Remember, O Lord, in David’s favor, all the hardships he endured, (1Ch 22:14; Ps 120:1)2how he swore to the Lord and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob, (Ge 49:24; Ps 50:14; Ps 132:5; Isa 49:26; Isa 60:16)3“I will not enter my house or get into my bed,4I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, (Pr 6:4)5until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.” (1Ch 22:7; Ps 132:2; Ac 7:46)6Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of Jaar. (Ge 35:19; 1Sa 7:1; 1Sa 17:12)7“Let us go to his dwelling place; let us worship at his footstool!” (Ps 5:7; Ps 99:5)8Arise, O Lord, and go to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. (2Ch 6:41; Ps 68:1; Ps 78:61; Ps 132:14)9Let your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let your saints shout for joy. (Job 29:14; Ps 132:16; Ps 149:5)10For the sake of your servant David, do not turn away the face of your anointed one. (1Ki 1:39; 2Ki 18:24; Ps 132:17)11The Lord swore to David a sure oath from which he will not turn back: “One of the sons of your body[1] I will set on your throne. (2Sa 7:12; 2Ch 6:16; Ps 89:3; Ps 89:34; Ps 110:4; Lu 1:32; Ac 2:30)12If your sons keep my covenant and my testimonies that I shall teach them, their sons also forever shall sit on your throne.” (1Ki 8:25; Job 36:7)13For the Lord has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place: (Ps 68:16; Ps 78:68; Ps 135:21)14“This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it. (Ps 132:8; Mt 23:21)15I will abundantly bless her provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread. (Ru 1:6; Ps 147:14)16Her priests I will clothe with salvation, and her saints will shout for joy. (Ps 132:9)17There I will make a horn to sprout for David; I have prepared a lamp for my anointed. (1Ki 11:36; 1Ki 15:4; 2Ki 8:19; 2Ch 21:7; Ps 132:10; Eze 29:21; Lu 1:69)18His enemies I will clothe with shame, but on him his crown will shine.” (Job 8:22)

Gedenke, HERR, an David und all seine Mühsal,2der dem HERRN geschworen und gelobt hat dem Mächtigen Jakobs:3Ich will nicht in das Zelt meines Hauses gehen noch mich aufs Lager meines Bettes legen, (2Sa 7:2; Ac 7:46)4ich will meine Augen nicht schlafen lassen noch meine Augenlider schlummern,5bis ich eine Stätte finde für den HERRN, eine Wohnung für den Mächtigen Jakobs.6Siehe, wir hörten von ihr in Efrata, wir haben sie gefunden im Gefilde von Jaar.7Wir wollen in seine Wohnung gehen und anbeten vor dem Schemel seiner Füße.8HERR, mache dich auf zur Stätte deiner Ruhe, du und die Lade deiner Macht! (Nu 10:35; 2Ch 6:41; Ps 78:61)9Deine Priester lass sich kleiden mit Gerechtigkeit und deine Heiligen sich freuen.10Weise nicht ab das Antlitz deines Gesalbten um deines Knechtes David willen!11Der HERR hat David in Treue geschworen, davon wird er sich nicht wenden: Ich will auf deinen Thron setzen die Frucht deines Leibes. (Ps 89:4; Heb 6:17)12Werden deine Söhne meinen Bund halten und mein Zeugnis, das ich sie lehren werde, so sollen auch ihre Söhne auf deinem Thron sitzen ewiglich.13Denn der HERR hat Zion erwählt, und es gefällt ihm, dort zu wohnen. (Ps 68:17; Ps 76:3)14»Dies ist die Stätte meiner Ruhe ewiglich; hier will ich wohnen, denn es gefällt mir wohl.15Ich will ihre Speise segnen und ihren Armen Brot genug geben.16Ihre Priester will ich mit Heil kleiden, und ihre Heiligen sollen fröhlich sein.17Daselbst lasse ich aufgehen das Horn Davids, ich habe meinem Gesalbten eine Leuchte zugerichtet; (1Sa 2:10; 1Ki 11:36)18seine Feinde will ich in Schande kleiden, aber über ihm soll blühen seine Krone.«

Eternel, souviens-toi de David, de tout ce qu'il a souffert!2Il a fait un serment à l'Eternel, il a fait ce vœu au puissant de Jacob:3«Je n'entrerai pas dans ma maison, je ne monterai pas sur mon lit,4je ne donnerai pas de sommeil à mes yeux ni de repos à mes paupières5avant d'avoir trouvé un endroit pour l'Eternel, une demeure pour le puissant de Jacob.»6Oui, nous avons appris que l'arche était à Ephrata, nous l'avons trouvée dans les champs de Jaar.7Allons à la demeure du Seigneur, prosternons-nous à ses pieds!8Lève-toi, Eternel, viens à ton lieu de repos, toi et l'arche où réside ta force!9Que tes prêtres aient la justice pour habit et que tes fidèles poussent des cris de joie!10A cause de ton serviteur David, ne repousse pas celui que tu as désigné par onction![1] (2Ch 6:41)11L'Eternel a fait ce serment véridique à David, et il ne reviendra pas sur ce qu'il a promis: «Je mettrai sur ton trône un de tes enfants.12Si tes fils respectent mon alliance et les instructions que je leur donne, leurs fils aussi seront assis pour toujours sur ton trône.»13Oui, l'Eternel a choisi Sion, il l'a désirée pour lieu d'habitation:14«C'est mon lieu de repos pour toujours. J'y habiterai, car je l'ai désiré.15Je bénirai sa nourriture, je rassasierai de pain ses pauvres,16je revêtirai ses prêtres de salut, et ses fidèles pousseront des cris de joie.17Là je ferai grandir la puissance de David, je préparerai un successeur pour celui que j'ai désigné par onction.18Je donnerai la honte pour vêtement à ses ennemis, tandis que sur son front brillera sa couronne.»
