1 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them, 

2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 

3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide. 

4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand. 

5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, 

6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. 

7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? 

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, 

9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; 

10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 

11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 

13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. 

14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. 

15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, 

16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it. 

17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. 

18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 

19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. 

20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. 

21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done. 

22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed. 

23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. 

24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: 

25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? 

26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. 

27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, 

28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. 

29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, 

30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. 

31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. 

32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. 

33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. 

34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 

35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. 

36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, 

37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

Petrus und Johannes vor dem Hohen Rat

1 Während sie aber zu dem Volk redeten, kamen die Priester und der Hauptmann des Tempels und die Sadduzäer auf sie zu, (Ac 5:17) 

2 empört ⟨darüber⟩, dass sie das Volk lehrten und in Jesus die Auferstehung aus den Toten verkündigten. (Ac 23:8) 

3 Und sie legten Hand an sie und setzten sie in Gewahrsam bis an den Morgen, denn es war schon Abend. (Lu 21:12; Ac 5:18; Ac 12:1; Ac 16:23) 

4 Viele aber von denen, die das Wort gehört hatten, wurden gläubig; und die Zahl der Männer kam auf etwa fünftausend. (Ac 2:41) 

5 Es geschah aber am folgenden Tag, dass ihre Obersten und Ältesten und Schriftgelehrten sich in Jerusalem versammelten, 

6 und Hannas, der Hohe Priester, und Kaiphas und Johannes und Alexander und so viele vom hohepriesterlichen Geschlecht waren. (Lu 3:2) 

7 Und nachdem sie sie in die Mitte gestellt hatten, fragten sie: In welcher Kraft oder in welchem Namen habt ihr dies getan? (Mt 21:23) 

8 Da sprach Petrus, erfüllt mit Heiligem Geist, zu ihnen: Oberste des Volkes und Älteste! 

9 Wenn wir heute über die Wohltat an einem kranken Menschen verhört werden, wodurch dieser geheilt worden ist, 

10 so sei euch allen und dem ganzen Volk Israel kund: Im Namen Jesu Christi, des Nazoräers, den ihr gekreuzigt habt, den Gott auferweckt hat aus den Toten – in diesem ⟨Namen⟩ steht dieser gesund vor euch. (Ac 2:24; Ac 3:6) 

11 Das ist der Stein, der von euch, den Bauleuten, verachtet, der zum Eckstein geworden ist. (Ps 118:22; Mt 21:42) 

12 Und es ist in keinem anderen das Heil; denn auch kein anderer Name unter dem Himmel ist den Menschen gegeben, in dem wir gerettet werden müssen. (Mt 1:21; Ac 5:31; Ac 13:23) 

13 Als sie aber die Freimütigkeit des Petrus und Johannes sahen und bemerkten, dass es ungelehrte und ungebildete Leute waren, wunderten sie sich; und sie erkannten sie, dass sie mit Jesus gewesen waren. (1Co 1:27) 

14 Und da sie den Menschen, der geheilt worden war, bei ihnen stehen sahen, konnten sie nichts dagegen sagen. (Ac 3:8) 

15 Nachdem sie ihnen aber befohlen hatten, aus dem Hohen Rat zu gehen, überlegten sie miteinander 

16 und sagten: Was sollen wir diesen Menschen tun? Denn dass wirklich ein deutliches Zeichen durch sie geschehen ist, ist allen offenbar, die zu Jerusalem wohnen, und wir können es nicht leugnen. (Lu 6:11) 

17 Aber damit es nicht weiter unter dem Volk ausgebreitet wird, wollen wir sie bedrohen, dass sie nicht mehr in diesem Namen zu irgendeinem Menschen reden. 

18 Und als sie sie gerufen hatten, geboten sie ihnen, sich überhaupt nicht in dem Namen Jesu zu äußern noch zu lehren. (Ac 5:28) 

19 Petrus aber und Johannes antworteten und sprachen zu ihnen: Ob es vor Gott recht ist, auf euch mehr zu hören als auf Gott, urteilt ihr! (Da 3:18; Ac 5:29) 

20 Denn es ist uns unmöglich, von dem, was wir gesehen und gehört haben, nicht zu reden. (Jer 20:9; 1Co 9:16) 

21 Sie aber bedrohten sie noch mehr und entließen sie, da sie nicht fanden, auf welche Weise sie sie bestrafen sollten, um des Volkes willen; denn alle verherrlichten Gott um dessentwillen, was geschehen war. (Mt 21:46; Lu 5:26; Ac 5:26) 

22 Denn der Mensch war mehr als vierzig Jahre alt, an dem dieses Zeichen der Heilung geschehen war. 

Gebet der Gemeinde

23 Als sie aber entlassen waren, kamen sie zu den Ihren und verkündeten alles, was die Hohen Priester und die Ältesten zu ihnen gesagt hatten. 

24 Sie aber, als sie es hörten, erhoben einmütig ⟨ihre⟩ Stimme zu Gott und sprachen: Herrscher, du, der du den Himmel und die Erde und das Meer gemacht hast und alles, was in ihnen ist; (Ex 20:11; Ne 9:6; Ps 95:5; Ps 146:6; Ac 14:15; Ac 17:24; Re 10:6) 

25 der du durch den Heiligen Geist durch den Mund unseres Vaters, deines Knechtes David, gesagt hast: »Warum tobten die Nationen und sannen Eitles die Völker? 

26 Die Könige der Erde standen auf und die Fürsten versammelten sich gegen den Herrn und seinen Gesalbten.« (Ps 2:1; Lu 22:66) 

27 Denn in dieser Stadt versammelten sich in Wahrheit gegen deinen heiligen Knecht Jesus, den du gesalbt hast, sowohl Herodes als ⟨auch⟩ Pontius Pilatus mit den Nationen und den Völkern Israels, (Mt 3:16; Lu 4:18; Lu 23:7; Ac 3:13; Ac 10:38) 

28 alles zu tun, was deine Hand und dein Ratschluss vorherbestimmt hat, dass es geschehen sollte. (Ac 2:23) 

29 Und nun, Herr, sieh an ihre Drohungen und gib deinen Knechten, dein Wort mit aller Freimütigkeit zu reden; (Eph 6:19) 

30 indem du deine Hand ausstreckst zur Heilung, dass Zeichen und Wunder geschehen durch den Namen deines heiligen Knechtes Jesus. (Ac 2:43; Ac 3:13; Ac 5:16; Heb 2:4) 

31 Und als sie gebetet hatten, bewegte sich die Stätte, wo sie versammelt waren; und sie wurden alle mit dem Heiligen Geist erfüllt und redeten das Wort Gottes mit Freimütigkeit. (Ac 2:4) 

Gemeindeleben

32 Die Menge derer aber, die gläubig wurden, war ein Herz und eine Seele; und auch nicht einer sagte, dass etwas von seiner Habe sein eigen sei, sondern es war ihnen alles gemeinsam. (Joh 17:21; Ac 2:44) 

33 Und mit großer Kraft legten die Apostel das Zeugnis von der Auferstehung des Herrn Jesus ab; und große Gnade war auf ihnen allen. (Joh 1:16; Ac 1:8; Ac 6:8) 

34 Denn es war auch keiner bedürftig unter ihnen, denn so viele Besitzer von Äckern oder Häusern waren, verkauften sie und brachten den Preis des Verkauften (Ac 2:45) 

35 und legten ihn nieder zu den Füßen der Apostel; es wurde aber jedem zugeteilt, so wie einer Bedürfnis hatte. (Ac 2:45) 

36 Josef aber, der von den Aposteln Barnabas genannt wurde – was übersetzt heißt: Sohn des Trostes –, ein Levit, ein Zyprer von Geburt, (Ac 9:27; Ac 11:22; Ac 13:1; 1Co 9:6; Ga 2:9) 

37 der einen Acker besaß, verkaufte ihn, brachte das Geld und legte es zu den Füßen der Apostel nieder. (Ac 5:2)
