Nádej pre kazdého

Ježiš sa obracia k zástupom

1 Medzitým sa okolo neho zhromaždili neprehľadné zástupy, dobre že sa navzájom nepošliapali. Ježiš však najprv prehovoril k svojim učeníkom: „Predovšetkým sa varujte pokrytectva. Je ako kvas, ktorý ľahko prenikne celé cesto. 2 Nič sa nedá navždy zatajiť, aby sa raz neodhalilo, a nič nie je natoľko utajené, aby sa raz nespoznalo. 3 Všetko, čo ste povedali potme, bude sa počuť na svetle. A čo ste si šeptali za zatvorenými dvermi, bude sa hlásať zo striech.“

Koho sa báť

4 „Vám, svojim priateľom, radím: Nebojte sa tých, ktorí môžu zabiť telo, ale nič viac vám urobiť nemôžu. 5 Poviem vám, koho sa máte báť. Bojte sa toho, kto má moc vás zabiť aj uvrhnúť do pekla. 6 Koľko stojí päť vrabcov? Pár halierov, nie viac. A pritom Boh nezabudne ani na jedného z nich. 7 Aj vlasy na vašej hlave sú všetky zrátané. A preto sa nebojte, lebo máte v jeho očiach väčšiu cenu ako celý kŕdeľ vrabcov.“

Odvaha vyznávať Krista

8 „A ubezpečujem vás, že toho, kto sa tu na zemi verejne prizná ku mne ako k svojmu priateľovi, k tomu sa aj ja priznám v nebi. 9 Ale zapriem pred anjelmi toho, kto mňa zaprel pred ľuďmi. 10 Každý, kto hovorí proti mne, môže získať odpustenie. Ale tomu, kto sa rúha Svätému Duchu, tomu odpustené nebude. 11 A keď vás budú vypočúvať pred úradmi a súdmi, keď vás povedú do synagóg, netrápte sa, čo poviete na svoju obhajobu, 12 lebo Duch Svätý vám to v tej chvíli vnukne.“

Podobenstvo o lakomom boháčovi

13 Ktosi zo zástupu ho poprosil: „Majstre, povedz môjmu bratovi, aby sa so mnou spravodlivo rozdelil o dedičstvo.“ 14 Ježiš mu odpovedal: „Nie som tu nato, aby som vás delil, alebo rozsudzoval vaše spory.“ 15 A všetkým povedal: „Varujte sa chamtivosti, lebo zmyslom života nie je hromadenie bohatstva.“ 16 A svoje slová doplnil týmto podobenstvom: „Jednému bohatému človeku sa na poliach urodilo tak veľa, 17 že nemal kde uskladniť úrodu. Rozmýšľal, čo urobiť, 18 až napokon zvolal:‚Už to mám! Staré stodoly zbúram, postavím väčšie a všetky zásoby uložím do nich. 19 Potom si budem môcť odpočinúť a poviem si: Teraz máš zásoby na mnohé roky, pokojne si ži, jedz, pi a zabávaj sa.‘ 20 Ale Boh mu povedal:‚Blázon, už tejto noci umrieš, a komu zostane to, čo si si nahromadil?‘ 21 Áno, každý človek je blázon, kto si hromadí majetky na zemi, a nie v nebi!“

Netrápte sa o svoj život

22 Potom sa obrátil k svojim učeníkom a povedal im: „Netrápte sa o svoj život, o to, čo budete jesť, piť a či si budete mať čo obliecť. 23 Život je viac ako pokrm a nápoj a telo je dôležitejšie ako šaty. 24 Všimnite si havrany! Nesejú, nežnú, nemajú stodoly, a Boh ich živí. A vy máte predsa pre neho väčšiu cenu ako vtáci! 25 Mimochodom, čo by vám pomohli starosti? Nech by ste sa starali akokoľvek, môžete si život predĺžiť čo len o hodinu? Určite nie! 26 Ak trápením nevyriešite ani takéto maličkosti, prečo sa trápite o ostatné? 27 Všimnite si poľné kvety. Nepradú, netkajú, a predsa ani Šalamún v celej svojej nádhere nebol tak skvostne oblečený ako ktorýkoľvek z nich. 28 Keď teda Boh tak krásne odieva kvety, ktoré dnes kvitnú a zajtra uvädnú, či sa tým skôr nepostará o vás, ľudia malej viery? 29 A tak sa toľko netrápte tým, čo budete jesť a piť. 30 Za tým sa pachtia hlavne tí, ktorí nepoznajú Boha. Váš nebeský Otec vie, že aj tieto veci potrebujete. 31 No usilujte sa predovšetkým o Božie kráľovstvo, a on vám pridá všetko, čo budete potrebovať. 32 A nebojte sa o budúcnosť, hoci je vás len hŕstka! Váš Otec vám chce darovať kráľovstvo. 33 Nelipnite na tom, čo máte, ale rozdávajte tým, čo potrebujú. Takto si uložíte poklady v nebesiach, kde ich nijaký zlodej neukradne ani mole nerozožerú. 34 A tam, kde je váš poklad, bude aj vaše srdce.“

Pán príde nečakane. Buďte pripravení!

35 „Buďte pripravení, oblečení a majte rozsvietené lampy. 36 Buďte ako sluhovia, ktorí čakajú na svojho Pána, kedy príde zo svadby, aby mu otvorili dvere ihneď, ako zaklope. 37 Veľká radosť čaká tých, ktorí bdejú a čakajú na jeho návrat. On sám ich usadí za stôl, vezme si zásteru a sám ich bude obsluhovať. 38 Šťastní budú tí, ktorých Pán nájde bdieť, či príde zvečera, o polnoci alebo až na svitaní. 39 A uvedomte si, že keby pán domu vedel, kedy príde zlodej, nedovolil by mu vlámať sa do svojho domu. 40 Tak aj vy buďte vždy pripravení, lebo Syn človeka príde vtedy, keď s tým budete najmenej rátať.“

Podobenstvo o vernom sluhovi

41 Peter sa ho spýtal: „Pane, to vravíš len nám, alebo to platí pre všetkých?“ 42 Ježiš odpovedal: „Hovoril som o vernom a rozumnom správcovi, ktorého pán poveril, aby rozdeľoval pokrm ostatným pracovníkom. 43 Ak sa pán vráti a zistí, že dobre koná svoju prácu, 44 odmení ho a zverí mu do správy všetko, čo má. 45 Ale beda takému správcovi, ktorý by si povedal:‚Môj pán sa tak skoro nevráti,‘ a začal by zle zaobchádzať s tými, ktorí mu boli zverení, sám by hodoval a opíjal sa. 46 Keď sa jeho pán nečakane vráti, vyženie ho a naloží s ním ako s neverným sluhom. 47 Kruto ho potrestá, lebo vedel, čo má robiť, ale nerobil to. 48 No sluha, ktorý nepozná vôľu svojho pána a vykoná niečo trestuhodné, dostane miernejší trest. Lebo kto mnoho dostal, od toho sa aj mnoho očakáva, a komu mnoho zverili, od toho sa bude aj mnoho požadovať.“

Ježiš príčinou rozdelenia

49 „Prišiel som zapáliť oheň na zemi, a aký by som bol rád, keby už vzbĺkol. 50 Najprv však musím prejsť krstom utrpenia. A ako mi je úzko, kým sa to stane! 51 Domnievate sa, že som prišiel darovať zemi pokoj? Nie, skôr nezhody a rozbroje. 52 Odteraz sa aj rodiny rozdelia: traja budú za mňa a dvaja proti mne, alebo naopak. 53 Otec bude proti synovi a syn proti otcovi; matka a dcéra budú proti sebe a nevesta proti svokre.“

Rozoznávanie znamení času

54 Potom sa obrátil k zástupom a povedal: „Keď vidíte, že sa na západe sťahujú mračná, hneď poviete, že bude pršať. A máte pravdu. 55 A keď začne fúkať južný vietor, poviete:‚Dnes bude horúčava,‘ a naozaj je horúce. 56 Prefíkanci! Znamenia na nebi si viete vysvetliť, prečo potom nechcete vidieť znamenia týchto čias? 57 Prečo sami od seba nie ste schopní usúdiť, čo je správne?“

Zmierenie s protivníkom

58 „Ak ideš so svojím protivníkom na súd, usiluj sa dohodnúť s ním už cestou. Inak ťa zavlečie k sudcovi, sudca ťa vydá dozorcovi a dozorca ťa uvrhne do väzenia. 59 A nevyjdeš odtiaľ skôr, kým svoju dlžobu nezaplatíš do posledného haliera.“

Beware of the Leaven of the Pharisees

Have No Fear

The Parable of the Rich Fool

Not Peace, but Division

49 “I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled! (Mt 3,11) 50 I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished! (Mk 10,38; 2 Kor 5,14) 51 Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. (Mt 10,34; Zjv 6,4) 52 For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” (Mich 7,6; Mt 10,21)

Interpreting the Time

54 He also said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, you say at once, ‘A shower is coming.’ And so it happens. (1 Kr 18,43; Mt 16,2) 55 And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, ‘There will be scorching heat,’ and it happens. (Mt 20,12; Lk 12,54) 56 You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of earth and sky, but why do you not know how to interpret the present time? (Mt 16,3)

Settle with Your Accuser

57 “And why do you not judge for yourselves what is right? (Lk 21,30; Jn 7,24; 1 Kor 11,13) 58 As you go with your accuser before the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest he drag you to the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer put you in prison. (Prís 25,8; Mt 5,25) 59 I tell you, you will never get out until you have paid the very last penny.”^[10] (Mt 18,34; Mk 12,42; Lk 21,2)
