1A Song. A Psalm of Asaph. O God, do not keep silence; do not hold your peace or be still, O God! (مز 28:1; مز 50:1)2For behold, your enemies make an uproar; those who hate you have raised their heads. (قض 8:28; مز 2:1)3They lay crafty plans against your people; they consult together against your treasured ones. (نح 4:8; مز 27:5; مز 31:20)4They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!” (أس 3:6; مز 74:8; إر 48:2)5For they conspire with one accord; against you they make a covenant—6the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites, (تك 25:12; 1أخ 5:10; 2أخ 20:10; مز 137:7)7Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; (يش 13:5; 1صم 4:1; 1صم 15:2; مز 83:6; حز 27:3; عا 1:6; عا 1:9)8Asshur also has joined them; they are the strong arm of the children of Lot. (تث 2:9; تث 2:19; 2مل 15:19)9Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon, (عد 31:7; قض 4:7; قض 4:15; قض 4:24; قض 5:21; إش 9:4)10who were destroyed at En-dor, who became dung for the ground. (يش 17:11; 1صم 28:7; أي 20:7)11Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, (قض 7:25; قض 8:3; قض 8:5)12who said, “Let us take possession for ourselves of the pastures of God.” (2أخ 20:11)13O my God, make them like whirling dust,[1] like chaff before the wind. (أي 13:25; أي 21:18; مز 1:4; إش 17:13)14As fire consumes the forest, as the flame sets the mountains ablaze, (تث 32:22; إش 9:18; إش 10:16)15so may you pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your hurricane! (أي 9:17)16Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek your name, O Lord. (أي 10:15; مز 35:4; مز 35:26)17Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever; let them perish in disgrace, (مز 35:4)18that they may know that you alone, whose name is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth. (خر 6:3; مز 9:2; مز 18:13; مز 59:13; مز 97:9)
