1 A Song of Ascents. When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. (Ps 14:7; Ps 120:1; Ac 12:9) 2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” (Job 8:21; Ps 71:19) 3 The Lord has done great things for us; we are glad. 4 Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negeb! 5 Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! (Ezr 6:22; Ne 12:43; Jer 31:9; Hag 2:3; Ga 6:9) 6 He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

1 Ein Wallfahrtslied. Als der HERR die Gefangenen Zions zurückbrachte, da waren wir wie Träumende. (Ezr 1:2; Ps 85:2; Lu 24:11; Ac 12:9; Ac 12:15) 2 Da war unser Mund voll Lachen und unsere Zunge voll Jubel; da sagte man unter den Heiden: »Der HERR hat Großes an ihnen getan!« (Job 8:21; Ps 53:7; Isa 35:10; Eze 36:36; Mr 7:37) 3 Der HERR hat Großes an uns getan, wir sind fröhlich geworden. (Ezr 3:11; Lu 1:49) 4 HERR, bringe unsere Gefangenen zurück wie die Bäche im Negev! (Isa 41:18; Jer 29:14) 5 Die mit Tränen säen, werden mit Freuden ernten. (Jer 31:9; Mt 5:4; Joh 16:21; Ac 20:19; Ac 20:31; Heb 5:7) 6 Wer weinend hingeht und den Samen zur Aussaat trägt, der kommt gewiss mit Freuden zurück und bringt seine Garben. (Ezr 6:16; Ezr 6:22; Ps 30:6; Isa 61:3; Ac 16:23; 2Co 2:4)
