Lob auf Gottes Schöpfung und Weisung

1 Für den Chormeister. Ein Psalm Davids. 2 Die Himmel erzählen die Herrlichkeit Gottes und das Firmament kündet das Werk seiner Hände. (Ps 50,6; Sir 43,1) 3 Ein Tag sagt es dem andern, eine Nacht tut es der andern kund, 4 ohne Rede und ohne Worte, ungehört bleibt ihre Stimme. 5 Doch ihre Botschaft geht in die ganze Welt hinaus, / ihre Kunde bis zu den Enden der Erde. Dort hat er der Sonne ein Zelt gebaut.^[1] (Röm 10,18) 6 Sie tritt aus ihrem Gemach hervor wie ein Bräutigam; sie frohlockt wie ein Held, ihre Bahn zu laufen.^[2] 7 Am einen Ende des Himmels geht sie auf / und läuft bis ans andere Ende; nichts kann sich vor ihrer Glut verbergen. 8 Die Weisung des HERRN ist vollkommen, sie erquickt den Menschen. Das Zeugnis des HERRN ist verlässlich, den Unwissenden macht es weise. (Ps 12,7) 9 Die Befehle des HERRN sind gerade, sie erfüllen das Herz mit Freude. Das Gebot des HERRN ist rein, es erleuchtet die Augen. 10 Die Furcht des HERRN ist lauter, sie besteht für immer. Die Urteile des HERRN sind wahrhaftig, gerecht sind sie alle. 11 Sie sind kostbarer als Gold, als Feingold in Menge. Sie sind süßer als Honig, als Honig aus Waben. (Ps 119,72) 12 Auch dein Knecht lässt sich von ihnen warnen; reichen Lohn hat, wer sie beachtet. 13 Versehentliche Fehler, wer nimmt sie wahr? Sprich mich frei von verborgenen Sünden! 14 Verschone deinen Knecht auch vor vermessenen Menschen; sie sollen nicht über mich herrschen! Dann bin ich vollkommen und frei von schwerer Sünde. 15 Die Worte meines Munds mögen dir gefallen; / was ich im Herzen erwäge, stehe dir vor Augen, HERR, mein Fels und mein Erlöser. (Ps 92,16)

The Law of the Lord Is Perfect

1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above^[1] proclaims his handiwork. (Ps 50,6; Röm 1,19) 2 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. 3 There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. 4 Their voice^[2] goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, (Pred 1,5; Jes 28,10; Röm 10,18) 5 which comes out like a bridegroom leaving his chamber, and, like a strong man, runs its course with joy. 8 the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; (Ps 12,6; Ps 13,3; Ps 103,18; Ps 111,7; Ps 119,4; Ps 119,27)

9 the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules^[4] of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. I cieli raccontano la gloria di Dio e il firmamento annuncia l’opera delle sue mani. 2 Un giorno rivolge parole all’altro, una notte comunica conoscenza all’altra. 3 Non hanno favella, né parole; la loro voce non s’ode, 4 ma il loro suono si diffonde per tutta la terra, i loro accenti giungono fino all’estremità del mondo. Là, Dio ha posto una tenda per il sole, 5 ed esso è simile a uno sposo che esce dalla sua camera nuziale; gioisce come un prode lieto di percorrere la sua via. 6 Egli esce da un’estremità dei cieli e il suo giro arriva fino all’altra estremità; nulla sfugge al suo calore. 7 La legge del Signore è perfetta, essa ristora l’anima; la testimonianza del Signore è veritiera, rende saggio il semplice. 8 I precetti del Signore sono giusti, rallegrano il cuore; il comandamento del Signore è limpido, illumina gli occhi. 9 Il timore del Signore è puro, sussiste per sempre; i giudizi del Signore sono verità, tutti quanti sono giusti, 10 sono più desiderabili dell’oro, anzi, più di molto oro finissimo; sono più dolci del miele, anzi, di quello che stilla dai favi. 11 Anche il tuo servo è da essi ammaestrato; v’è gran ricompensa a osservarli. 12 Chi conosce i suoi errori? Purificami da quelli che mi sono occulti. 13 Trattieni inoltre il tuo servo dai peccati volontari e fa’ che non prendano il sopravvento su di me; allora sarò integro e puro da grandi trasgressioni. 14 Siano gradite le parole della mia bocca e la meditazione del mio cuore in tua presenza, o Signore, mia rocca e mio redentore!
