Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.32For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.33Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:34And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.35And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.36Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.37But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.38But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.39And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.40When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?41They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.42Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?43Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.44And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.45And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.46But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.

Gesegnet sei er, der kommt im Namen des Herrn! Tempelreinigung
12Jesus ging in den Tempel und fing an, die Händler und die Leute, die bei ihnen kauften, hinauszujagen. Die Tische der Geldwechsler und die Stände der Taubenverkäufer stieß er um13und rief: „Die Schrift sagt: 'Mein Haus soll ein Ort des Gebets sein, aber ihr habt eine Räuberhöhle daraus gemacht.'“[5] (Isa 56:7; Jer 7:11)14Als er im Tempel war, kamen Blinde und Gelähmte zu ihm, und er machte sie gesund.15Als die Hohen Priester und Gesetzeslehrer die Wunder sahen, die er tat, und den Jubel der Kinder hörten, die im Tempel riefen: „Hosianna dem Sohn Davids!“, wurden sie wütend16und sagten zu Jesus: „Hörst du, was die da schreien?“ – „Gewiss“, erwiderte Jesus, „aber habt ihr denn nie gelesen: Aus dem Mund von Kindern und Säuglingen schaffst du dir Lob?“ (Ps 8:2)17Er ließ sie stehen und ging aus der Stadt nach Betanien,[6] um dort zu übernachten.
Vollmacht von Gott
18Als er am Morgen in die Stadt zurückkehrte, hatte er Hunger.19Da sah er einen einzelnen Feigenbaum am Weg stehen. Er ging auf ihn zu, fand aber nur Blätter daran.[7] Da sagte Jesus zu dem Baum: „Nie wieder sollst du Früchte tragen!“ Und augenblicklich verdorrte der Feigenbaum.20Als die Jünger das sahen, fragten sie erstaunt: „Wie konnte der Feigenbaum so plötzlich verdorren?“21Jesus antwortete: „Ich versichere euch: Wenn ihr Gottvertrauen habt und nicht zweifelt, könnt ihr nicht nur das tun, was ich mit dem Feigenbaum getan habe; ihr könnt dann sogar zu diesem Berg hier sagen: 'Heb dich hoch und stürz dich ins Meer!', und es wird geschehen.22Alles, was ihr im vertrauensvollen Gebet verlangt, werdet ihr bekommen.“23Als Jesus in den Tempel ging und anfing, dort zu lehren, traten die Hohen Priester und Ältesten des Volkes zu ihm und fragten: „Mit welchem Recht tust du das alles? Wer hat dir die Vollmacht dazu gegeben?“24„Ich will euch nur eine Frage stellen“, erwiderte Jesus, „wenn ihr sie mir beantwortet, werde ich euch sagen, wer mir die Vollmacht gegeben hat, so zu handeln.25Taufte Johannes im Auftrag Gottes oder im Auftrag von Menschen?“ Sie überlegten miteinander: „Wenn wir sagen: 'Im Auftrag Gottes', wird er fragen: 'Warum habt ihr ihm dann nicht geglaubt?'26Wenn wir aber sagen 'von Menschen', bekommen wir Ärger mit dem Volk, denn sie glauben alle, dass Johannes ein Prophet war.“27So sagten sie zu Jesus: „Wir wissen es nicht.“ – „Nun“, erwiderte Jesus, „dann sage ich euch auch nicht, von wem ich die Vollmacht habe, das alles zu tun.28Doch was haltet ihr von folgender Geschichte? Ein Mann hatte zwei Söhne und sagte zu dem älteren: 'Mein Sohn, geh heute zum Arbeiten in den Weinberg!'29Ich will aber nicht!', erwiderte der. Aber später bereute er seine Antwort und ging doch.30Dem zweiten Sohn gab der Vater denselben Auftrag. 'Ja, Vater!', antwortete dieser, ging aber nicht.31– Wer von den beiden hat nun dem Vater gehorcht?“ – „Der Erste“, antworteten sie. Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: „Ich versichere euch, dass die Zöllner und die Huren eher ins Reich Gottes kommen als ihr.32Denn Johannes hat euch den Weg der Gerechtigkeit gezeigt, aber ihr habt ihm nicht geglaubt. Die Zöllner und die Huren haben ihm geglaubt. Ihr habt es gesehen und wart nicht einmal dann bereit, eure Haltung zu ändern und ihm Glauben zu schenken.“
Der Eckstein
33„Hört noch ein anderes Gleichnis: Ein Gutsherr legte einen Weinberg an, zog eine Mauer darum, baute eine Keltergrube und errichtete einen Wachtturm. Dann verpachtete er ihn an Winzer und reiste ins Ausland.34Als die Zeit der Weinlese gekommen war, schickte er seine Diener zu den Winzern, um seinen Anteil an der Ernte abzuholen.35Doch die Winzer fielen über seine Diener her; den einen verprügelten sie, einen anderen schlugen sie tot, und wieder einen anderen steinigten sie.36Da schickte der Gutsherr noch einmal Diener, mehr als beim ersten Mal. Aber mit denen machten sie es genauso.37Zuletzt schickte er seinen Sohn zu ihnen, weil er dachte: 'Meinen Sohn werden sie sicher nicht antasten.'38Doch als die Winzer den Sohn sahen, sagten sie zueinander: 'Das ist der Erbe! Los, bringen wir ihn um und behalten das Land für uns!'39So fielen sie über ihn her, stießen ihn zum Weinberg hinaus und brachten ihn um.“40– „Was wird nun der Eigentümer des Weinbergs mit diesen Winzern machen, wenn er kommt?“, fragte Jesus.41„Er wird diesen bösen Leuten ein böses Ende bereiten und den Weinberg an andere verpachten, die ihm den Ertrag pünktlich abliefern“, antworteten sie.42Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: „Habt ihr denn nie in den Schriften[8] gelesen: 'Der Stein, den die Fachleute ‹als unbrauchbar› verworfen haben, ist zum Eckstein geworden; das hat der Herr getan; es ist ein Wunder für uns'? (Ps 118:22)43Deshalb sage ich euch: Das Reich Gottes wird euch weggenommen und einem Volk gegeben werden, das die rechten Früchte hervorbringt.44Jeder, der auf diesen Stein fällt, wird zerschmettert, und jeder, auf den er fällt, wird zermalmt.“45Als die Hohen Priester und die Pharisäer das hörten, war ihnen klar, dass er sie mit diesen Gleichnissen gemeint hatte.46Daraufhin hätten sie Jesus am liebsten festgenommen, aber sie fürchteten das Volk, denn das hielt Jesus für einen Propheten.

Jésus dans le Temple
12voir Jésus entra dans la cour du Temple. Il en chassa tous les marchands, ainsi que leurs clients. Il renversa les comptoirs des changeurs d’argent[3], ainsi que les chaises des marchands de pigeons, (Mr 11:15; Lu 19:45; Joh 2:13)13et il leur dit: Il est écrit: On appellera ma maison une maison de prière[4], mais vous, vous en faites une caverne de brigands[5]! (Isa 56:7; Jer 7:11)14Des aveugles et des paralysés s’approchèrent de lui dans la cour du Temple et il les guérit.15Quand les chefs des prêtres et les spécialistes de la Loi virent les miracles extraordinaires qu’il venait d’accomplir, quand ils entendirent les cris des enfants dans la cour du Temple: « Hosanna au Fils de David! », ils se mirent en colère16et lui dirent: Tu entends ce qu’ils crient? – Oui, leur répondit Jésus. Et vous, n’avez-vous donc jamais lu cette parole: De la bouche des petits enfants ╵et des nourrissons, tu as tiré la louange[6]. (Ps 8:3)17Puis il les laissa et quitta la ville pour se rendre à Béthanie, où il passa la nuit.
La malédiction du figuier
18Tôt le lendemain matin, en revenant vers la ville, il eut faim. (Mr 11:12; Mr 11:20)19Il aperçut un figuier sur le bord de la route et s’en approcha; mais il n’y trouva que des feuilles. Alors, il dit à l’arbre: Tu ne porteras plus jamais de fruit! A l’instant même, le figuier devint tout sec.20En voyant cela, les disciples furent très étonnés et s’écrièrent: Comment ce figuier est-il devenu sec en un instant?21– Vraiment, je vous l’assure, répondit Jésus, si vous avez la foi, si vous ne doutez pas, non seulement vous pourrez accomplir ce que j’ai fait à ce figuier, mais même si vous dites à cette colline: « Soulève-toi de là et jette-toi dans la mer », cela se fera.22Si vous priez avec foi, tout ce que vous demanderez, vous l’obtiendrez.
L’autorité de Jésus contestée
23Jésus se rendit au Temple et se mit à enseigner. Alors, les chefs des prêtres et les responsables du peuple vinrent le trouver et l’interpellèrent: Par quelle autorité agis-tu ainsi? Qui t’a donné l’autorité de faire cela? (Mr 11:27; Lu 20:1)24Jésus leur répondit: Moi aussi, j’ai une question à vous poser, une seule. Si vous me répondez, je vous dirai à mon tour de quel droit je fais cela.25De qui Jean tenait-il son mandat pour baptiser? De Dieu ou des hommes? Alors ils se mirent à raisonner intérieurement: Si nous disons: « De Dieu », il va nous demander: « Pourquoi alors n’avez-vous pas cru en lui? »26Mais si nous répondons: « Des hommes », nous avons bien lieu de craindre la réaction de la foule, car tout le monde tient Jean pour un prophète.27Ils répondirent donc à Jésus: Nous ne savons pas. Et lui de leur répliquer: Eh bien, moi non plus, je ne vous dirai pas par quelle autorité j’agis comme je le fais.
La parabole des deux fils
28Que pensez-vous de l’histoire que voici? ajouta Jésus. Un homme avait deux fils. Il alla trouver le premier et lui dit: « Mon fils, va aujourd’hui travailler dans notre vigne.29– Je n’en ai pas envie », lui répondit celui-ci. Mais, plus tard, il regretta d’avoir répondu ainsi et se rendit dans la vigne[7].30Le père alla trouver le second fils et lui fit la même demande. Celui-ci lui répondit: « Oui, mon Seigneur, j’y vais! » Mais il n’y alla pas.31Lequel des deux a fait la volonté de son père? – C’est le premier, répondirent-ils. Et Jésus ajouta: Vraiment, je vous l’assure: les collecteurs d’impôts et les prostituées vous précéderont dans le royaume de Dieu.32En effet, Jean est venu, il vous a montré ce qu’est une vie juste, et vous n’avez pas cru en lui – tandis que les collecteurs d’impôts et les prostituées ont cru en lui. Et, bien que vous ayez eu leur exemple sous vos yeux, vous n’avez pas éprouvé les regrets qui auraient pu vous amener enfin à croire en lui.
La culpabilité des chefs religieux juifs
33Ecoutez encore une parabole: Un homme avait une propriété. Il y planta une vigne, l’entoura d’une haie, y creusa un pressoir et y bâtit une tour de guet[8]. Après cela, il la loua à des vignerons et partit en voyage. (Isa 5:1; Mr 12:1; Lu 20:9)34A l’approche des vendanges, il envoya ses serviteurs auprès de ces vignerons pour recevoir le produit qui lui revenait.35Mais les vignerons se précipitèrent sur ces serviteurs: l’un d’eux fut roué de coups, un autre fut tué, un troisième assommé à coups de pierres.36Le propriétaire envoya alors d’autres serviteurs, plus nombreux que les premiers. Mais ils furent reçus de la même manière par les vignerons.37Finalement, il leur envoya son propre fils en se disant: « Pour mon fils au moins, ils auront du respect. »38Mais dès que les vignerons aperçurent le fils, ils se dirent entre eux: « Voilà l’héritier! Venez! Tuons-le! Et récupérons son héritage! »39Ils se jetèrent donc sur lui, le traînèrent hors du vignoble et le tuèrent.40Quand le propriétaire de la vigne viendra, comment agira-t-il envers ces vignerons?41Ils lui répondirent: Il fera exécuter sans pitié ces misérables, puis il confiera le soin de sa vigne à d’autres vignerons qui lui donneront sa part de récolte en temps voulu.42Et Jésus ajouta: N’avez-vous jamais lu dans les Ecritures: La pierre que les constructeurs ╵ont rejetée est devenue la pierre principale, ╵la pierre d’angle. C’est du Seigneur ╵que cela est venu et c’est un prodige à nos yeux[9]. (Ps 118:22)43Voilà pourquoi je vous déclare que le royaume de Dieu vous sera enlevé et sera donné à un peuple qui en produira les fruits. [44Mais: Celui qui tombera sur cette pierre-là, se brisera la nuque, et si elle tombe sur quelqu’un, elle l’écrasera[10].] (Isa 8:14; Lu 20:18)45Après avoir entendu ces paraboles, les chefs des prêtres et les pharisiens comprirent que c’était eux que Jésus visait.46Ils cherchaient un moyen de l’arrêter, mais ils avaient peur des réactions de la foule, car tous considéraient Jésus comme un prophète.
