Salmo 124

(Sal 20,8; Sal 115,15)

1 A Song of Ascents. Of David. If it had not been the Lord who was on our side— let Israel now say— (Sal 94,17; Sal 120,1; Sal 129,1)2 if it had not been the Lord who was on our side when people rose up against us,3 then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us; (Sal 56,1)4 then the flood would have swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us; (Giob 22,11; Sal 32,6; Sal 69,1; Sal 69,2; Is 8,8)5 then over us would have gone the raging waters.6 Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us as prey to their teeth!7 We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped! (Sal 91,3)8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. (Sal 121,2)

Salmo 124

King James Version

1 A Song of degrees of David. If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.6 Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
