1 Ein Lied für Wallfahrten (oder für die Stufen? vgl. Ps 120). Ich hebe meine Augen auf zu den Bergen: von wo wird Hilfe mir kommen? 2 Meine Hilfe kommt vom HERRN, der Himmel und Erde geschaffen. 3 Er wird deinen Fuß nicht wanken lassen; nicht schlummert dein Hüter. 4 Nein, nicht schlummert und nicht schläft der Hüter Israels. 5 Der HERR ist dein Hüter, der HERR dein Schatten über deiner rechten Hand, 6 daß dich bei Tage die Sonne nicht sticht, noch der Mond in der Nacht. 7 Der HERR behütet dich vor allem Übel, er behütet deine Seele[1]; 8 der HERR behütet deinen Ausgang und Eingang von nun an bis in Ewigkeit.

1 A Song of Ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? (Ps 48,1; Ps 87,1; Ps 120,1; Ps 123,1; Ps 133,3; Jer 3,23) 2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. (Ps 20,2; Ps 115,15; Ps 124,8) 3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. (1Sam 2,9; Ps 41,2; Ps 66,9; Ps 97,10; Ps 127,1; Spr 3,23; Spr 3,26; Jes 27,3) 4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
