1 Hijo mío no olvides nunca mis enseñanzas. Guarda mis mandamientos en tu corazón, 2 porque ellos te darán una larga vida y te traerán felicidad. 3 No te apartes nunca del amor y la verdad; llévalos atados a tu cuello como si fueran un collar y escríbelos en lo profundo de tu corazón. 4 Entonces contarás con la buena opinión de la gente y el favor de Dios. 5 Confía en el SEÑOR con todo tu corazón, y no confíes en tu propia inteligencia. 6 Busca la voluntad del SEÑOR en todo lo que hagas, y él dirigirá tus caminos. 7 No creas que eres tan sabio como para no tenerle miedo al mal. Honra al SEÑOR y huye del mal, 8 así llenarás tu cuerpo con salud y vigor. 9 Honra al SEÑOR con tus riquezas y con los primeros frutos de tus cosechas. 10 Así tus graneros se llenarán hasta reventar, y tus bodegas rebosarán de vino nuevo. 11 Hijo mío, no desprecies la corrección del SEÑOR, ni te enojes cuando te reprenda; 12 pues el SEÑOR corrige al que ama, así como el padre corrige al hijo que es su alegría. 13 Feliz es el que halla sabiduría y adquiere inteligencia. 14 Porque es mejor hallar sabiduría que plata; la sabiduría deja más ganancias que el oro. 15 Es mucho más valiosa que las piedras preciosas. ¡No hay dinero alguno con el que la puedas pagar! 16 Por un lado, la sabiduría te ofrece larga vida y, por el otro, te otorga riquezas y honor. 17 Te llevará por caminos agradables y en sus senderos encontrarás paz. 18 La sabiduría es árbol de vida para quien se sujeta de ella; ¡felices los que no la sueltan! 19 Con sabiduría el SEÑOR fundó la tierra, con inteligencia estableció los cielos. 20 Por su conocimiento se separaron las aguas, las nubes derramaron la lluvia. 21 Hijo mío, sé prudente y no pierdas de vista la discreción, 22 porque ellas te llenarán de vida y te adornarán como un collar. 23 Podrás andar seguro en esta vida, sin problemas ni tropiezos. 24 Al acostarte, no tendrás ningún temor y dormirás tranquilamente. 25 No temerás al desastre que venga de repente, ni a la desgracia que caiga sobre los malvados, 26 porque el SEÑOR estará siempre contigo y evitará que caigas en la trampa. 27 No te niegues a hacer el bien a quien lo necesita, cuando bien sabes que está en tu mano hacerlo. 28 No le digas a alguien que venga mañana por la ayuda, si tienes con qué dársela hoy. 29 No trames nada malo contra el que vive confiado en ti. 30 No te metas en pleitos con nadie, sino te han hecho daño. 31 No envidies a la gente violenta, ni imites su conducta. 32 Porque el SEÑOR detesta a esos malvados, pero le da su amistad a los justos. 33 La maldición del SEÑOR cae sobre la casa de los malvados, pero su bendición está sobre el hogar de los justos. 34 El SEÑOR se burla de los burladores, pero ayuda a los humildes. 35 Los sabios se llenarán de honra, pero los necios se llenarán de vergüenza.

1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, (Dt 8:1; Dt 30:16; Dt 30:20; Pr 1:8) 2 for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. (Sal 91:16; Sal 119:165; Pr 1:33; Pr 3:16; Pr 4:10; Pr 9:11; Pr 10:27) 3 Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. (Sal 85:10; Pr 1:9; Pr 6:21; Pr 7:3; Pr 20:28; Is 59:14; Jer 17:1; 2 Co 3:3) 4 So you will find favor and good success[1] in the sight of God and man. (1 S 2:26; Sal 111:10; Lc 2:52; Ro 14:18) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. (Sal 37:3; Sal 37:5; Jer 9:23) 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (1 Cr 28:9; Sal 73:24) 7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. (Job 1:1; Job 28:28; Pr 12:15; Ro 12:16) 8 It will be healing to your flesh[2] and refreshment[3] to your bones. (Job 21:24; Pr 4:22) 9 Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; (Ex 23:19; Ex 34:26; Dt 26:2) 10 then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. (Dt 28:8) 11 My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline or be weary of his reproof, (Job 5:17; Heb 12:5) 12 for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights. (Dt 8:5; 1 Co 11:32) 13 Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, (Pr 8:34) 14 for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold. (Job 28:15; Sal 19:10; Pr 8:10; Pr 8:19; Pr 16:16) 15 She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. (Gl 6:10) 28 Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again, tomorrow I will give it”—when you have it with you. (Lv 19:13; Dt 24:15) 29 Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you. (Jue 18:7; Jue 18:27; Pr 6:14; Pr 12:20; Pr 14:22) 30 Do not contend with a man for no reason, when he has done you no harm. (Ro 12:18) 31 Do not envy a man of violence and do not choose any of his ways, (Sal 18:48; Sal 37:1; Sal 140:1) 32 for the devious person is an abomination to the Lord, but the upright are in his confidence. (Job 29:4; Pr 2:15) 33 The Lord’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous. (Lv 26:14; Job 8:6; Sal 37:22; Zac 5:4; Mal 2:2) 34 Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor.[6] (Sal 1:1; Sal 138:6; Stg 4:6; 1 P 5:5) 35 The wise will inherit honor, but fools get[7] disgrace.
