1 Oh SEÑOR, por siempre cantaré la grandeza de tu amor; por todas las generaciones proclamará mi boca tu fidelidad. 2 Tu gran amor dura para siempre; tu fidelidad dura tanto como los cielos. 3 El SEÑOR Dios dice: «He hecho un pacto con mi escogido; le he jurado a David mi siervo: 4 “Estableceré tu dinastía para siempre, y afirmaré tu trono por todas las generaciones”». 5 Todo el cielo alabará tus milagros, SEÑOR; millares de ángeles te alabarán por tu fidelidad. 6 Porque ¿quién en todo el cielo puede compararse con el SEÑOR? ¿Qué ángel por más poderoso que sea, puede siquiera parecerse al SEÑOR? 7 Los poderes angelicales más altos se quedan temerosos ante Dios; él es más asombroso que ninguno de los que rodea su trono. 8 Oh SEÑOR, Dios Todopoderoso, ¿dónde hay otro tan poderoso como tú? La fidelidad es una de tus cualidades. 9 Tú mandas a los océanos cuando sus olas se elevan en furiosa tempestad; tú las calmas. 10 Tú eres el que aplasta al gran monstruo marino; dispersas a tus enemigos con tu brazo poderoso. 11 Tuyos son los cielos y la tierra; todo en el mundo es tuyo. Tú lo creaste todo. 12 Tú creaste el norte y el sur. Los montes Tabor y Hermón cantan alegres a tu nombre. 13 Poderoso es tu brazo. Fuerte es tu mano. Tu mano derecha se eleva con gloriosa fortaleza. 14 Dos fuertes columnas sostienen tu trono: una es la justicia y la otra la rectitud. La verdad y tu amor están ante ti como tus servidores. 15 Dichosos aquellos que escuchan el alegre llamado a la adoración; porque ellos caminarán en la luz de tu presencia, SEÑOR. 16 Todo el día se alegran en tu maravillosa fama y en tu justicia son enaltecidos. 17 Tú eres su fuerza gloriosa. ¡Nuestro poder se funda en tu favor! 18 Sí, nuestra protección viene del SEÑOR, y él, el Santo de Israel, es nuestro rey. 19 Una vez en una visión hablaste a tu profeta y dijiste: «Le he dado mi ayuda a un joven valiente; lo he elegido de entre el pueblo para que sea rey. 20 ¡Es mi siervo David! Lo he ungido con mi aceite sagrado. 21 Le daré firmeza y lo haré fuerte. 22 No lo superará el enemigo ni lo vencerán los malos. 23 Aplastaré delante de él, a los que están en su contra; destruiré a quienes lo odian. 24 Mi fidelidad y mi gran amor lo acompañarán, y por mí su poder se levantará. 25 Gobernará desde el río Éufrates hasta el mar Mediterráneo. 26 Y él me dirá: Tú eres mi Padre, mi Dios y la roca de mi salvación. 27 »Yo lo trataré como a primogénito mío y lo haré el más grande rey de toda la tierra. 28 Lo amaré para siempre, y para siempre seré bondadoso con él; mi pacto con él no terminará jamás. 29 Siempre tendrá un heredero. Su trono será tan eterno como los días del cielo. 30 Si sus hijos se desvían de mis leyes y no viven de acuerdo a ellas; 31 si ellos no obedecen mis órdenes y no cumplen mis mandamientos; 32 entonces castigaré con vara su pecado y con azotes su desobediencia. 33 Pero nunca lo dejaré de amar ni mis promesas le faltarán. 34 No, no romperé mi pacto; no me arrepentiré de ninguna de las palabras que dije. 35 Porque a David le juré, y yo que soy santo, no puedo mentir, 36 que su descendencia continuará para siempre y que su trono es tan seguro como lo es el sol. 37 Será tan eterno como la luna, fiel testigo mío en el cielo». 38 Pero tú lo has rechazado. ¿Por qué enojarse tanto con aquel que elegiste por rey? 39 Has renunciado a tu pacto con él. Porque tú has echado su corona en el polvo. 40 Has quebrantado los muros que lo protegían y has convertido en ruinas todas las fortalezas que lo defendían. 41 Todos los que pasan le roban, mientras sus vecinos se burlan. 42 Has fortalecido a sus enemigos contra él y los has llenado de alegría. 43 Has hecho que su espada no sirva para nada y te has negado a darle ayuda en la batalla. 44 Has puesto fin a su esplendor y has derribado su trono. 45 Lo has hecho que se haga viejo antes de tiempo y lo has avergonzado frente a todos. 46 Oh SEÑOR, ¿hasta cuándo seguirá esto? ¿Te ocultarás de mí para siempre? ¿Hasta cuándo arderá como fuego tu ira? 47 ¡Acuérdate de lo corta que es mi vida! Es una vida vacía e inútil la de los mortales. 48 Ningún ser humano puede vivir eternamente. Todos morirán. ¿Quién puede librar su vida del poder del sepulcro? 49 SEÑOR, ¿dónde está el amor que me tenías?; ¿dónde la bondad que prometiste a David con fiel juramento? 50 SEÑOR, mira cómo todos desprecian a tus siervos; como llevo en mi corazón los insultos de muchos pueblos. 51 Tus enemigos se burlan de mí, oh SEÑOR, del que tú ungiste como rey de ellos. 52 ¡Bendito sea el SEÑOR por siempre! ¡Amén y amén!
