Psalm 114

New International Version

1 When Israel came out of Egypt, Jacob from a people of foreign tongue, 

2 Judah became God’s sanctuary, Israel his dominion. 

3 The sea looked and fled, the Jordan turned back; 

4 the mountains leaped like rams, the hills like lambs. 

5 Why was it, sea, that you fled? Why, Jordan, did you turn back? 

6 Why, mountains, did you leap like rams, you hills, like lambs? 

7 Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, 

8 who turned the rock into a pool, the hard rock into springs of water.

1 Als Israel aus Ägypten zog, das Haus Jakob aus dem Volk, das unverständlich redete, (Ex 12:41; Ps 81:6) 

2 da wurde Juda sein Heiligtum, Israel sein Herrschaftsbereich. (Ex 19:6; De 7:6) 

3 Das Meer sah es und floh, der Jordan wandte sich zurück. (Ex 14:21; Jos 3:16; Ps 74:15) 

4 Die Berge hüpften wie Widder, die Hügel wie Lämmer. (Ex 19:18; Ps 29:6) 

5 Was ⟨war mit⟩ dir, Meer, dass du flohst? ⟨Mit⟩ dir, Jordan, dass du dich zurückwandtest? 

6 ⟨Mit⟩ euch, Berge, dass ihr hüpftet wie Widder? ⟨Mit⟩ euch, Hügel, ⟨dass ihr hüpftet⟩ wie Lämmer? 

7 Erbebe vor dem Herrn, Erde, vor dem Gott Jakobs, (Isa 64:1) 

8 der den Felsen verwandelte in einen Wasserteich, den Kieselfelsen in einen Wasserquell! (Ex 17:6; Nu 20:11; Ps 78:16)
