1Aus blauer, purpurfarbener und karmesinroter ´Wolle` webten ´die Kunsthandwerker` die Dienstkleidung für das Heiligtum[1] und die heiligen Gewänder für Aaron. ´Alle Arbeiten wurden` nach den Anweisungen ´ausgeführt`, die Mose vom HERRN empfangen hatte.
Der Priesterschurz
2Bezalel und seine Mitarbeiter fertigten[2] den Priesterschurz aus Gold, blauer, purpurfarbener und karmesinroter ´Wolle` sowie gezwirntem Leinen. (2Mo 35,30; 2Mo 36,2)3Das Gold hämmerten sie in dünne Bleche, zerschnitten es in Fäden und verwebten es in kunstvoller Arbeit mit der Wolle[3] und den Leinenfäden.4Sie versahen ´den Priesterschurz` mit Schulterstücken und befestigten diese links und rechts mit Trägern.[4] (2Mo 28,7)5Außerdem brachten sie einen Gürtel an, der wie der Schurz selbst aus Gold ´fäden`, blauer, purpurfarbener und karmesinroter ´Wolle` und gezwirntem Leinen gewebt war. ´Alle Arbeiten wurden` nach den Anweisungen ´ausgeführt`, die Mose vom HERRN empfangen hatte.6Die Kunsthandwerker fassten ´zwei` Onyxsteine in Gold, gravierten darauf in Siegelschneidetechnik die Namen der Stämme Israels[5] ein7und befestigten sie auf den beiden Schulterstücken des Priesterschurzes. Die Steine sollten als Gedenksteine ´dienen: sie sollten` die Israeliten ´beim HERRN` in Erinnerung bringen. ´Alle Arbeiten wurden` nach den Anweisungen ´ausgeführt`, die Mose vom HERRN empfangen hatte.
Die Brusttasche
8Die Brusttasche webten Bezalel und seine Mitarbeiter auf die gleiche kunstvolle Weise wie den Priesterschurz und verwendeten dafür ´ebenfalls` Gold ´fäden`, blaue, purpurfarbene und karmesinrote ´Wolle` sowie gezwirntes Leinen.9Den Stoff legten sie doppelt, so dass sich daraus eine quadratische Tasche ergab, 25 mal 25 Zentimeter groß.[6]10Dann besetzten sie die Brusttasche mit vier Reihen von Edelsteinen: Die erste Reihe bestand aus einem Rubin, einem Smaragd und einem Topas[7],11die zweite aus einem Karfunkel, einem Lapislazuli und einem Quarzkristall,12die dritte aus einem Türkis, einem Achat und einem Amethyst13und die vierte aus einem Aquamarin, einem ´schwarzen` Onyx und einem Opal.[8] Alle Steine waren in Gold gefasst.14Insgesamt waren es zwölf Steine, entsprechend der Zahl der Stämme Israels[9]. Auf jedem Stein war in Siegelschneidetechnik ein Name eingraviert, so dass alle zwölf Stämme vertreten waren.15Außerdem fertigten ´die Kunsthandwerker` für die Brusttasche ´zwei` gedrehte Kettchen aus reinem Gold,16zwei goldene Spangen[10] sowie zwei goldene Ringe. Sie nähten die Ringe an den beiden ´oberen` Ecken der Brusttasche an17und fädelten die gedrehten Goldkettchen durch die Ringe.18Die Enden der beiden Kettchen befestigten sie an den Spangen und brachten diese vorne an den Schulterstücken des Priesterschurzes an.19Sie stellten zwei ´weitere` Ringe aus reinem Gold her und nähten sie so an die unteren Ecken der Brusttasche, dass sie sich auf der Rückseite befanden, die auf dem Priesterschurz auflag.20Danach fertigten sie ´noch` zwei ´weitere` goldene Ringe und brachten sie vorne an den ´Trägern der` Schulterstücke des Priesterschurzes an, und zwar ziemlich weit unten, direkt über dem Gürtel, in der Nähe des Verschlusses.21Sie banden die Brusttasche am Priesterschurz fest, indem sie blaue Schnüre von den Ringen an der Brusttasche zu den Ringen am Schurz führten. So blieb die Tasche ´an ihrem Platz` über dem Gürtel und baumelte nicht vor dem Schurz hin und her. ´Alle Arbeiten wurden` nach den Anweisungen ´ausgeführt`, die Mose vom HERRN empfangen hatte.
Das Obergewand
22Das Obergewand, das unter dem Priesterschurz getragen werden sollte, fertigten Bezalel und seine Mitarbeiter vollständig aus blau gefärbtem ´Stoff`.23Die Halsöffnung verstärkten sie ähnlich wie bei einem Panzerhemd[11] mit einer Borte, damit die Öffnung nicht ausriss. (2Mo 28,32)24Am ´unteren` Saum des Gewands brachten sie ringsum ´kleine` Granatäpfel aus blauer, purpurfarbener und karmesinroter[12] ´Wolle` an.25Außerdem fertigten sie Glöckchen aus reinem Gold an und befestigten diese so zwischen den Granatäpfeln,26dass am ganzen Gewandsaum ringsum immer abwechselnd ein Goldglöckchen und ein Granatäpfelchen hing. ´Dieses Gewand sollte Aaron` beim Dienst ´im Heiligtum tragen`. ´Alle Arbeiten wurden` nach den Anweisungen ´ausgeführt`, die Mose vom HERRN empfangen hatte.
Die Leinengewänder, das Schild auf der Stirn und der Turban
27Außerdem stellten ´die Kunsthandwerker` kunstvoll gewebte ´weiße` Leinengewänder für Aaron und seine Söhne her,28dazu ´Aarons` leinenen Turban, die leinenen Kopfbedeckungen ´für seine Söhne` und die Unterhosen aus Leinenstoff.29Den Gürtel ´für Aarons Leinengewand` fertigten sie ebenfalls aus gezwirntem Leinen und bestickten ihn in den Farben Blau, Purpur und Karmesinrot. ´Alle Arbeiten wurden` nach den Anweisungen ´ausgeführt`, die Mose vom HERRN empfangen hatte.30Schließlich fertigten sie das kleine Schild an, das als Stirnreif dienen und die heilige Berufung des Hohenpriesters zum Ausdruck bringen sollte[13], und schrieben darauf in Siegelschneidetechnik die Worte: »Dem HERRN geweiht«[14].31Sie knüpften eine blaue Schnur an das Schild, um es von oben her am Turban zu befestigen. ´Auch dabei wurden alle Arbeiten` nach den Anweisungen ´ausgeführt`, die Mose vom HERRN empfangen hatte.
Fertigstellung der Wohnung des Herrn
32Schließlich war der Bau des Begegnungszeltes, in dem der HERR wohnen wollte[15], abgeschlossen. Die Israeliten hatten alle Arbeiten nach den Anweisungen ausgeführt, die Mose vom HERRN empfangen hatte; sie hatten sich genau daran gehalten.33Sie brachten die Wohnung ´des HERRN` zu Mose: das Zelt mit seinem ganzen Zubehör, also mit den Haken, Stützrahmen, Pfosten und Sockeln;34die Decke aus rotgefärbten Widderfellen und die Decke aus Tachasch-Leder[16] ´für das Zeltdach`; den Vorhang, der ´das Allerheiligste` abschirmen sollte; (2Mo 25,5)35die Lade mit den Gesetzestafeln[17] samt ihren Tragestangen und ihrer Deckplatte;36den Tisch mit all seinen Gefäßen und die geweihten Brote[18]; (2Mo 25,30)37den Leuchter aus reinem ´Gold` mit den aufgesetzten[19] Lampen und seinem Zubehör sowie das Lampenöl;38den goldenen ´Räucher` altar, das Salböl und das wohlriechende Räucherwerk; den Vorhang für den Eingang des Zeltes;39den bronzenen ´Brandopfer` altar mit seinem bronzenen Gitternetz und seinen Tragestangen sowie allem Zubehör; das Wasserbecken mit seinem Untergestell;40die Vorhänge für den Hof mit den dazugehörenden Pfosten und Sockeln; den Vorhang für den Eingang zum Hof; die Seile, die Zeltpflöcke und alle anderen Gegenstände für den Dienst in der Wohnung des HERRN, in der er seinem Volk begegnen wollte[20];41´und schließlich` die besondere Kleidung[21] für den Dienst am Heiligtum, nämlich die heiligen Gewänder für den Hohenpriester Aaron und die priesterlichen Gewänder für seine Söhne.42Die Israeliten hatten alle Arbeiten genau nach den Anweisungen ausgeführt, die Mose vom HERRN empfangen hatte.43Mose begutachtete das ganze Werk und sah, dass die Israeliten sich genau an die Anweisungen des HERRN gehalten hatten. Da segnete er sie.
1Und aus den [Garnen] von blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin machten sie die gewirkten Kleider zum Dienst im Heiligtum und fertigten die heiligen Kleider für Aaron an, so wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. (2Mo 28,2)
Das Ephod
2Und man stellte das Ephod aus Gold her und aus [Garnen von] blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin und aus gezwirntem Leinen. (2Mo 25,7; 2Mo 28,6; 3Mo 8,7)3Die Goldbleche hämmerten sie und schnitten sie zu Fäden, dass man sie kunstvoll hineinwirken konnte in die [Garne] aus blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin und aus gezwirntem Leinen.4Sie machten auch verbindende Schulterstücke daran, an seinen beiden Enden verbunden. (2Mo 28,15; 3Mo 8,8)9Und sie machten das Brustschild viereckig und doppelt gelegt, eine Spanne lang und eine Spanne breit. Das Obergewand zum Ephod
22Und er machte das Obergewand des Ephod, ganz aus blauem Purpur gewoben; (2Mo 28,31)23und die Öffnung des Obergewandes war in der Mitte, wie die Öffnung eines Panzerhemdes, und ein Saum um die Öffnung, damit es nicht zerriss. (2Mo 28,32)24Und sie brachten an seinem unteren Saum Granatäpfel an, aus blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin gezwirnt. Die Kleidung der Priester. Das goldene Stirnblatt
27Und sie machten auch die Leibröcke, aus weißem Leinen, in Weberarbeit, für Aaron und seine Söhne, (2Mo 28,39)28und den Kopfbund aus Leinen und die hohen Kopfbedeckungen aus Leinen und die Unterkleider aus gezwirntem Leinen; (2Mo 28,4; 2Mo 28,39; 2Mo 28,40)29und den Gürtel aus gezwirntem Leinen und aus [Garnen von] blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin, in Buntwirkerarbeit, so wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte. Die Übergabe der gefertigten Gegenstände
32So wurde das ganze Werk der Wohnung, der Stiftshütte, vollendet. Und die Kinder Israels machten alles genau so, wie der HERR es Mose geboten hatte; genau so machten sie es. The ephod
2They[1] made the ephod of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.3They hammered out thin sheets of gold and cut strands to be worked into the blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen – the work of skilled hands.4They made shoulder pieces for the ephod, which were attached to two of its corners, so that it could be fastened.5Its skilfully woven waistband was like it – of one piece with the ephod and made with gold, and with blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and with finely twisted linen, as the Lord commanded Moses.6They mounted the onyx stones in gold filigree settings and engraved them like a seal with the names of the sons of Israel.7Then they fastened them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, as the Lord commanded Moses.
The breastpiece
8They fashioned the breastpiece – the work of a skilled craftsman. They made it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.9It was square – a span[2] long and a span wide – and folded double.10Then they mounted four rows of precious stones on it. The first row was carnelian, chrysolite and beryl;11the second row was turquoise, lapis lazuli and emerald;12the third row was jacinth, agate and amethyst;13the fourth row was topaz, onyx and jasper.[3] They were mounted in gold filigree settings.14There were twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.15For the breastpiece they made braided chains of pure gold, like a rope.16They made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and fastened the rings to two of the corners of the breastpiece.17They fastened the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the breastpiece,18and the other ends of the chains to the two settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front.19They made two gold rings and attached them to the other two corners of the breastpiece on the inside edge next to the ephod.20Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the seam just above the waistband of the ephod.21They tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband so that the breastpiece would not swing out from the ephod – as the Lord commanded Moses.
Other priestly garments
22They made the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth – the work of a weaver –23with an opening in the centre of the robe like the opening of a collar,[4] and a band around this opening, so that it would not tear.24They made pomegranates of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen round the hem of the robe.25And they made bells of pure gold and attached them around the hem between the pomegranates.26The bells and pomegranates alternated round the hem of the robe to be worn for ministering, as the Lord commanded Moses.27For Aaron and his sons, they made tunics of fine linen – the work of a weaver –28and the turban of fine linen, the linen caps and the undergarments of finely twisted linen.29The sash was made of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn – the work of an embroiderer – as the Lord commanded Moses.30They made the plate, the sacred emblem, out of pure gold and engraved on it, like an inscription on a seal: Holy to the Lord.31Then they fastened a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban, as the Lord commanded Moses.
Moses inspects the tabernacle
32So all the work on the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, was completed. The Israelites did everything just as the Lord commanded Moses.33Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent and all its furnishings, its clasps, frames, crossbars, posts and bases;34the covering of ram skins dyed red and the covering of another durable leather[5] and the shielding curtain;35the ark of the covenant law with its poles and the atonement cover;36the table with all its articles and the bread of the Presence;37the pure gold lampstand with its row of lamps and all its accessories, and the olive oil for the light;38the gold altar, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense, and the curtain for the entrance to the tent;39the bronze altar with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils; the basin with its stand;40the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard; the ropes and tent pegs for the courtyard; all the furnishings for the tabernacle, the tent of meeting;41and the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when serving as priests.42The Israelites had done all the work just as the Lord had commanded Moses.43Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the Lord had commanded. So Moses blessed them.

as the LORD commanded Moses.27And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons,28And a mitre of fine linen, and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and linen breeches of fine twined linen,29And a girdle of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of needlework; as the LORD commanded Moses.30And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.31And they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it on high upon the mitre; as the LORD commanded Moses.32Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.33And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets,34And the covering of rams'skins dyed red, and the covering of badgers'skins, and the vail of the covering,35The ark of the testimony, and the staves thereof, and the mercy seat,36The table, and all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread,37The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light,38And the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door,39The brasen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot,40The hangings of the court, his pillars, and his sockets, and the hanging for the court gate, his cords, and his pins, and all the vessels of the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the congregation,41The cloths of service to do service in the holy place , and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons'garments, to minister in the priest' office.42According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.43And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.
