Vocazione di Abramo. Abramo in Canaan

1 Il Signore disse ad Abramo: «Va’ via dal tuo paese, dai tuoi parenti e dalla casa di tuo padre, e va’ nel paese che io ti mostrerò; 2 io farò di te una grande nazione, ti benedirò e renderò grande il tuo nome e tu sarai fonte di benedizione. 3 Benedirò quelli che ti benediranno e maledirò chi ti maledirà, e in te saranno benedette tutte le famiglie della terra». 4 Abramo partì, come il Signore gli aveva detto, e Lot andò con lui. Abramo aveva settantacinque anni quando partì da Caran. 5 Abramo prese Sarai sua moglie e Lot, figlio di suo fratello, e tutti i beni che possedevano e le persone che avevano acquistate in Caran, e partirono verso il paese di Canaan. 6 Giunsero così nella terra di Canaan, e Abramo attraversò il paese fino alla località di Sichem, fino alla quercia di More. In quel tempo i Cananei erano nel paese. 7 Il Signore apparve ad Abramo e disse: «Io darò questo paese alla tua discendenza». Lì Abramo costruì un altare al Signore che gli era apparso. 8 Di là si spostò verso la montagna a oriente di Betel, e piantò le sue tende, avendo Betel a occidente e Ai a oriente; lì costruì un altare al Signore e invocò il nome del Signore. 9 Poi Abramo partì, proseguendo da un accampamento all’altro, verso la regione meridionale.

Abramo in Egitto

10 Venne una carestia nel paese e Abramo scese in Egitto per soggiornarvi, perché la fame era grande nel paese. 11 Come stava per entrare in Egitto, disse a Sarai sua moglie: «Ecco, io so che tu sei una donna di bell’aspetto; 12 quando gli Egiziani ti vedranno, diranno: “È sua moglie”. Essi mi uccideranno, ma a te lasceranno la vita. 13 Di’ dunque che sei mia sorella, perché io sia trattato bene a motivo di te e la vita mi sia conservata per amor tuo». 14 Quando Abramo giunse in Egitto, gli Egiziani osservarono che la donna era molto bella. 15 I prìncipi del faraone la videro, ne fecero le lodi in presenza del faraone; e la donna fu condotta in casa del faraone. 16 Questi fece del bene ad Abramo per amore di lei e Abramo ebbe pecore, buoi, asini, servi, serve, asine e cammelli. 17 Ma il Signore colpì il faraone e la sua casa con grandi piaghe, a motivo di Sarai, moglie di Abramo. 18 Allora il faraone chiamò Abramo e disse: «Che cosa mi hai fatto? Perché non mi hai detto che era tua moglie? Perché hai detto: 19 “È mia sorella”? Così io l’ho presa per moglie. Ora eccoti tua moglie, prendila e vattene!» 20 E il faraone diede alla sua gente ordini relativi ad Abramo, ed essi fecero partire lui, sua moglie e tutto quello che egli possedeva.

Abrams Berufung und Zug nach Kanaan

1 Und der HERR sprach zu Abram: Geh aus deinem Vaterland und von deiner Verwandtschaft und aus deines Vaters Hause in ein Land, das ich dir zeigen will. (Nu 23,9; At 7,3; Eb 11,8) 2 Und ich will dich zum großen Volk machen und will dich segnen und dir einen großen Namen machen, und du sollst ein Segen sein. (Gen 24,1; Gen 24,35; Sal 72,17) 3 Ich will segnen, die dich segnen, und verfluchen, die dich verfluchen; und in dir sollen gesegnet werden alle Geschlechter auf Erden. 4 Da zog Abram aus, wie der HERR zu ihm gesagt hatte, und Lot zog mit ihm. Abram aber war fünfundsiebzig Jahre alt, als er aus Haran zog. 5 So nahm Abram Sarai, seine Frau, und Lot, seines Bruders Sohn, mit aller ihrer Habe, die sie gewonnen hatten, und die Leute, die sie erworben hatten in Haran, und zogen aus, um ins Land Kanaan zu gehen. Und sie kamen in das Land, 6 und Abram durchzog das Land bis an die Stätte bei Sichem, bis zur Eiche More; es wohnten aber zu der Zeit die Kanaaniter im Lande. (Gen 35,4; Gios 24,25) 7 Da erschien der HERR dem Abram und sprach: Deinen Nachkommen will ich dies Land geben. Und er baute dort einen Altar dem HERRN, der ihm erschienen war. 8 Danach brach er von dort auf ins Gebirge östlich von Bethel und schlug sein Zelt auf, sodass er Bethel im Westen und Ai im Osten hatte, und baute dort dem HERRN einen Altar und rief den Namen des HERRN an. (Gen 4,26) 9 Danach zog Abram immer weiter bis ins Südland.

10 Es kam aber eine Hungersnot in das Land. Da zog Abram hinab nach Ägypten, dass er sich dort als ein Fremdling aufhielte; denn der Hunger war groß im Lande. (Gen 20,1; Gen 26,7) 11 Und als er nahe an Ägypten war, sprach er zu Sarai, seiner Frau: Siehe, ich weiß, dass du eine schöne Frau bist. 12 Wenn dich nun die Ägypter sehen, so werden sie sagen: Das ist seine Frau, und werden mich umbringen und dich leben lassen. 13 So sage doch, du seist meine Schwester, auf dass mir’s wohlgehe um deinetwillen und ich am Leben bleibe um deinetwillen. 14 Als nun Abram nach Ägypten kam, sahen die Ägypter, dass seine Frau sehr schön war. 15 Und die Großen des Pharao sahen sie und priesen sie vor ihm. Da wurde sie in das Haus des Pharao gebracht. 16 Und er tat Abram Gutes um ihretwillen; und er bekam Schafe, Rinder, Esel, Knechte und Mägde, Eselinnen und Kamele. 17 Aber der HERR plagte den Pharao und sein Haus mit großen Plagen um Sarais, Abrams Frau, willen. 18 Da rief der Pharao Abram zu sich und sprach zu ihm: Warum hast du mir das angetan? Warum sagtest du mir nicht, dass sie deine Frau ist? 19 Warum sprachst du denn: Sie ist meine Schwester, sodass ich sie mir zur Frau nahm? Und nun siehe, da hast du deine Frau; nimm sie und zieh hin. 20 Und der Pharao bestellte Leute um seinetwillen, dass sie ihn geleiteten und seine Frau und alles, was er hatte.

1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father' house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. 4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. 5 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother' son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came. 6 And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land. 7 And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him. 8 And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD. 9 And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south. 10 And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land. 11 And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon: 12 Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive. 13 Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee. 14 And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair. 15 The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh' house. 16 And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels. 17 And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram' wife. 18 And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife? 19 Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her , and go thy way. 20 And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.

Llamamiento de Abram

1 El Señor le dijo a Abram: «Deja tu tierra, tus parientes y la casa de tu padre, y vete a la tierra que te mostraré. 2 »Haré de ti una nación grande, y te bendeciré; haré famoso tu nombre, y serás una bendición. 3 Bendeciré a los que te bendigan y maldeciré a los que te maldigan; ¡por medio de ti serán bendecidas todas las familias de la tierra!» 4 Abram partió, tal como el Señor se lo había ordenado, y Lot se fue con él. Abram tenía setenta y cinco años cuando salió de Jarán. 5 Al encaminarse hacia la tierra de Canaán, Abram se llevó a su esposa Saray, a su sobrino Lot, a toda la gente que habían adquirido en Jarán, y todos los bienes que habían acumulado. Cuando llegaron a Canaán, 6 Abram atravesó toda esa región hasta llegar a Siquén, donde se encuentra la encina sagrada de Moré. En aquella época, los cananeos vivían en esa región. 7 Allí el Señor se le apareció a Abram y le dijo: «Yo le daré esta tierra a tu descendencia.» Entonces Abram erigió un altar al Señor, porque se le había aparecido. 8 De allí se dirigió a la región montañosa que está al este de Betel, donde armó su campamento, teniendo a Betel al oeste y Hai al este. También en ese lugar erigió un altar al Señor e invocó su nombre. 9 Después, Abram siguió su viaje por etapas hasta llegar a la región del Néguev.

Abram en Egipto

10 En ese entonces, hubo tanta hambre en aquella región que Abram se fue a vivir a Egipto. 11 Cuando estaba por entrar a Egipto, le dijo a su esposa Saray: «Yo sé que eres una mujer muy hermosa. 12 Estoy seguro que en cuanto te vean los egipcios, dirán: “Es su esposa”; entonces a mí me matarán, pero a ti te dejarán con vida. 13 Por favor, di que eres mi hermana, para que gracias a ti me vaya bien y me dejen con vida.» 14 Cuando Abram llegó a Egipto, los egipcios vieron que Saray era muy hermosa. 15 También los funcionarios del faraón la vieron, y fueron a contarle al faraón lo hermosa que era. Entonces la llevaron al palacio real. 16 Gracias a ella trataron muy bien a Abram. Le dieron ovejas, vacas, esclavos y esclavas, asnos y asnas, y camellos. 17 Pero por causa de Saray, la esposa de Abram, el Señor castigó al faraón y a su familia con grandes plagas. 18 Entonces el faraón llamó a Abram y le dijo: «¿Qué me has hecho? ¿Por qué no me dijiste que era tu esposa? 19 ¿Por qué dijiste que era tu hermana? ¡Yo pude haberla tomado por esposa! ¡Anda, toma a tu esposa y vete!» 20 Y el faraón ordenó a sus hombres que expulsaran a Abram y a su esposa, junto con todos sus bienes.
