1For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.2And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.3And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,4And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.5Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.6And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?7They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.8So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.9And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.10But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.11And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,12Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.13But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?14Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.15Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?16So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.17And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,18Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,19And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.20Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.21And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.22But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.23And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.24And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.25But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.26But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;27And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:28Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.29And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.30And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.31And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.32And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?33They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.34So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.
1„Denn mit dem Reich, in dem der Himmel regiert, ist es wie mit einem Gutsherrn, der sich früh am Morgen aufmachte, um Arbeiter für seinen Weinberg einzustellen.2Er einigte sich mit ihnen auf den üblichen Tagelohn von einem Denar und schickte sie in seinen Weinberg.3Als er mitten am Vormittag[1] noch einmal auf den Marktplatz ging, sah er dort noch andere arbeitslos herumstehen.4Ihr könnt in meinem Weinberg arbeiten', sagte er zu ihnen, 'ich werde euch dafür geben, was recht ist.'5Da gingen sie an die Arbeit. Genauso machte er es um die Mittagszeit und am Nachmittag.[2]6Als er am späten Nachmittag[3] das letzte Mal hinausging, fand er immer noch einige herumstehen. 'Warum tut ihr den ganzen Tag nichts?', fragte er sie.7Weil uns niemand eingestellt hat', gaben sie zur Antwort. 'Ihr könnt auch noch in meinem Weinberg arbeiten!', sagte der Gutsherr.8Am Abend sagte er dann zu seinem Verwalter: 'Ruf die Arbeiter zusammen und zahle ihnen den Lohn aus. Fang bei denen an, die zuletzt gekommen sind, und hör bei den Ersten auf.'9Die Männer, die erst am späten Nachmittag angefangen hatten, bekamen je einen Denar.10Als nun die Ersten an der Reihe waren, dachten sie, sie würden mehr erhalten. Aber auch sie bekamen je einen Denar.11Da murrten sie und beschwerten sich beim Gutsherrn:12Die da sind zuletzt gekommen und haben nur eine Stunde gearbeitet, und du behandelst sie genauso wie uns. Dabei haben wir den ganzen Tag über geschuftet und die Hitze ertragen.'13Da sagte der Gutsherr zu einem von ihnen: 'Mein Freund, ich tue dir kein Unrecht. Hatten wir uns nicht auf einen Denar geeinigt?14Nimm dein Geld und geh! Ich will nun einmal dem Letzten hier genauso viel geben wie dir.15Darf ich denn mit meinem Geld nicht machen, was ich will? Oder bist du neidisch, weil ich so gütig bin?'16– So wird es kommen, dass die Letzten die Ersten sind und die Ersten die Letzten.“
Der bittere Kelch
17Auf dem Weg nach Jerusalem hinauf nahm Jesus die zwölf Jünger beiseite und sagte zu ihnen:18„Passt auf, wenn wir jetzt nach Jerusalem kommen, wird der Menschensohn an die Hohen Priester und die Gesetzeslehrer ausgeliefert. Die werden ihn zum Tod verurteilen19und den Fremden übergeben, die Gott nicht kennen. Diese werden ihren Spott mit ihm treiben, ihn auspeitschen und töten. Aber am dritten Tag wird er auferstehen.“20Da trat die Mutter der Zebedäussöhne in Begleitung ihrer Söhne an Jesus heran und warf sich vor ihm nieder. Sie wollte etwas von ihm erbitten.21„Was möchtest du?“, fragte er. Sie antwortete: „Erlaube doch, dass meine beiden Söhne in deinem Reich einmal rechts und links neben dir sitzen!“22Aber Jesus erwiderte: „Ihr wisst nicht, was ihr da verlangt! Könnt ihr den Kelch austrinken, den ich trinken muss?“ – „Ja, das können wir“, erklärten sie.23Jesus erwiderte: „Aus meinem Kelch ‹der Leiden› werdet ihr zwar trinken, aber ich kann trotzdem nicht bestimmen, wer auf den Plätzen rechts und links von mir sitzen wird. Das hat mein Vater entschieden.“24Die anderen zehn hatten das Gespräch mit angehört und ärgerten sich über die beiden Brüder.25Da rief Jesus sie zu sich und sagte: „Ihr wisst, wie die Herrscher sich als Herren aufspielen und die Großen ihre Macht missbrauchen.26Bei euch aber soll es nicht so sein. Wer bei euch groß sein will, soll euer Diener sein,27und wer bei euch der Erste sein will, soll euer Sklave sein.28Auch der Menschensohn ist nicht gekommen, um sich bedienen zu lassen, sondern um zu dienen und sein Leben als Lösegeld für viele zu geben.“
Erbarmen
29Als Jesus mit seinen Jüngern und einer großen Menschenmenge Jericho wieder verließ,30saßen da zwei Blinde am Weg. Sie hörten, dass Jesus vorbeikam, und riefen laut: „Herr, Sohn Davids, hab Erbarmen mit uns!“31Die Leute fuhren sie an, still zu sein. Doch sie schrien nur umso lauter: „Herr, Sohn Davids, hab Erbarmen mit uns!“32Jesus blieb stehen, rief sie zu sich und fragte: „Was soll ich für euch tun?“33„Herr“, sagten die Blinden, „wir möchten sehen können!“34Da hatte Jesus Mitleid mit ihnen und berührte ihre Augen. Im gleichen Augenblick konnten sie sehen, und von da an folgten sie Jesus.

Il sort encore vers midi, puis vers trois heures de l’après-midi et, chaque fois, il agit de la même manière.6Enfin, étant ressorti à cinq heures du soir, il en trouve encore d’autres sur la place. Il leur dit: « Pourquoi restez-vous ainsi toute la journée à ne rien faire?7– C’est que personne ne nous a embauchés. – Eh bien, vous aussi, allez travailler dans ma vigne! »8Le soir, le propriétaire du vignoble dit à son administrateur: « Fais venir les ouvriers et donne-leur la paye. Tu commenceras par ceux qui ont été engagés les derniers, pour finir par les premiers. »9Les ouvriers embauchés à cinq heures du soir se présentent d’abord et touchent chacun une pièce d’argent.10Puis vient le tour des premiers engagés: ils s’attendent à recevoir davantage, mais eux aussi touchent chacun une pièce d’argent.11Lorsqu’ils la reçoivent, ils manifestent leur mécontentement à l’égard du propriétaire:12« Ceux-là sont arrivés les derniers, disent-ils, ils n’ont travaillé qu’une heure, et tu leur as donné autant qu’à nous qui avons travaillé dur toute la journée sous la forte chaleur. »13Mais le maître répond à l’un d’eux: « Mon ami, dit-il, je ne te fais pas le moindre tort. Une pièce d’argent: n’est-ce pas le salaire sur lequel nous étions d’accord?14Prends donc ce qui te revient et rentre chez toi. Si cela me fait plaisir de donner au dernier arrivé autant qu’à toi, cela me regarde.15Ne puis-je pas disposer de mon argent comme je le veux? Ou bien, m’en veux-tu pour ma bonté? »16Voilà comment les derniers seront les premiers et comment les premiers seront les derniers.
Ce qui attend Jésus à Jérusalem
17Alors qu’il montait à Jérusalem, Jésus prit les Douze à part et leur dit, en cours de route: (Mr 10:32; Lu 18:31)18Voici, nous montons à Jérusalem. Le Fils de l’homme y sera livré aux chefs des prêtres et aux spécialistes de la Loi. Ils le condamneront à mort,19et le remettront entre les mains des païens pour qu’ils se moquent de lui, le battent à coups de fouet et le clouent sur une croix. Puis, le troisième jour, il ressuscitera.
Grandeur et service
20Alors, la femme de Zébédée, s’approcha de Jésus avec ses fils. Elle se prosterna devant lui pour lui demander une faveur. (Mr 10:35; Lu 22:25)21– Que désires-tu? lui demanda-t-il. Elle lui répondit: Voici mes deux fils. Promets-moi de faire siéger l’un à ta droite, l’autre à ta gauche, dans ton royaume.22Jésus leur répondit: Vous ne vous rendez pas compte de ce que vous demandez. Pouvez-vous boire la coupe que je vais boire? – Oui, lui répondirent-ils, nous le pouvons.23Alors Jésus reprit: Vous boirez, en effet, ma coupe, mais quant à siéger à ma droite ou à ma gauche, il ne m’appartient pas de vous l’accorder. Ces places reviendront à ceux pour qui mon Père les a préparées.24En entendant cela, les dix autres s’indignèrent contre les deux frères.25Alors Jésus les appela tous auprès de lui et dit: Vous savez ce qui se passe dans les nations: les chefs politiques dominent sur leurs peuples et les grands personnages font peser sur eux leur autorité.26Qu’il n’en soit pas ainsi parmi vous. Au contraire: si quelqu’un veut être grand parmi vous, qu’il soit votre serviteur,27si quelqu’un veut être le premier parmi vous, qu’il soit votre esclave.28Car, de même, le Fils de l’homme n’est pas venu pour se faire servir, mais pour servir et donner sa vie en rançon[1] pour beaucoup.
La guérison de deux aveugles
29Lorsqu’ils sortirent de Jéricho, une grande foule suivit Jésus. (Mr 10:46; Lu 18:35)30Deux aveugles étaient assis au bord du chemin. Quand ils entendirent que Jésus passait par là, ils se mirent à crier: Seigneur[2], Fils de David, aie pitié de nous!31La foule les rabroua pour les faire taire, mais ils se mirent à crier de plus belle: Seigneur, Fils de David, aie pitié de nous!32Jésus s’arrêta, les appela et leur demanda: Que voulez-vous que je fasse pour vous?33– Seigneur, répondirent-ils, que nos yeux s’ouvrent!34Pris de compassion pour eux, Jésus leur toucha les yeux. Aussitôt, ils recouvrèrent la vue et le suivirent.
