1 To the choirmaster. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth.[1] A Song. God is our refuge and strength, a very present[2] help in trouble. (De 4:7; 1Ch 15:20; Ps 9:9; Ps 14:6; Ps 42:1; Ps 145:18) 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, (Ps 18:7; Eze 27:26) 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. (Ps 93:3; Jer 5:22) 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. (Ps 36:8; Ps 43:3; Ps 48:1; Ps 65:9; Ps 84:1; Ps 87:3; Isa 8:6; Isa 33:21; Isa 60:14; Re 22:1) 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. (Le 26:12; De 23:14; Isa 12:6; Eze 43:7; Eze 43:9; Ho 11:9; Joe 2:27; Zep 3:15; Zec 2:5; Zec 2:10; Zec 8:3) 6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. (Ex 15:15; Jos 2:9; Jos 2:24; Ps 2:1; Ps 18:13; Ps 68:33; Ps 76:8; Jer 25:30; Joe 2:11; Joe 3:16; Am 1:2; Am 9:5) 7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Nu 14:9; 2Ch 13:12; 2Ch 20:17; Ps 46:11) 8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, how he has brought desolations on the earth. (Ps 66:5) 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. (1Sa 2:4; Ps 76:3; Isa 2:4; Eze 39:9; Mic 4:3) 10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Ex 14:13; Isa 2:11; Isa 2:17; Isa 33:10) 11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Ps 46:7)

1 Ein Lied der Korachiter, vorzusingen, nach der Weise »Junge Frauen«. 2 Gott ist unsre Zuversicht und Stärke, eine Hilfe in den großen Nöten, die uns getroffen haben. 3 Darum fürchten wir uns nicht, wenngleich die Welt unterginge und die Berge mitten ins Meer sänken, 4 wenngleich das Meer wütete und wallte und von seinem Ungestüm die Berge einfielen. Sela. 5 Dennoch soll die Stadt Gottes fein lustig bleiben mit ihren Brünnlein, da die heiligen Wohnungen des Höchsten sind.[1] (Isa 12:3) 6 Gott ist bei ihr drinnen, darum wird sie fest bleiben; Gott hilft ihr früh am Morgen. 7 Die Völker müssen verzagen und die Königreiche fallen, das Erdreich muss vergehen, wenn er sich hören lässt. 8 Der HERR Zebaoth ist mit uns, der Gott Jakobs ist unser Schutz. Sela. 9 Kommt her und schauet die Werke des HERRN, der auf Erden solch ein Zerstören anrichtet, (2Ki 19:35) 10 der den Kriegen ein Ende macht in aller Welt, der Bogen zerbricht, Spieße zerschlägt und Wagen mit Feuer verbrennt. (Ps 76:4) 11 Seid stille und erkennet, dass ich Gott bin! Ich will mich erheben unter den Völkern, ich will mich erheben auf Erden. 12 Der HERR Zebaoth ist mit uns, der Gott Jakobs ist unser Schutz. Sela.
