1And the word of the Lord came to me:2“Son of man, how does the wood of the vine surpass any wood, the vine branch that is among the trees of the forest? (Eze 2:1; Eze 15:6)3Is wood taken from it to make anything? Do people take a peg from it to hang any vessel on it? (Isa 22:23)4Behold, it is given to the fire for fuel. When the fire has consumed both ends of it, and the middle of it is charred, is it useful for anything? (Joh 15:6)5Behold, when it was whole, it was used for nothing. How much less, when the fire has consumed it and it is charred, can it ever be used for anything! (Eze 15:3)6Therefore thus says the Lord God: Like the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem. (Ps 80:8; Isa 5:1; Eze 15:4; Eze 17:6; Eze 19:10)7And I will set my face against them. Though they escape from the fire, the fire shall yet consume them, and you will know that I am the Lord, when I set my face against them. (2Ki 25:9; Eze 6:7; Eze 14:8)8And I will make the land desolate, because they have acted faithlessly, declares the Lord God.” (Eze 6:14; Eze 14:13)
1Und des HERRN Wort geschah zu mir:2Du Menschenkind, was hat das Holz des Weinstocks voraus vor anderm Holz, das Rebholz, das im Gehölz wächst?3Nimmt man es denn und macht etwas daraus? Macht man auch nur einen Pflock daraus, an den man etwas hängen kann?4Siehe, man wirft’s ins Feuer, dass es verzehrt wird. Wenn das Feuer seine beiden Enden verzehrt hat und die Mitte versengt ist, wozu sollte es dann noch taugen? (Joh 15:6)5Siehe, als es noch unversehrt war, konnte man nichts daraus machen; wie viel weniger kann dann noch daraus gemacht werden, wenn es das Feuer verzehrt und versengt hat!6Darum, so spricht Gott der HERR: Wie ich das Holz des Weinstocks, das im Gehölz wächst, dem Feuer zu verzehren gebe, so will ich auch die Einwohner Jerusalems dahingeben7und will mein Angesicht gegen sie richten: Sie sind dem Feuer entgangen, aber das Feuer soll sie doch fressen! Und ihr sollt erfahren, dass ich der HERR bin, wenn ich mein Angesicht gegen sie richte8und das Land zur Einöde mache, weil sie die Treue gebrochen haben, spricht Gott der HERR.
1La parole de l'Eternel m'a été adressée:2«Fils de l'homme, le bois de la vigne, qu'a-t-il de plus que tout autre bois, que les branches qui sont sur les arbres de la forêt?3Tire-t-on de ce bois de quoi fabriquer quelque chose? En tire-t-on un crochet pour y suspendre un objet?4Au contraire, on le jette au feu pour qu'il le dévore; le feu dévore ses deux extrémités, et son milieu finit calciné. Sera-t-il donc utile à quelque chose?5Puisqu'on n'en faisait rien quand il était entier, on peut d'autant moins en faire quelque chose quand le feu l'a dévoré et qu'il est calciné!6»C'est pourquoi, voici ce que dit le Seigneur, l'Eternel: Tout comme je jette au feu le bois de la vigne pour qu'il le dévore de préférence au bois de la forêt, je jette au feu les habitants de Jérusalem:7je me retournerai contre eux; ils auront beau être sortis du feu, le feu les dévorera. Vous reconnaîtrez que je suis l'Eternel, quand je m'en prendrai à eux.8Je ferai du pays un endroit désert parce qu'ils ont été infidèles, déclare le Seigneur, l'Eternel.»
