Or does the Almighty pervert the right? (Ge 18:25; De 32:4; 2Ch 19:7; Ezr 9:15; Job 34:12; Da 9:14; Ro 3:5)4If your children have sinned against him, he has delivered them into the hand of their transgression. (Job 1:5; Job 1:18)5If you will seek God and plead with the Almighty for mercy, (Job 9:15)6if you are pure and upright, surely then he will rouse himself for you and restore your rightful habitation. (Ps 7:6; Pr 3:33)7And though your beginning was small, your latter days will be very great. (Job 42:12; Jas 5:11)8“For inquire, please, of bygone ages, and consider what the fathers have searched out. (De 4:32; De 32:7; Job 15:18)9For we are but of yesterday and know nothing, for our days on earth are a shadow. (Ps 80:11)17His roots entwine the stone heap; he looks upon a house of stones.18If he is destroyed from his place, then it will deny him, saying, ‘I have never seen you.’ (Job 7:8; Job 7:10)19Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the soil others will spring. (1Sa 2:7; Ps 103:16; Ps 113:7)20“Behold, God will not reject a blameless man, nor take the hand of evildoers.21He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting. (Job 34:10)4Haben deine Söhne vor ihm gesündigt, so hat er sie ihrer Missetat preisgegeben. (Job 1:4)5Wenn du aber dich zu Gott wendest und zu dem Allmächtigen um Gnade flehst,6wenn du rein und fromm bist, so wird er deinetwegen aufwachen und wird wieder herstellen deine Wohnung, wie es dir zusteht. (Ps 35:23)7Ist dein Anfang auch gering, wird doch dein Ende herrlich sein. (Job 42:10)8Denn frage die früheren Geschlechter und merke auf das, was ihre Väter erforscht haben,9denn wir sind von gestern her und wissen nichts; unsere Tage sind ein Schatten auf Erden.10Sind sie es nicht, die dich lehren und dir sagen und ihre Rede aus ihrem Herzen hervorbringen:11»Kann auch Rohr aufwachsen, wo es nicht feucht ist, oder Schilf wachsen ohne Wasser?12Noch steht’s in Blüte, bevor man es schneidet, da verdorrt es schon vor allem Gras.13So sind die Wege aller, die Gott vergessen, und die Hoffnung des Ruchlosen wird verloren sein. (Job 11:20; Pr 10:28)14Denn seine Zuversicht vergeht, und seine Hoffnung ist ein Spinnweb.15Er verlässt sich auf sein Haus, aber es hält nicht stand; er hält sich daran, aber es bleibt nicht stehen.16Er steht voll Saft im Sonnenschein, und seine Reiser wachsen hinaus über seinen Garten,17über Steinhaufen schlingen sich seine Wurzeln und zwischen Steinen hält er sich fest.18Wenn man ihn aber vertilgt von seiner Stätte, so wird sie ihn verleugnen, als kennte sie ihn nicht.19Siehe, das ist das Glück seines Lebens, und aus dem Staube werden andre wachsen.«20Siehe, Gott verwirft die Frommen nicht und hält die Hand der Boshaften nicht fest,21bis er deinen Mund voll Lachens mache und deine Lippen voll Jauchzens.22Die dich aber hassen, müssen sich in Schmach kleiden, und die Hütte der Gottlosen wird nicht bestehen.

Le Tout-Puissant fausserait-il la justice?4Si tes fils ont péché contre lui, il les a livrés aux conséquences de leur révolte.5Mais toi, si tu recherches vraiment Dieu, si tu implores la grâce du Tout-Puissant,6si tu es sans reproche et droit, c'est certain, il ne tardera pas à intervenir en ta faveur et il restaurera le domaine qui abrite ta justice.7Ta condition première semblera peu importante, tant celle qui viendra par la suite sera belle.8»Interroge donc les membres de la génération précédente, sois attentif à l'expérience de leurs ancêtres.9En effet, nous sommes d'hier et nous ne savons rien, nos jours sur la terre ne sont qu'une ombre.10Eux, ne t'instruiront-ils pas? Certainement, ils te le diront, ils tireront de leur expérience ces propos:11‘Le papyrus pousse-t-il sans marais? Le roseau grandit-il sans eau?12Encore vert et sans qu'on ne l'ait coupé, il sèche plus vite que toutes les herbes.’13»Voilà ce qui arrive à tous ceux qui oublient Dieu, et l'espérance de l'impie s'évanouira.14Ses certitudes sont fragiles, sa sécurité n'est qu'une toile d'araignée.15Il s'appuie sur sa maison, mais elle n'est pas solide; il s'y cramponne, mais elle ne résiste pas.16Rempli de sève en plein soleil, il développe ses rameaux sur son jardin,17ses racines s'entrelacent dans un tas de cailloux, il scrute le creux des pierres.18Si on l'arrache de l'endroit qu'il occupait, celui-ci le renie: ‘Je ne t'ai jamais vu!’19»Voilà tout le bonheur que lui procure sa conduite! Puis, sur le même sol, d'autres surgissent après lui.20Non, Dieu ne rejette pas l'homme intègre et il n'affermit pas les mains de ceux qui font le mal.21Bientôt il remplira ta bouche de rires, et tes lèvres de cris de joie.22Ceux qui te détestent seront couverts de honte, la tente des méchants disparaîtra.»
