di ogni cosa. 21 Il re di Sodoma disse ad Abramo: «Dammi le persone; i beni prendili per te». 22 Ma Abramo rispose al re di Sodoma: «Ho alzato la mia mano al Signore, il Dio altissimo, padrone dei cieli e della terra, 23 giurando che non avrei preso neppure un filo, né un laccio di sandalo, di tutto ciò che ti appartiene; perché tu non abbia a dire: “Io ho arricchito Abramo”. 24 Nulla per me! tranne quello che hanno mangiato i giovani e la parte che spetta agli uomini che sono venuti con me: Aner, Escol e Mamre; essi prendano la loro parte».

Abram errettet Lot und wird von Melchisedek gesegnet

1 Und es begab sich zu der Zeit des Königs Amrafel von Schinar, Arjochs, des Königs von Ellasar, Kedor-Laomers, des Königs von Elam, und Tidals, des Königs von Völkern, (Gios 12,23) 2 dass sie Krieg führten mit Bera, dem König von Sodom, und mit Birscha, dem König von Gomorra, und mit Schinab, dem König von Adma, und mit Schemeber, dem König von Zebojim, und mit dem König von Bela, das ist Zoar. (Gen 19,24) 3 Diese kamen alle zusammen in das Tal Siddim, das jetzt das Salzmeer ist. 4 Denn sie waren zwölf Jahre dem König Kedor-Laomer untertan gewesen und im dreizehnten Jahr waren sie von ihm abgefallen. 5 Darum kamen Kedor-Laomer und die Könige, die mit ihm waren, im vierzehnten Jahr und schlugen die Refaïter zu Aschterot-Karnajim und die Susiter zu Ham und die Emiter in der Ebene Kirjatajim (Gen 36,20) 6 und die Horiter auf ihrem Gebirge Seïr bis El-Paran, das an die Wüste stößt. 7 Danach wandten sie um und kamen nach En-Mischpat, das ist Kadesch, und schlugen das ganze Gebiet der Amalekiter, dazu die Amoriter, die zu Hazezon-Tamar wohnten. 8 Da zogen aus der König von Sodom, der König von Gomorra, der König von Adma, der König von Zebojim und der König von Bela, das ist Zoar, und rüsteten sich, zu kämpfen im Tal Siddim 9 mit Kedor-Laomer, dem König von Elam, und mit Tidal, dem König von Völkern, und mit Amrafel, dem König von Schinar, und mit Arjoch, dem König von Ellasar, vier Könige gegen fünf. 10 Das Tal Siddim aber war voller Erdharzgruben. Und die Könige von Sodom und Gomorra wurden in die Flucht geschlagen und fielen da hinein, und was übrig blieb, floh auf das Gebirge. 11 Da nahmen sie alle Habe von Sodom und Gomorra und alle Vorräte und zogen davon. 12 Sie nahmen auch mit sich Lot, Abrams Brudersohn, und seine Habe, denn er wohnte in Sodom, und zogen davon. (Gen 13,10) 13 Da kam einer, der entronnen war, und sagte es Abram an, dem Hebräer, der da wohnte im Hain Mamres, des Amoriters, des Bruders von Eschkol und Aner. Diese waren mit Abram im Bund. 14 Als nun Abram hörte, dass seines Bruders Sohn gefangen war, wappnete er seine Knechte, dreihundertachtzehn, in seinem Hause geboren, und jagte ihnen nach bis Dan (Gios 19,47; Giudic 18,29) 15 und teilte seine Schar des Nachts, fiel mit seinen Knechten über sie her und schlug sie und jagte sie bis nach Hoba, das nördlich der Stadt Damaskus liegt. 16 Und er brachte alle Habe wieder zurück, dazu auch Lot, seines Bruders Sohn, mit seiner Habe, auch die Frauen und das Volk. 17 Als er nun zurückkam von dem Sieg über Kedor-Laomer und die Könige mit ihm, ging ihm entgegen der König von Sodom in das Tal Schawe, das ist das Königstal. (Eb 7,1) 18 Aber Melchisedek, der König von Salem, trug Brot und Wein heraus. Und er war ein Priester Gottes des Höchsten (Sal 76,3; Sal 110,4) 19 und segnete ihn und sprach: Gesegnet seist du, Abram, vom höchsten Gott, der Himmel und Erde geschaffen hat; 20 und gelobt sei Gott der Höchste, der deine Feinde in deine Hand gegeben hat. Und Abram gab ihm den Zehnten von allem. (Gen 28,22; Le 27,30) 21 Da sprach der König von Sodom zu Abram: Gib mir die Leute, die Güter behalte für dich! 22 Aber Abram sprach zu dem König von Sodom: Ich hebe meine Hand auf zu dem HERRN, dem höchsten Gott, der Himmel und Erde geschaffen hat, 23 dass ich von allem, was dein ist, nicht einen Faden noch einen Schuhriemen nehmen will, damit du nicht sagest, du habest Abram reich gemacht, 24 ausgenommen, was die Knechte verzehrt haben; doch lass die Männer Aner, Eschkol und Mamre, die mit mir gezogen sind, ihr Teil nehmen.

1 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Tidal king of nations; 2 That these made war with Bera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Gomorrah, Shinab king of Admah, and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar. 3 All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea. 4 Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled. 5 And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim, 6 And the Horites in their mount Seir, unto Elparan, which is by the wilderness. 7 And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezontamar. 8 And there went out the king of Sodom, and the king of Gomorrah, and the king of Admah, and the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (the same is Zoar;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim; 9 With Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar; four kings with five. 10 And the vale of Siddim was full of slimepits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, and fell there; and they that remained fled to the mountain. 11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way. 12 And they took Lot, Abram' brother' son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed. 13 And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner: and these were confederate with Abram. 14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants , born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. 15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. 16 And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people. 17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king' dale. 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. 19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: 20 And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. 21 And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. 22 And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, 23 That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich: 24 Save only that which the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.

Abram rescata a Lot

1 En aquel tiempo los reyes Amrafel de Sinar,^[1] Arioc de Elasar, Quedorlaómer de Elam, y Tidal de Goyim 2 estuvieron en guerra contra los reyes Bera de Sodoma, Birsá de Gomorra, Sinab de Admá, Semeber de Zeboyín, y el rey de Bela, es decir, de Zoar. 3 Estos cinco últimos aunaron fuerzas en el valle de Sidín, conocido como el Mar Muerto. 4 Durante doce años habían estado bajo el dominio de Quedorlaómer, pero en el año trece se rebelaron contra él. 5 Al año siguiente, Quedorlaómer y los reyes que estaban con él salieron y derrotaron a los refaítas en la región de Astarot Carnayin; luego derrotaron a los zuzitas en Jam, a los emitas en Save Quiriatayin, 6 y a los horeos en los montes de Seír, hasta El Parán, que está cerca del desierto. 7 Al volver, llegaron hasta Enmispat, es decir, Cades, y conquistaron todo el territorio de los amalecitas, y también el de los amorreos que vivían en la región de Jazezón Tamar. 8 Entonces los reyes de Sodoma, Gomorra, Admá, Zeboyín y Bela, es decir, Zoar, salieron al valle de Sidín y presentaron batalla 9 a los reyes Quedorlaómer de Elam, Tidal de Goyim, Amrafel de Sinar, y Arioc de Elasar. Eran cuatro reyes contra cinco. 10 El valle de Sidín estaba lleno de pozos de asfalto, y cuando los reyes de Sodoma y Gomorra huyeron, se cayeron en ellos, pero los demás lograron escapar hacia los montes. 11 Los vencedores saquearon todos los bienes de Sodoma y de Gomorra, junto con todos los alimentos, y luego se retiraron. 12 Y como Lot, el sobrino de Abram, habitaba en Sodoma, también se lo llevaron a él, con todas sus posesiones. 13 Uno de los que habían escapado le informó todo esto a Abram el hebreo, que estaba acampando junto al encinar de Mamré el amorreo. Mamré era hermano^[2] de Escol y de Aner, y éstos eran aliados de Abram. 14 En cuanto Abram supo que su sobrino estaba cautivo, convocó a trescientos dieciocho hombres adiestrados que habían nacido en su casa, y persiguió a los invasores hasta Dan. 15 Durante la noche Abram y sus siervos desplegaron sus fuerzas y los derrotaron, persiguiéndolos hasta Hobá, que está al norte de Damasco. 16 Así recuperó todos los bienes, y también rescató a su sobrino Lot, junto con sus posesiones, las mujeres y la demás gente. 17 Cuando Abram volvía de derrotar a Quedorlaómer y a los reyes que estaban con él, el rey de Sodoma salió a su encuentro en el valle de Save, es decir, en el valle del Rey. 18 Y Melquisedec, rey de Salén y sacerdote del Dios altísimo, le ofreció pan y vino. 19 Luego bendijo a Abram con estas palabras: «¡Que el Dios altísimo, creador^[3] del cielo y de la tierra, bendiga a Abram! 20 ¡Bendito sea el Dios altísimo, que entregó en tus manos a tus enemigos!» Entonces Abram le dio el diezmo de todo. 21 El rey de Sodoma le dijo a Abram: —Dame las personas y quédate con los bienes. 22 Pero Abram le contestó: —He jurado por el Señor, el Dios altísimo, creador del cielo y de la tierra, 23 que no tomaré nada de lo que es tuyo, ni siquiera un hilo ni la correa de una sandalia. Así nunca podrás decir: “Yo hice rico a Abram.” 24 No quiero nada para mí, salvo lo que mis hombres ya han comido. En cuanto a los hombres que me acompañaron, es decir, Aner, Escol y Mamré, que tomen ellos su parte.
