1So ahmt nun Gott nach als geliebte Kinder (Lk 6,35)2und wandelt in der Liebe, wie auch Christus uns geliebt hat und hat sich selbst für uns gegeben als Gabe und Opfer, Gott zu einem lieblichen Geruch. (Gal 2,20)3Von Unzucht aber und jeder Art Unreinheit oder Habsucht soll bei euch nicht einmal die Rede sein, wie es sich für die Heiligen gehört, (Kol 3,5)4auch nicht von schändlichem Tun und von närrischem oder losem Reden, was sich nicht ziemt, sondern vielmehr von Danksagung. (Eph 4,29)5Denn das sollt ihr wissen, dass kein Unzüchtiger oder Unreiner oder Habsüchtiger – das ist ein Götzendiener – ein Erbteil hat im Reich Christi und Gottes. (1Kor 6,9; Gal 5,21)6Lasst euch von niemandem verführen mit leeren Worten; denn um dieser Dinge willen kommt der Zorn Gottes über die Kinder des Ungehorsams. Das Leben im Licht
8Denn ihr wart früher Finsternis; nun aber seid ihr Licht in dem Herrn. Wandelt als Kinder des Lichts; (Mt 5,14; Joh 12,36; 1Thess 5,5; 1Petr 2,9)9die Frucht des Lichts ist lauter Güte und Gerechtigkeit und Wahrheit. (Gal 5,22; Phil 1,11)10Prüft, was dem Herrn wohlgefällig ist, (Röm 12,2; Phil 1,10)11und habt nicht Gemeinschaft mit den unfruchtbaren Werken der Finsternis; deckt sie vielmehr auf.12Denn was von ihnen heimlich getan wird, davon auch nur zu reden ist schändlich.13Das alles aber wird offenbar, wenn’s vom Licht aufgedeckt wird; (Joh 3,20)14denn alles, was offenbar wird, das ist Licht. Darum heißt es: Wach auf, der du schläfst, und steh auf von den Toten, so wird dich Christus erleuchten. (Jes 60,1; Jes 60,3; Joh 8,12; Röm 13,11)15So seht nun sorgfältig darauf, wie ihr euer Leben führt, nicht als Unweise, sondern als Weise, (Kol 4,5)16und kauft die Zeit aus, denn die Tage sind böse.17Darum werdet nicht unverständig, sondern versteht, was der Wille des Herrn ist.18Und sauft euch nicht voll Wein, woraus ein unordentliches Wesen folgt, sondern lasst euch vom Geist erfüllen. (Lk 21,34)19Ermuntert einander mit Psalmen und Lobgesängen und geistlichen Liedern, singt und spielt dem Herrn in eurem Herzen (Ps 33,2; Kol 3,16)20und sagt Dank Gott, dem Vater, allezeit für alles, im Namen unseres Herrn Jesus Christus. Die Ordnung des Hauses (Die christliche Haustafel)
21Ordnet euch einander unter in der Furcht Christi. (Phil 2,3; Kol 3,18; 1Petr 2,18)22Ihr Frauen, ordnet euch euren Männern unter wie dem Herrn. (Tit 2,5)23Denn der Mann ist das Haupt der Frau, wie auch Christus das Haupt der Gemeinde ist – er hat sie als seinen Leib gerettet. (1Kor 11,3; Eph 1,22)24Aber wie nun die Gemeinde sich Christus unterordnet, so sollen sich auch die Frauen ihren Männern unterordnen in allen Dingen.25Ihr Männer, liebt eure Frauen, wie auch Christus die Gemeinde geliebt hat und hat sich selbst für sie dahingegeben, (Eph 2,1)26um sie zu heiligen. Er hat sie gereinigt durch das Wasserbad im Wort, (Tit 3,5; Hebr 10,22)27damit er für sich die Gemeinde herrlich bereite, die keinen Flecken oder Runzel oder etwas dergleichen habe, sondern die heilig und untadelig sei. (2Kor 11,2; Kol 1,22)28So sollen auch die Männer ihre Frauen lieben wie ihren eigenen Leib. Wer seine Frau liebt, der liebt sich selbst. (3Mo 19,18)29Denn niemand hat je sein eigenes Fleisch gehasst; sondern er nährt und pflegt es wie auch Christus die Gemeinde.30Denn wir sind Glieder seines Leibes. (Röm 12,5)31»Darum wird ein Mann Vater und Mutter verlassen und an seiner Frau hängen, und die zwei werden ein Fleisch sein« (1Mo 2,24)32Dies Geheimnis ist groß; ich deute es aber auf Christus und die Gemeinde.33Darum auch ihr: ein jeder liebe seine Frau wie sich selbst; die Frau aber habe Ehrfurcht vor dem Mann.
1Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children2and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.3But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.4Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.5For of this you can be sure: no immoral, impure or greedy person – such a person is an idolater – has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.[1]6Let no-one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.7Therefore do not be partners with them.8For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light9(for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)10and find out what pleases the Lord.11Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.12It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.13But everything exposed by the light becomes visible – and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.14This is why it is said: ‘Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.’15Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise,16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.18Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit,19speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord,20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Instructions for Christian households
21Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.22Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Saviour.24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her26to make her holy, cleansing[2] her by the washing with water through the word,27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.29After all, no-one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church –30for we are members of his body.31‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ (1Mo 2,24)32This is a profound mystery – but I am talking about Christ and the church.33However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Дети света
8Когда-то вы были тьмой, но сейчас, в единении с Повелителем, вы стали светом. Живите как дети света.9А плод света – это всякая доброта, праведность и истина.10Старайтесь разузнать, что приятно Вечному Повелителю.11Не участвуйте в бесплодных делах тьмы, напротив, обличайте эти дела.12О том, чем такие люди занимаются втайне, даже стыдно говорить.13Но всё тайное при свете становится явным.14Свет делает всё видимым, поэтому и говорится: «Проснись, спящий! Воскресни из мёртвых! И Масих осветит тебя»[1].15Смотрите, живите не как глупые, но как мудрые.16Дорожите временем, потому что в эти дни много зла.17Не будьте легкомысленны, а лучше старайтесь понять, в чём заключена воля Вечного Повелителя.18Не напивайтесь вином, это ведёт к распутству[2]. 21Подчиняйтесь друг другу из глубокого почтения к Масиху.22Вы, жёны, подчиняйтесь вашим мужьям, как Повелителю Исе.23Ведь муж – глава своей жене, как и Масих – глава и Спаситель Своего тела, вселенской общины Его последователей.24И как эта община подчиняется Масиху, так и жёны должны во всём подчиняться своим мужьям.25А вы, мужья, любите ваших жён так, как и Масих полюбил общину Своих последователей. Он Самого Себя отдал за неё,26чтобы сделать её непорочной, очистив её водным омовением через слово[3], (Joh 15,3)27чтобы Ему поставить её перед Собой во всей её славе, как невесту, не имеющую пятна, или порока, или чего-то подобного, чтобы она была общиной святой и непорочной.28Точно так и мужья должны любить своих жён, любить, как своё собственное тело. Тот, кто любит свою жену, любит самого себя.29Ведь нет такого человека, кто бы ненавидел своё тело, но каждый питает своё тело и заботится о нём.
