Das Gleichnis vom Hochzeitsfest

1 Jesus erzählte ihnen noch ein anderes Gleichnis: (Lk 14,16) 2 »Mit Gottes himmlischem Reich ist es wie mit einem König, der für seinen Sohn ein großes Hochzeitsfest vorbereitete. 3 Viele wurden zu der Feier eingeladen. Als alles fertig war, schickte der König seine Diener, um die Gäste zum Fest zu bitten. Aber keiner wollte kommen. 4 Da schickte er andere Diener und ließ den Eingeladenen nochmals ausrichten: ›Es ist alles fertig, die Ochsen und Mastkälber sind geschlachtet. Das Fest kann beginnen. Kommt doch zur Hochzeit!‹ 5 Aber den geladenen Gästen war das gleichgültig. Sie gingen weiter ihrer Arbeit nach. Der eine hatte auf dem Feld zu tun, der andere im Geschäft. 6 Einige wurden sogar handgreiflich, misshandelten und töteten die Diener des Königs. 7 Da wurde der König sehr zornig. Er sandte seine Truppen aus, ließ die Mörder umbringen und ihre Stadt in Brand stecken. 8 Dann sagte er zu seinen Dienern: ›Die Hochzeitsfeier ist vorbereitet, aber die geladenen Gäste waren es nicht wert, an diesem Fest teilzunehmen. 9 Geht jetzt auf die Landstraßen und ladet alle ein, die euch über den Weg laufen!‹ 10 Das taten die Boten und brachten alle mit, die sie fanden: böse und gute Menschen. So füllte sich der Festsaal mit Gästen. 11 Als der König kam, um die Gäste zu sehen, bemerkte er einen Mann, der nicht festlich angezogen war. 12 ›Mein Freund, wie bist du hier ohne Festgewand hereingekommen?‹, fragte er ihn. Darauf konnte der Mann nichts antworten. 13 Da befahl der König seinen Knechten: ›Fesselt ihm Hände und Füße und werft ihn hinaus in die tiefste Finsternis, wo es nur noch Heulen und ohnmächtiges Jammern^[1] gibt!‹ 14 Denn viele sind eingeladen, aber nur wenige sind auserwählt.«

Die Frage nach der Steuer

15 Da kamen die Pharisäer zusammen und berieten, wie sie Jesus mit seinen eigenen Worten in eine Falle locken könnten. (Mk 12,13; Lk 20,20) 16 Sie schickten ein paar von ihren Jüngern und einige Anhänger von König Herodes zu ihm. Die fragten ihn scheinheilig: »Lehrer, wir wissen, dass es dir allein um die Wahrheit geht. Du sagst uns klipp und klar, wie wir nach Gottes Willen leben sollen. Du redest den Leuten nicht nach dem Mund – ganz gleich, wie viel Ansehen sie besitzen. 17 Deshalb sage uns: Ist es eigentlich Gottes Wille, dass wir dem römischen Kaiser Steuern zahlen, oder nicht?« 18 Jesus durchschaute ihre Hinterhältigkeit. »Ihr Heuchler!«, rief er. »Warum wollt ihr mir eine Falle stellen? 19 Zeigt mir eines der Geldstücke, mit denen ihr die Steuern bezahlt!« Sie gaben ihm eine römische Münze. 20 Er fragte sie: »Wessen Bild und Name sind hier eingeprägt?« 21 Sie antworteten: »Die des Kaisers.« Da sagte Jesus zu ihnen: »Nun, dann gebt dem Kaiser, was ihm zusteht, und gebt Gott, was ihm gehört!« 22 Diese Antwort überraschte sie. Sie ließen Jesus in Ruhe und gingen weg.

Werden die Toten auferstehen?

23 Am selben Tag kamen einige Sadduzäer zu Jesus. Diese Leute behaupten, es gebe keine Auferstehung der Toten. Sie fragten ihn: (Mk 12,18; Lk 20,27) 24 »Lehrer, Mose hat bestimmt: Wenn ein verheirateter Mann stirbt und keine Kinder hat, dann muss sein Bruder die Witwe heiraten und dafür sorgen, dass der Verstorbene doch noch einen Nachkommen erhält.^[2] (5Mo 25,5) 25 Nun lebten da unter uns sieben Brüder. Der erste heiratete und starb. Weil er keine Nachkommen hatte, heiratete sein Bruder die Witwe. 26 Auch der zweite Bruder starb kinderlos, und der nächste Bruder nahm sie zur Frau. So ging es weiter, bis die Frau mit allen sieben verheiratet gewesen war. 27 Schließlich starb auch sie. 28 Wessen Frau wird sie nun nach der Auferstehung sein? Schließlich waren ja alle sieben Brüder mit ihr verheiratet.« 29 Jesus antwortete: »Ihr irrt euch, denn ihr kennt weder die Heilige Schrift noch die Macht Gottes. 30 Wenn die Toten auferstehen, werden sie nicht mehr wie hier auf der Erde heiraten. Es wird ganz anders sein: Sie sind dann wie die Engel Gottes im Himmel. 31 Was nun die Auferstehung der Toten überhaupt betrifft: Habt ihr nicht gelesen, was Gott euch in der Heiligen Schrift sagt: 32 ›Ich bin der Gott Abrahams, Isaaks und Jakobs‹? Er ist doch nicht ein Gott der Toten, sondern der Lebenden!« (2Mo 3,6) 33 Die vielen Menschen, die Jesus zugehört hatten, waren tief beeindruckt von dem, was er lehrte.

Was ist das wichtigste Gebot?

34-35 Als die Pharisäer hörten, wie Jesus die Sadduzäer zum Schweigen gebracht hatte, dachten sie sich eine neue Frage aus, um ihm eine Falle zu stellen. Ein Gesetzeslehrer fragte ihn: (Mk 12,28; Lk 10,25) 36 »Lehrer, welches ist das wichtigste Gebot im Gesetz Gottes?« 37 Jesus antwortete ihm: »›Du sollst den Herrn, deinen Gott, lieben von ganzem Herzen, mit ganzer Hingabe und mit deinem ganzen Verstand.‹ (5Mo 6,5) 38 Das ist das erste und wichtigste Gebot. 39 Ebenso wichtig ist aber ein zweites: ›Liebe deinen Mitmenschen wie dich selbst.‹ (3Mo 19,18) 40 Alle anderen Gebote und alle Forderungen der Propheten sind in diesen beiden Geboten enthalten.«

Wer ist der Christus?

41 Bei dieser Gelegenheit fragte Jesus die Pharisäer, die sich bei ihm versammelt hatten: (Mk 12,35; Lk 20,41) 42 »Was denkt ihr über den Christus, der als Retter zu euch kommen soll? Wessen Nachkomme ist er?« Sie antworteten: »Er ist ein Nachkomme von König David.« 43 Da entgegnete Jesus: »Warum hat David ihn dann, geleitet vom Geist Gottes, ›Herr‹ genannt? Denn David sagte: 44 ›Gott, der Herr, sprach zu meinem Herrn: Setze dich auf den Ehrenplatz an meiner rechten Seite, bis ich dir alle deine Feinde unterworfen habe und du deinen Fuß auf ihren Nacken setzt!‹ (Ps 110,1) 45 Wenn David den Christus also ›Herr‹ nennt, wie kann er dann Davids Nachkomme sein?« 46 Darauf wussten sie keine Antwort. Und von da an wagte niemand mehr, ihm weitere Fragen zu stellen.

The Parable of the Wedding Feast

1 And again Jesus spoke to them in parables, saying, (Mt 13,34) 2 “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son, (Lk 14,16; Offb 19,7) 3 and sent his servants^[1] to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come. (Est 6,14; Spr 9,3; Spr 9,5) 4 Again he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Paying Taxes to Caesar

15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how to entangle him in his words. The Great Commandment

34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. (Mt 22,23; Mk 12,28) 35 And one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him. (Mt 22,18; Lk 7,30; Lk 10,25) 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Whose Son Is the Christ?

41 Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, (Mt 22,34; Mk 12,35; Lk 20,41) 42 saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The son of David.” (Mt 1,1; Mt 1,17) 43 He said to them, “How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying, (2Sam 23,2; Offb 1,10; Offb 4,2) 44 “‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet”’? La fiesta de bodas

1 Jesús tomó nuevamente la palabra, y les habló en parábolas, diciendo: 2 El reino de los cielos fue hecho semejante a cierto rey que hizo la fiesta de bodas para su hijo. 3 Y envió a sus siervos para llamar a los que habían sido invitados a la fiesta de bodas, y no querían venir. 4 Volvió a enviar a otros siervos, diciendo: Decid a los que han sido invitados: He aquí, he preparado mi banquete, se han sacrificado mis novillos y las reses cebadas, y todo está dispuesto: venid a la fiesta de bodas. 5 Pero ellos, haciendo caso omiso, se fueron, el uno a su campo, el otro a su negocio, 6 y los demás, echando mano a sus siervos, los afrentaron y los mataron. 7 Entonces el rey se enfureció, y enviando sus ejércitos destruyó a aquellos homicidas y prendió fuego a su ciudad. 8 Después dijo a sus siervos: La boda a la verdad está preparada, pero los invitados no eran dignos. 9 Id pues a las encrucijadas de los caminos, y llamad a la fiesta de bodas a cuantos halléis. 10 Y saliendo aquellos siervos a los caminos, reunieron a todos los que hallaron, tanto malos como buenos, y el salón de bodas se llenó de invitados. 11 Pero cuando el rey entró a ver a los invitados, vio allí a un hombre no vestido con traje de boda. 12 Y le dice: Amigo, ¿cómo entraste aquí sin traje de boda? El asunto del tributo

15 Entonces los fariseos salieron y deliberaron cómo enredarlo en alguna palabra. 16 Y le enviaron a los discípulos de ellos con los herodianos, diciendo: Maestro, sabemos que eres veraz, y con verdad enseñas el camino de Dios, y no te cuidas de nadie, pues no miras la apariencia de los hombres. 17 Dinos pues, ¿qué te parece? ¿Es lícito dar tributo a César, o no? 18 Pero Jesús, conociendo la malicia de ellos, dijo: ¿Por qué me tentáis, hipócritas? 19 Mostradme la moneda del tributo. Y ellos le presentaron un denario. 20 Les dice: ¿De quién es la imagen y la inscripción? 21 Dicen: De César. Entonces les dice: Dad pues a César lo de César, y a Dios lo de Dios. 22 Al oír esto se maravillaron, y dejándolo, se fueron.

Los saduceos y la resurrección

23 En aquel día se le acercaron unos saduceos (que dicen que no hay resurrección), y le preguntaron, 24 diciendo: Maestro, Moisés dijo: Si alguno muere sin tener hijos, su hermano se casará con la mujer de él, y levantará descendencia a su hermano. 25 Ahora bien, había entre nosotros siete hermanos, y el primero murió después de casarse, y no teniendo descendencia, dejó su mujer a su hermano. 26 De la misma manera, también el segundo, y el tercero, así hasta los siete; 27 al final de todos, murió la mujer. 28 En la resurrección, pues, ¿de cuál de los siete será mujer? Porque todos la tuvieron. 29 Entonces, respondiendo Jesús, les dijo: Estáis errando, al ignorar las Escrituras y el poder de Dios; 30 porque en la resurrección, no se casan ni se dan en casamiento, sino que son como los ángeles en el cielo. 31 Pero acerca de la resurrección de los muertos, ¿no leísteis lo dicho por Dios a vosotros, cuando dice: 32 Yo soy el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob? No es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos. 33 Y las multitudes, oyéndolo, se maravillaban de su doctrina.

El mandamiento supremo

34 Cuando los fariseos entonces oyeron que había hecho callar a los saduceos, se reunieron de común acuerdo. 35 Y uno de ellos, experto en la ley, preguntó para tentarlo: 36 Maestro, ¿cuál es el gran mandamiento en la ley? 37 Le dijo: Amarás al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente. 38 Éste es el primero y gran mandamiento, 39 y el segundo es semejante a éste: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. 40 De estos dos mandamientos penden toda la ley y los profetas.

¿De quién es hijo el Mesías?

41 Y habiéndose reunido los fariseos, Jesús les preguntó, 42 diciendo: ¿Qué pensáis del Mesías? ¿De quién es hijo? Le dicen: De David. 43 Les dice: ¿Pues cómo David en el Espíritu lo llama Señor, diciendo: 44 Dijo el Señor a mi Señor: Siéntate a mi diestra, Hasta que ponga a tus enemigos debajo de tus pies? 45 Pues si David lo llama Señor, ¿cómo es su Hijo? 46 Y nadie le podía responder palabra, ni desde aquel día se atrevió ninguno a preguntarle más.

Parabola delle nozze

1 Gesù ricominciò a parlare loro in parabole, dicendo: 2 «Il regno dei cieli può essere paragonato ad un re, il quale fece le nozze di suo figlio. 3 Mandò i suoi servi a chiamare gli invitati alle nozze; ma questi non vollero venire. 4 Mandò una seconda volta altri servi, dicendo: “Dite agli invitati: ‘Io ho preparato il mio pranzo; i miei buoi e i miei animali ingrassati sono ammazzati; tutto è pronto; venite alle nozze’”. 5 Ma quelli, non curandosene, se ne andarono, chi al suo campo, chi al suo commercio; 6 altri poi presero i suoi servi, li maltrattarono e li uccisero. 7 Allora il re si adirò, mandò le sue truppe a sterminare quegli omicidi e a bruciare la loro città. 8 Quindi disse ai suoi servi: “Le nozze sono pronte, ma gli invitati non ne erano degni. 9 Andate dunque ai crocicchi delle strade e chiamate alle nozze quanti troverete”. 10 E quei servi, usciti per le strade, radunarono tutti quelli che trovarono, cattivi e buoni; e la sala delle nozze fu piena di commensali. 11 Ora il re entrò per vedere quelli che erano a tavola e notò là un uomo che non aveva l’abito di nozze. 12 E gli disse: “Amico, come sei entrato qui senza avere un abito di nozze?” E costui rimase con la bocca chiusa. 13 Allora il re disse ai servitori: “Legatelo mani e piedi e gettatelo nelle tenebre di fuori. Lì ci sarà pianto e stridor di denti”. 14 Poiché molti sono chiamati, ma pochi eletti».

Il tributo a Cesare

15 Allora i farisei si ritirarono e tennero consiglio per vedere di coglierlo in fallo nelle sue parole. 16 E gli mandarono i loro discepoli con gli erodiani^[1] a dirgli: «Maestro, noi sappiamo che sei sincero e insegni la via di Dio secondo verità, e non hai riguardi per nessuno perché non badi all’apparenza delle persone. 17 Dicci dunque: che te ne pare? È lecito, o no, pagare il tributo a Cesare?» 18 Ma Gesù, conoscendo la loro malizia, disse: «Perché mi tentate, ipocriti? 19 Mostratemi la moneta del tributo». Ed essi gli porsero un denaro. 20 Ed egli domandò loro: «Di chi è questa effigie e questa iscrizione?» 21 Gli risposero: «Di Cesare». E Gesù disse loro: «Rendete dunque a Cesare quello che è di Cesare, e a Dio quello che è di Dio». 22 Ed essi, udito ciò, si stupirono e, lasciatolo, se ne andarono.

Dibattito sulla risurrezione

23 In quello stesso giorno vennero a lui dei sadducei, i quali dicono che non vi è risurrezione, e gli domandarono: 24 «Maestro, Mosè ha detto: “Se uno muore senza figli, il fratello suo sposi la moglie di lui e dia una discendenza a suo fratello”^[2]. 25 Vi erano tra di noi sette fratelli; il primo, ammogliatosi, morì; e, non avendo prole, lasciò sua moglie a suo fratello. 26 Lo stesso fece pure il secondo, poi il terzo, fino al settimo. 27 Infine, dopo tutti, morì anche la donna. 28 Alla risurrezione, dunque, di quale dei sette sarà ella moglie? Poiché tutti l’hanno avuta». 29 Ma Gesù rispose loro: «Voi errate, perché non conoscete le Scritture, né la potenza di Dio. 30 Perché alla risurrezione non si prende né si dà moglie; ma i risorti sono come angeli nei cieli. 31 Quanto poi alla risurrezione dei morti, non avete letto quello che vi è stato detto da Dio: 32 “Io sono il Dio di Abraamo, il Dio di Isacco e il Dio di Giacobbe”^[3]? Egli non è il Dio dei morti, ma dei vivi». 33 E la folla, udite queste cose, si stupiva del suo insegnamento.

Il gran comandamento

34 I farisei, udito che egli aveva chiuso la bocca ai sadducei, si radunarono; 35 e uno di loro, {dottore della legge,} gli fece una domanda per metterlo alla prova: 36 «Maestro, qual è, nella legge, il gran comandamento?» 37 Gesù gli disse: «“Ama il Signore Dio tuo con tutto il tuo cuore, con tutta la tua anima e con tutta la tua mente”^[4]. 38 Questo è il grande e il primo comandamento. 39 Il secondo, simile a questo, è: “Ama il tuo prossimo come te stesso”^[5]. 40 Da questi due comandamenti dipendono tutta la legge e i profeti».

Gesù interroga i farisei

41 Essendo i farisei riuniti, Gesù li interrogò, 42 dicendo: «Che cosa pensate del Cristo? Di chi è figlio?» Essi gli risposero: «Di Davide». 43 Ed egli a loro: «Come mai dunque Davide, ispirato dallo Spirito, lo chiama Signore, dicendo: 44 “Il Signore ha detto al mio Signore: ‘Siedi alla mia destra finché io abbia messo i tuoi nemici sotto i tuoi piedi’”^[6]? 45 Se dunque Davide lo chiama Signore, come può essere suo figlio?» 46 E nessuno poteva replicargli parola; da quel giorno nessuno ardì più interrogarlo.
