1Escuchen hijos la corrección de un padre. Pongan atención para que adquieran inteligencia.2Yo digo la verdad; no se aparten.3Yo también he sido hijo; cuando era el niño consentido de mi madre,4mi padre me enseñaba y me decía: «Guarda en tu corazón mis palabras, obedece mis mandamientos, y vivirás.5Adquiere sabiduría e inteligencia, no la olvides ni te apartes de ellas.6No abandones la sabiduría, ámala, y ella te protegerá.7Lo más importante que debes hacer es adquirir sabiduría, y también buen juicio.8Ama la sabiduría, y ella te engrandecerá; aférrate a ella y te honrará;9te adornará con diadema de gracia la cabeza; y te obsequiará una hermosa corona».10Hijo mío, escucha y obedece mis palabras, y tendrás una larga vida.11Yo te llevo por el camino de la sabiduría y te guío por sendas de rectitud.12Cuando camines por ellos, nada te estorbará ni tropezarás al correr.13Aférrate a mi instrucción, no la olvides; pues ella es tu vida.14No hagas lo que hacen los malvados, ni sigas el ejemplo de los malhechores.15Mantente lejos de esa gente; sí, aléjate de ellos y sigue adelante.16Los malvados no duermen hasta haber hecho lo malo; no pueden descansar hasta hacer que alguien tropiece y caiga.17¡Su comida es la maldad y su bebida la violencia!18La senda de los justos se parece a los primeros rayos de luz del amanecer, que brillan cada vez más hasta que es pleno día.19Pero la senda de los malvados está en completa oscuridad, los que la siguen ni siquiera saben con qué tropiezan.20Hijo mío, toma en cuenta mis consejos, escucha atentamente mis palabras.21No pierdas de vista mis palabras, grábalas en lo más profundo de tu corazón.22Porque ellas traen vida y salud a quienes las hallan.23Sobre todas las cosas cuida tu corazón, porque de él brota la vida.24Evita hablar de cosas perversas; aparta tus labios de decir cosas corruptas.25Mira lo que tienes delante; pon tus ojos en lo que tienes frente a ti.26Establece bien la conducta de tu vida, mantenla siempre, y estarás seguro.27¡Practica el bien en todo momento! ¡Apártate del mal!
