Die Wohnung des Herrn soll aufgebaut und geweiht werden

1 Der HERR sagte zu Mose: 

2 »Am ersten Tag des neuen Jahres sollst du das Zelt der Begegnung aufbauen, in dem ich wohnen will. 

3 Bring die Bundeslade mit den Gesetzestafeln hinein und häng den Vorhang auf, der sie abschirmen soll. 

4 Trag den Tisch ´für die geweihten Brote ins Zelt` und deck ihn mit den dazugehörigen Gefäßen. Stell den Leuchter an seinen Platz und setz ihm die Öllampen oben ´auf die Arme`. 

5 Platziere den goldenen Räucheraltar vor dem Vorhang zum Allerheiligsten und befestige den Vorhang am Eingang meiner Wohnung. 

6 Stell den Brandopferaltar vor dem Eingang des Begegnungszeltes auf, in dem ich wohnen will. 

7 Platziere das Wasserbecken zwischen dem Begegnungszelt und dem Altar und fülle es mit Wasser. 

8 Errichte die Umzäunung, die den Hof ringsum einschließt, und bring den Vorhang am Eingang des Hofes an. 

9 ´Wenn alles aufgebaut ist`, sollst du das Salböl nehmen und meine Wohnung mit allem, was sich darin befindet, salben. Dadurch weihst du sie ´mir`, und sie wird mitsamt ihrer ganzen Einrichtung zu einer heiligen Stätte. 

10 Salbe auch den Brandopferaltar mit seinem gesamten Zubehör, um ihn ´mir` zu weihen. Er wird dadurch zu einem besonders heiligen Gegenstand. 

11 Auch das Wasserbecken und sein Untergestell sollst du salben und ´mir` weihen. 

12 Bring anschließend Aaron und seine Söhne ´zu mir` an den Eingang des Begegnungszeltes und wasche sie. 

13 Kleide Aaron mit den heiligen Gewändern ein, salbe ihn und weihe ihn, damit er mir als Priester dient. 

14 Dann lass seine Söhne vortreten, bekleide sie mit den Leinengewändern 

15 und salbe sie auf die gleiche Weise wie ihren Vater. ´Auch` sie sollen mir als Priester dienen. Durch die Salbung wird ihnen und ihren Nachkommen für alle Zeit das Priesteramt übertragen.« 

Die Wohnung des Herrn wird aufgebaut und geweiht

16 Mose führte alle Anweisungen aus, die er vom HERRN empfangen hatte. 

17 Ein Jahr ´nach dem Auszug aus Ägypten`, am ersten Tag des ersten Monats, wurde die Wohnung ´des HERRN` aufgestellt. 

18 Mose leitete den gesamten Aufbau. Er ließ die Sockel auslegen, die Stützrahmen hineinstecken, die Querstangen anbringen und die Säulen ´für die Vorhänge` aufstellen. 

19 Dann ließ er die Decken ´aus Ziegenwolle` über die Wohnung legen und das Zeltdach darüber ´spannen`. Dabei hielt Mose sich an die Anweisungen, die er vom HERRN empfangen hatte. 

20 Anschließend legte er die Gesetzestafeln in die Bundeslade. Er ließ die Tragestangen anbringen und die Deckplatte auf die Lade setzen. (2Mo 25,17) 

21 Dann ließ er die Lade in die Wohnung bringen und den Trennvorhang, der sie abschirmen sollte, aufhängen. Das entsprach den Anweisungen, die Mose vom HERRN empfangen hatte. 

22 Anschließend ließ er den Tisch in das Zelt der Begegnung bringen und außerhalb des Trennvorhangs an die Nordseite der Wohnung stellen. 

23 Dann legte er darauf die ´geweihten` Brote vor dem HERRN aus. Auch hierin befolgte Mose die Anweisungen, die er vom HERRN empfangen hatte. 

24 Als Nächstes ließ er den Leuchter ins Zelt der Begegnung bringen und ihn dem Tisch gegenüber an die Südseite der Wohnung stellen. 

25 Dann setzte er die Lampen ´auf die Arme des Leuchters`, damit er vor dem HERRN leuchten konnte. Auch das entsprach den Anweisungen, die Mose vom HERRN empfangen hatte. 

26 Schließlich ließ er den goldenen ´Räucher` altar in das Zelt der Begegnung bringen und vor dem Trennvorhang aufstellen. 

27 Mose brachte wohlriechendes Räucherwerk auf ihm dar. In allem hielt er sich an die Anweisungen, die er vom HERRN empfangen hatte. 

28 Danach ließ er am Eingang der Wohnung den ´dafür vorgesehenen` Vorhang befestigen 

29 und vor dem Eingang den Brandopferaltar aufstellen. Mose opferte darauf Brand- und Speiseopfer. Auch dabei richtete er sich nach den Anweisungen, die er vom HERRN empfangen hatte. 

30 Zwischen dem Zelt der Begegnung und dem Brandopferaltar ließ er das Wasserbecken aufstellen und mit Wasser füllen, damit man sich dort waschen konnte. 

31 Mose, Aaron und Aarons Söhne sollten dort ihre Hände und Füße reinigen. 

32 Diese Reinigung sollten sie jedes Mal vornehmen, bevor sie das Zelt der Begegnung betraten oder am Altar opferten. So lauteten die Anweisungen, die Mose vom HERRN empfangen hatte. 

33 Zuletzt ließ Mose die Umzäunung für den Hof errichten, der das Heiligtum und den Altar umgab, und den Vorhang am Eingang des Hofes aufhängen. So vollendete Mose den Bau ´des Heiligtums`. 

Die Herrlichkeit des Herrn erfüllt die neu errichtete Wohnung

34 Da kam die Wolke ´des HERRN` auf das Begegnungszelt herab, und seine herrliche Gegenwart erfüllte die ´neu errichtete` Wohnung. 

35 Mose konnte das Zelt nicht betreten, denn die Wolke hüllte es ein, und die ´ganze` Wohnung war von der Herrlichkeit des HERRN durchflutet. 

36 Solange die Israeliten unterwegs waren, ´richteten sie sich nach der Wolke`: Wenn die Wolke sich von der Wohnung des HERRN erhob, brach das Volk auf. 

37 Erhob sie sich nicht, blieb es ´an seinem Lagerplatz`, bis die Wolke weiterzog. 

38 Während ihrer ganzen Wanderschaft konnten die Israeliten tagsüber die Wolke über der Wohnung des HERRN sehen, und nachts leuchtete ´für alle sichtbar` ein Feuerschein in ihr.

Die Aufrichtung und Einweihung der Stiftshütte

1 Und der HERR redete mit Mose und sprach: 

2 Am ersten Tag des ersten Monats sollst du die Wohnung, die Stiftshütte, aufrichten. (2Mo 12,2; 2Mo 13,4; 2Mo 40,17) 

3 Und du sollst die Lade des Zeugnisses hineinsetzen und die Lade mit dem Vorhang verhüllen. (2Mo 26,33; 4Mo 4,5) 

4 Und du sollst den Tisch hineinbringen und auf ihn legen, was daraufgehört, und du sollst den Leuchter hineinbringen und die Lampen daraufsetzen. (2Mo 26,35; 3Mo 24,5) 

5 Und du sollst den goldenen Räucheraltar vor die Lade des Zeugnisses setzen und den Vorhang am Eingang der Wohnung aufhängen. (2Mo 26,36; 2Mo 30,1; 2Mo 36,37) 

6 Den Brandopferaltar aber sollst du vor den Eingang der Wohnung, der Stiftshütte, setzen; (2Mo 27,1) 

7 und stelle das Becken zwischen die Stiftshütte und den Altar, und fülle Wasser hinein. (2Mo 38,8) 

8 Und du sollst den Vorhof ringsum aufrichten und den Vorhang an den Eingang des Vorhofs hängen. (2Mo 27,9; 2Mo 38,9; 2Mo 40,33) 

9 Und du sollst das Salböl nehmen und die Wohnung salben, samt allem, was darin ist; und du sollst sie heiligen samt allen ihren Geräten, damit sie heilig sei. (2Mo 30,25; 4Mo 7,1) 

10 Und du sollst den Brandopferaltar salben mit allen seinen Geräten, und den Altar heiligen, damit der Altar hochheilig sei. (2Mo 29,36; 3Mo 8,10) 

11 Du sollst auch das Becken salben samt seinem Gestell und es heiligen. (2Mo 30,18; 3Mo 8,11) 

12 Und du sollst Aaron und seine Söhne vor den Eingang der Stiftshütte führen und sie mit Wasser waschen; (2Mo 29,4; 3Mo 8,6) 

13 und bekleide Aaron mit den heiligen Kleidern und salbe ihn und heilige ihn, damit er mir als Priester diene. (2Mo 28,41; 2Mo 29,7) 

14 Auch seine Söhne sollst du herbeiführen und sie mit den Leibröcken bekleiden; (2Mo 29,8) 

15 und du sollst sie salben, wie du ihren Vater gesalbt hast, damit sie mir als Priester dienen. Und diese Salbung soll für sie ein ewiges Priestertum bedeuten für alle ihre Geschlechter. (2Mo 28,41; 2Mo 29,29; 3Mo 8,30) 

16 Und Mose tat alles, wie es ihm der HERR geboten hatte; genau so machte er es. (2Mo 25,9; 2Mo 25,40; 2Mo 39,26; 2Mo 39,31; 2Mo 39,43) 

17 Und es geschah im zweiten Jahr, am ersten Tag des ersten Monats, da wurde die Wohnung aufgerichtet. (4Mo 7,1) 

18 Und Mose richtete die Wohnung auf; und er stellte die Füße auf und setzte die Bretter darauf und befestigte ihre Riegel und richtete die Säulen auf. 

19 Und er breitete das Zelt aus über die Wohnung und legte die Decke des Zeltes obendrauf, so wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. (2Mo 26,1; 2Mo 36,8) 

20 Und er nahm das Zeugnis und legte es in die Lade und steckte die Tragstangen an die Lade, und er legte den Sühnedeckel oben auf die Lade. (2Mo 25,16; 2Mo 25,21; Hebr 9,4) 

21 Und er brachte die Lade in die Wohnung und hängte den verhüllenden Vorhang auf und verhüllte die Lade des Zeugnisses, so wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. (2Mo 25,10; 2Mo 26,31; 2Mo 26,34; 2Mo 35,12; Hebr 10,19) 

22 Und er setzte den Tisch in die Stiftshütte, an die Nordseite der Wohnung, außerhalb des Vorhangs, (2Mo 25,23; 2Mo 37,10) 

23 und er schichtete die Brote darauf vor dem HERRN, so wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. (2Mo 25,30; 3Mo 24,5; Hebr 9,2) 

24 Er stellte auch den Leuchter in die Stiftshütte, dem Tisch gegenüber, an die Südseite der Wohnung, (2Mo 25,31; 2Mo 37,17; Ps 119,105; Joh 8,12) 

25 und setzte Lampen darauf vor dem HERRN, so wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. (2Mo 25,37; 2Mo 37,23; 2Mo 40,4) 

26 Und er stellte den goldenen Altar in die Stiftshütte, vor den Vorhang, (2Mo 30,1; 2Mo 40,5) 

27 und räucherte darauf mit wohlriechendem Räucherwerk, so wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. (2Mo 30,7) 

28 Und er hängte den Vorhang für den Eingang der Wohnung auf. (2Mo 26,36; 2Mo 40,5) 

29 Aber den Brandopferaltar setzte er vor den Eingang der Wohnung, der Stiftshütte, und opferte darauf Brandopfer und Speisopfer, so wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. (2Mo 27,1; 2Mo 38,1) 

30 Das Becken aber stellte er zwischen die Stiftshütte und den Altar und füllte Wasser hinein zum Waschen; (2Mo 30,18) 

31 und Mose, Aaron und seine Söhne wuschen ihre Hände und Füße daraus. (Joh 13,5) 

32 Sie wuschen sich, sooft sie in die Stiftshütte gingen und zum Altar traten, so wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. (2Mo 30,19) 

33 Und er richtete den Vorhof auf rings um die Wohnung und um den Altar, und hängte den Vorhang für den Eingang des Vorhofs auf. So vollendete Mose das Werk. (2Mo 27,9; 2Mo 27,16; 2Mo 38,9; 2Mo 38,18) 

Die Herrlichkeit des Herrn erfüllt die Stiftshütte

34 Da bedeckte die Wolke die Stiftshütte, und die Herrlichkeit des HERRN erfüllte die Wohnung. (2Mo 16,10; 2Mo 24,15; 2Mo 24,16; 2Mo 34,5; 2Mo 40,36; 2Mo 40,38; 3Mo 9,23; 4Mo 9,15; 4Mo 10,12; 4Mo 10,34; 5Mo 33,26; 1Kön 8,10; 2Chr 5,14; Hes 9,3; Hes 10,4; Hes 11,22; Hes 43,1) 

35 Und Mose konnte nicht in die Stiftshütte gehen, weil die Wolke darauf ruhte und die Herrlichkeit des HERRN die Wohnung erfüllte. (1Kön 8,11; 2Chr 5,14) 

36 Sooft sich aber die Wolke von der Wohnung erhob, brachen die Kinder Israels auf, während aller ihrer Wanderungen. (2Mo 13,21; 2Mo 40,34; 4Mo 10,11; Neh 9,19; Ps 78,14; 1Kor 10,1) 

37 Wenn sich aber die Wolke nicht erhob, so brachen sie nicht auf bis zu dem Tag, da sie sich erhob. (4Mo 9,15) 

38 Denn die Wolke des HERRN war bei Tag auf der Wohnung, und bei Nacht war Feuer darin vor den Augen des ganzen Hauses Israel, während aller ihrer Wanderungen. (2Mo 13,21; 2Mo 14,19; Ps 105,39; Jes 4,5)

Setting up the tabernacle

1 Then the Lord said to Moses: 

2 ‘Set up the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, on the first day of the first month. 

3 Place the ark of the covenant law in it and shield the ark with the curtain. 

4 Bring in the table and set out what belongs on it. Then bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps. 

5 Place the gold altar of incense in front of the ark of the covenant law and put the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle. 

6 ‘Place the altar of burnt offering in front of the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting; 

7 place the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it. 

8 Set up the courtyard around it and put the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard. 

9 ‘Take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it and all its furnishings, and it will be holy. 

10 Then anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils; consecrate the altar, and it will be most holy. 

11 Anoint the basin and its stand and consecrate them. 

12 ‘Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the tent of meeting and wash them with water. 

13 Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so that he may serve me as priest. 

14 Bring his sons and dress them in tunics. 

15 Anoint them just as you anointed their father, so that they may serve me as priests. Their anointing will be to a priesthood that will continue throughout their generations.’ 

16 Moses did everything just as the Lord commanded him. 

17 So the tabernacle was set up on the first day of the first month in the second year. 

18 When Moses set up the tabernacle, he put the bases in place, erected the frames, inserted the crossbars and set up the posts. 

19 Then he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering over the tent, as the Lord commanded him. 

20 He took the tablets of the covenant law and placed them in the ark, attached the poles to the ark and put the atonement cover over it. 

21 Then he brought the ark into the tabernacle and hung the shielding curtain and shielded the ark of the covenant law, as the Lord commanded him. 

22 Moses placed the table in the tent of meeting on the north side of the tabernacle outside the curtain 

23 and set out the bread on it before the Lord, as the Lord commanded him. 

24 He placed the lampstand in the tent of meeting opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle 

25 and set up the lamps before the Lord, as the Lord commanded him. 

26 Moses placed the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the curtain 

27 and burned fragrant incense on it, as the Lord commanded him. 

28 Then he put up the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle. 

29 He set the altar of burnt offering near the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and offered on it burnt offerings and grain offerings, as the Lord commanded him. 

30 He placed the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing, 

31 and Moses and Aaron and his sons used it to wash their hands and feet. 

32 They washed whenever they entered the tent of meeting or approached the altar, as the Lord commanded Moses. 

33 Then Moses set up the courtyard around the tabernacle and altar and put up the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard. And so Moses finished the work. 

The glory of the Lord

34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 

35 Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 

36 In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; 

37 but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out – until the day it lifted. 

38 So the cloud of the Lord was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels.

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 

2 On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation. 

3 And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail. 

4 And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof. 

5 And thou shalt set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the hanging of the door to the tabernacle. 

6 And thou shalt set the altar of the burnt offering before the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation. 

7 And thou shalt set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and shalt put water therein. 

8 And thou shalt set up the court round about, and hang up the hanging at the court gate. 

9 And thou shalt take the anointing oil, and anoint the tabernacle, and all that is therein, and shalt hallow it, and all the vessels thereof: and it shall be holy. 

10 And thou shalt anoint the altar of the burnt offering, and all his vessels, and sanctify the altar: and it shall be an altar most holy. 

11 And thou shalt anoint the laver and his foot, and sanctify it. 

12 And thou shalt bring Aaron and his sons unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and wash them with water. 

13 And thou shalt put upon Aaron the holy garments, and anoint him, and sanctify him; that he may minister unto me in the priest' office. 

14 And thou shalt bring his sons, and clothe them with coats: 

15 And thou shalt anoint them, as thou didst anoint their father, that they may minister unto me in the priest' office: for their anointing shall surely be an everlasting priesthood throughout their generations. 

16 Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he. 

17 And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was reared up. 

18 And Moses reared up the tabernacle, and fastened his sockets, and set up the boards thereof, and put in the bars thereof, and reared up his pillars. 

19 And he spread abroad the tent over the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it; as the LORD commanded Moses. 

20 And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark: 

21 And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses. 

22 And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the vail. 

23 And he set the bread in order upon it before the LORD; as the LORD had commanded Moses. 

24 And he put the candlestick in the tent of the congregation, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward. 

25 And he lighted the lamps before the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses. 

26 And he put the golden altar in the tent of the congregation before the vail: 

27 And he burnt sweet incense thereon; as the LORD commanded Moses. 

28 And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle. 

29 And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering and the meat offering; as the LORD commanded Moses. 

30 And he set the laver between the tent of the congregation and the altar, and put water there, to wash withal . 

31 And Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet thereat: 

32 When they went into the tent of the congregation, and when they came near unto the altar, they washed; as the LORD commanded Moses. 

33 And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work. 

34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 

35 And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 

36 And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys: 

37 But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up. 

38 For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.
