1A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name' sake.4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
1-2Herren är min herde, och därför har jag allt vad jag behöver. Han låter mig vila på gröna ängar och leder mig till källor med friskt vatten.3Han ger mig ständigt ny styrka till kropp och själ. Han leder mig på rätta vägar och hjälper mig leva efter sin vilja.4Även om jag vandrar genom dödens mörka dal, behöver jag inte vara rädd, för du finns bredvid mig, och din käpp och stav hjälper mig på vägen.5Du ger mig god mat mitt framför ögonen på mina fiender, ja, jag får vara din hedersgäst. Du fyller min bägare till brädden, och dina välsignelser flödar över!6Din godhet, vänskap och kärlek följer mig i hela mitt liv, och jag ska alltid få bo i ditt hus.
