Psalm 46

New International Version

For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to alamoth. A song.

1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.^[1] 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.^[2] 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. 5 God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day. 6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts. 7 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. 8 Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields^[3] with fire. 10 He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’ 11 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

1 Dem Chorleiter. Von den Söhnen Korachs. Nach Alamoth^[1]. Ein Lied. (1Ch 15:20; Ps 42:1) 2 Gott ist uns Zuflucht und Stärke, als Beistand in Nöten reichlich gefunden. (Ps 28:7; Ps 37:39; Ps 59:17; Ps 62:8; Ps 91:2; Ps 142:6)

3 Darum fürchten wir uns nicht, wenn auch die Erde erbebt und die Berge mitten ins Meer wanken. (Isa 54:10) 4 Mögen seine Wasser tosen und schäumen, die Berge erbeben durch sein Aufbäumen! // (Ps 93:3; Isa 8:7) 5 Des Stromes Läufe erfreuen die Stadt Gottes, die heiligste der Wohnungen des Höchsten^[2]. (Re 22:1) 6 Gott ist in ihrer Mitte, sie wird nicht wanken; Gott wird ihr helfen früh am Morgen. (Ps 125:1; Eze 48:35; Re 22:3) 7 Nationen tobten, Königreiche wankten. 9 Kommt, schaut die Großtaten des HERRN, der Entsetzen verbreitet auf Erden! (Ps 66:5; Isa 10:23) 10 Der Kriege beschwichtigt bis ans Ende der Erde, Bogen zerbricht und Speere zerschlägt, Wagen mit Feuer verbrennt. (Jos 11:9; Ps 37:15; Mic 4:3) 11 Lasst ab und erkennt, dass ich Gott bin; ich werde erhöht sein unter den Nationen, erhöht auf der Erde. (2Ch 20:6) 12 Der HERR der Heerscharen ist mit uns, eine Festung ist uns der Gott Jakobs. // (Ps 146:5)
