O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. (Ps 27:4; Ps 78:61)3Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. (Ps 69:16)4So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands. (Ps 20:1; Ps 20:5; Ps 28:2; Ps 104:33; Ps 146:2)5My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, (Ps 36:8)6when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; (Ps 42:8)7for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. (Ps 17:8)8My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. Un psalm al lui David compus pe când era în pustia Iudeei.
1Dumnezeule, Tu ești Dumnezeul meu! Te caut cu ardoare; îmi însetează sufletul după Tine, îmi tânjește trupul după Tine într‑un pământ uscat, sterp și fără apă.2Da, Te‑am văzut în Lăcașul Tău cel sfânt și am privit la tăria și la slava Ta.3Pentru că îndurarea Ta prețuiește mai mult decât viața, de aceea buzele mele Te vor lăuda.4Așadar, Te voi binecuvânta toată viața mea și în Numele Tău îmi voi ridica mâinile.5Sufletul meu se satură de Tine ca de niște bucate grase și miezoase, iar gura mea Te laudă cu strigăte de bucurie pe buze.6Îmi amintesc de Tine în așternutul meu; în timpul străjilor nopții[1] cuget la Tine. (Jud 7:19; 1Sa 11:11)7Căci Tu ești ajutorul meu, strig de bucurie la umbra aripilor Tale!8Sufletul meu este lipit de Tine, dreapta Ta mă sprijină.9Dar aceia care caută distrugerea vieții mele vor merge în cele mai de jos locuri ale pământului.10Vor fi trecuți prin ascuțișul sabiei; vor fi prada șacalilor.11Regele însă se va bucura în Dumnezeu! Oricine jură pe El se va lăuda, căci gura celor ce rostesc minciuna va fi astupată.
