1Ein Gebet Davids. HERR, neige deine Ohren und erhöre mich; denn ich bin elend und arm.2Bewahre meine Seele, denn ich bin dir treu. Hilf du, mein Gott, deinem Knechte, der sich verlässt auf dich.3Herr, sei mir gnädig; denn ich rufe täglich zu dir.4Erfreue die Seele deines Knechts; denn nach dir, Herr, verlangt mich.5Denn du, Herr, bist gut und gnädig, von großer Güte allen, die dich anrufen.6Vernimm, HERR, mein Gebet und merke auf die Stimme meines Flehens!7In der Not rufe ich dich an; du wollest mich erhören! (Ps 50,15)8Herr, es ist dir keiner gleich unter den Göttern, und niemand kann tun, was du tust. (2Mo 15,11; Ps 135,5)9Alle Völker, die du gemacht hast, werden kommen und vor dir anbeten, Herr, und deinen Namen ehren,10dass du so groß bist und Wunder tust und du allein Gott bist.11Weise mir, HERR, deinen Weg, dass ich wandle in deiner Wahrheit; erhalte mein Herz bei dem einen, dass ich deinen Namen fürchte. (Joh 14,6)12Ich danke dir, Herr, mein Gott, von ganzem Herzen und ehre deinen Namen ewiglich.13Denn deine Güte ist groß über mir, du hast mein Leben errettet aus der Tiefe des Todes.14Gott, es erheben sich die Stolzen gegen mich, / und eine Rotte von Gewalttätern trachtet mir nach dem Leben und haben dich nicht vor Augen.15Du aber, Herr, Gott, bist barmherzig und gnädig, geduldig und von großer Güte und Treue. (2Mo 34,6; Ps 103,8)16Wende dich zu mir und sei mir gnädig; stärke deinen Knecht mit deiner Kraft und hilf dem Sohn deiner Magd!17Tu ein Zeichen an mir, dass mir’s wohlgehe, dass es sehen, die mich hassen, und sich schämen, weil du mir beistehst, HERR, und mich tröstest.

Listen to my cry for mercy.7When I’m in trouble, I will call out to you. And you will answer me.8Lord, there’s no one like you among the gods. No one can do what you do.9Lord, all the nations you have made will come and worship you. They will bring glory to you.10You are great. You do wonderful things. You alone are God.11LORD, teach me how you want me to live. Do this so that I will depend on you, my faithful God. Give me a heart that doesn’t want anything more than to worship you.12Lord my God, I will praise you with all my heart. I will bring glory to you for ever.13Great is your love for me. You have kept me from going down into the place of the dead.14God, proud people are attacking me. A gang of mean people is trying to kill me. They don’t care about you.15But Lord, you are a God who is tender and kind. You are gracious. You are slow to get angry. You are faithful and full of love.16Come to my aid and have mercy on me. Show your strength by helping me. Save me because I serve you just as my mother did.17Prove your goodness to me. Then my enemies will see it and be put to shame. LORD, you have helped me and given me comfort.
