Preghiera per il popolo oppresso

1 Canto dei pellegrinaggi. A te alzo gli occhi, a te che siedi nei cieli! 

2 Ecco, come gli occhi dei servi guardano la mano del loro padrone, come gli occhi della serva guardano la mano della sua padrona, così gli occhi nostri sono rivolti al Signore, al nostro Dio, finché egli abbia pietà di noi. 

3 Abbi pietà di noi, Signore, abbi pietà di noi, perché siamo più che sazi di disprezzo. 

4 L’anima nostra è più che sazia dello scherno degli orgogliosi e del disprezzo dei superbi.

Psalm 123

1 Ein Wallfahrtslied. Zu dir hebe ich meine Augen auf, der du im Himmel thronst. (Sal 2,4; Sal 121,1) 

2 Siehe: Wie die Augen der Knechte auf die Hand ihres Herrn, wie die Augen der Magd auf die Hand ihrer Gebieterin, so sind unsere Augen ⟨gerichtet⟩ auf den HERRN, unseren Gott, bis er uns gnädig ist. (2Cr 20,12; Sal 25,15) 

3 Sei uns gnädig, HERR, sei uns gnädig! Denn reichlich sind wir mit Verachtung gesättigt. (Sal 44,14) 

4 Reichlich ist unsere Seele gesättigt mit dem Spott der Sorglosen, mit der Verachtung der Hochmütigen. (Eb 11,36)

Our Eyes Look to the Lord Our God

1 A Song of Ascents. To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens! (Sal 2,4; Sal 25,15; Sal 120,1; Sal 121,1; Sal 141,8) 

2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he has mercy upon us. 

3 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us, for we have had more than enough of contempt. (Ne 4,4; Sal 4,1) 

4 Our soul has had more than enough of the scorn of those who are at ease, of the contempt of the proud. (Ne 2,19; Sal 119,51; Is 32,9; Is 32,11; Am 6,1)

1 A Song of degrees. Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens. 

2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us. 

3 Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt. 

4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.
