1 Canto. Salmo dei figli di Core. Grande è il Signore e degno di lode nella città del nostro Dio, sul suo monte santo. 2 Bello si erge, e rallegra tutta la terra, il monte Sion: parte estrema del settentrione, città del gran re. 3 Nei suoi palazzi Dio è conosciuto come fortezza inespugnabile. 4 Quando i re si erano alleati e avanzavano uniti, 5 appena la videro rimasero attoniti; rimasti smarriti, si misero in fuga. 6 Là furono presi da tremore e da doglie come di donna che partorisce, 7 come quando il vento orientale spezza le navi di Tarsis. 8 Quel che avevamo udito l’abbiamo visto nella città del Signore degli eserciti, nella città del nostro Dio. Dio la renderà stabile per sempre. [Pausa] 9 Dentro il tuo tempio, o Dio, noi ricordiamo la tua bontà. 10 Come il tuo nome, o Dio, così la tua lode giunge fino alle estremità della terra; la tua destra è piena di giustizia. 11 Si rallegri il monte Sion, esultino le figlie di Giuda per i tuoi giudizi! 12 Fate il giro di Sion, marciatele attorno, contate le sue torri, 13 osservate le sue mura, considerate i suoi palazzi, perché possiate dire alla generazione futura: 14 «Questo è Dio, il nostro Dio in eterno; egli sarà la nostra guida fino alla morte».

1 Ein Lied. Ein Psalm. Von den Söhnen Korachs. (Sal 42,1) 2 Groß ist der HERR und sehr zu loben in der Stadt unseres Gottes. Sein heiliger Berg (Sal 87,3; Sal 99,9; Is 2,2; Eb 12,22) 3 ragt schön empor, eine Freude der ganzen Erde; der Berg Zion, im äußersten Norden, die Stadt des großen Königs. (Sal 50,2; Sal 135,21; Mat 5,35) 4 Gott ist in ihren Palästen bekannt als Zuflucht. 5 Denn siehe, die Könige hatten sich verabredet, waren herangezogen miteinander. (Sal 2,2) 6 Sie sahen, da staunten sie; sie wurden bestürzt, ⟨von Angst⟩ fortgetrieben. 7 Zittern ergriff sie dort, Wehen wie die Gebärende. (Eso 15,14; Is 13,8) 8 Durch den Ostwind zertrümmerst du die Tarsisschiffe. (1Re 22,49) 9 Wie wir gehört haben, so haben wir es gesehen in der Stadt des HERRN der Heerscharen, in der Stadt unseres Gottes; Gott wird sie fest gründen bis in Ewigkeit. // (1Re 10,6; Sal 87,5) 10 Wir haben nachgedacht, Gott, über deine Gnade im Innern deines Tempels. 11 Wie dein Name, Gott, so ist dein Ruhm bis an die Enden der Erde; mit Gerechtigkeit ist gefüllt deine Rechte. (Mal 1,11) 12 Es freue sich der Berg Zion, es sollen jauchzen die Töchter Judas wegen deiner Gerichte! (Sal 97,8) 13 Zieht rund um Zion und umkreist ihn, zählt seine Türme; 14 richtet euer Herz auf seine Wälle, mustert[1] seine Paläste, damit ihr erzählt der künftigen Generation: (Sal 71,18) 15 Ja, dieser ist Gott, unser Gott immer und ewig! Er wird uns leiten[2]. (Sal 90,2; Sal 95,7; Sal 105,7; Is 58,11)

1 A Song. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised in the city of our God! His holy mountain, (Sal 2,6; Sal 42,1; Sal 46,1; Sal 46,4; Sal 87,1; Sal 96,4; Sal 145,3; Is 2,3; Mi 4,1; Zac 8,3) 2 beautiful in elevation, is the joy of all the earth, Mount Zion, in the far north, the city of the great King. (Sal 50,2; Lam 2,15; Ez 20,6; Mat 5,35) 3 Within her citadels God has made himself known as a fortress. 4 For behold, the kings assembled; they came on together. (2Sam 10,6) 5 As soon as they saw it, they were astounded; they were in panic; they took to flight. 6 Trembling took hold of them there, anguish as of a woman in labor. (Eso 15,15; Is 13,8; Os 13,13) 7 By the east wind you shattered the ships of Tarshish. (1Re 10,22; 1Re 22,48; Ger 18,17; Ez 27,26) 8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God, which God will establish forever. (Sal 48,1; Sal 87,5; Is 2,2; Mi 4,1) 9 We have thought on your steadfast love, O God, in the midst of your temple. (Sal 26,3; Sal 40,10) 10 As your name, O God, so your praise reaches to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is filled with righteousness. (Eso 34,5; De 28,58; Sal 22,27; Sal 113,3; Mal 1,11; Mal 1,14) 11 Let Mount Zion be glad! Let the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your judgments! (Sal 97,8) 12 Walk about Zion, go around her, number her towers, 13 consider well her ramparts, go through her citadels, that you may tell the next generation (Sal 78,4; Sal 122,7) 14 that this is God, our God forever and ever. He will guide us forever.[1] (Sal 23,3)

1 A Song and Psalm for the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. 2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. 3 God is known in her palaces for a refuge. 4 For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together. 5 They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away. 6 Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail. 7 Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind. 8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah. 9 We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple. 10 According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness. 11 Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments. 12 Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof. 13 Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following. 14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
