1 “Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whom the Lord has put skill and intelligence to know how to do any work in the construction of the sanctuary shall work in accordance with all that the Lord has commanded.” (Ex 28:3; Ex 31:6; Ex 35:10; Ex 35:25)

2 And Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whose mind the Lord had put skill, everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to do the work. (Ex 25:2) 3 And they received from Moses all the contribution that the people of Israel had brought for doing the work on the sanctuary. They still kept bringing him freewill offerings every morning, (Ex 35:24; Ex 35:29) 4 so that all the craftsmen who were doing every sort of task on the sanctuary came, each from the task that he was doing, 5 and said to Moses, “The people bring much more than enough for doing the work that the Lord has commanded us to do.” (2Ch 31:10; 2Co 8:2) 6 So Moses gave command, and word was proclaimed throughout the camp, “Let no man or woman do anything more for the contribution for the sanctuary.” So the people were restrained from bringing, (Ex 36:3) 7 for the material they had was sufficient to do all the work, and more. 8 And all the craftsmen among the workmen made the tabernacle with ten curtains. They were made of fine twined linen and blue and purple and scarlet yarns, with cherubim skillfully worked. (Ex 26:1) 9 The length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits,^[1] and the breadth of each curtain four cubits. All the curtains were the same size. 10 He^[2] coupled five curtains to one another, and the other five curtains he coupled to one another. 11 He made loops of blue on the edge of the outermost curtain of the first set. Likewise he made them on the edge of the outermost curtain of the second set. 12 He made fifty loops on the one curtain, and he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was in the second set. The loops were opposite one another. 13 And he made fifty clasps of gold, and coupled the curtains one to the other with clasps. So the tabernacle was a single whole. 14 He also made curtains of goats’ hair for a tent over the tabernacle. He made eleven curtains. 15 The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits. The eleven curtains were the same size. 16 He coupled five curtains by themselves, and six curtains by themselves. 17 And he made fifty loops on the edge of the outermost curtain of the one set, and fifty loops on the edge of the other connecting curtain. 18 And he made fifty clasps of bronze to couple the tent together that it might be a single whole. 19 And he made for the tent a covering of tanned rams’ skins and goatskins. 20 Then he made the upright frames for the tabernacle of acacia wood. 21 Ten cubits was the length of a frame, and a cubit and a half the breadth of each frame. 22 Each frame had two tenons for fitting together. He did this for all the frames of the tabernacle. 23 The frames for the tabernacle he made thus: twenty frames for the south side. 24 And he made forty bases of silver under the twenty frames, two bases under one frame for its two tenons, and two bases under the next frame for its two tenons. 25 For the second side of the tabernacle, on the north side, he made twenty frames 26 and their forty bases of silver, two bases under one frame and two bases under the next frame. 27 For the rear of the tabernacle westward he made six frames. 28 He made two frames for corners of the tabernacle in the rear. 29 And they were separate beneath but joined at the top, at the first ring. He made two of them this way for the two corners. 30 There were eight frames with their bases of silver: sixteen bases, under every frame two bases. 31 He made bars of acacia wood, five for the frames of the one side of the tabernacle, 32 and five bars for the frames of the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the frames of the tabernacle at the rear westward. 33 And he made the middle bar to run from end to end halfway up the frames. 34 And he overlaid the frames with gold, and made their rings of gold for holders for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold. 35 He made the veil of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen; with cherubim skillfully worked into it he made it. (Ex 26:31) 36 And for it he made four pillars of acacia and overlaid them with gold. Their hooks were of gold, and he cast for them four bases of silver. 37 He also made a screen for the entrance of the tent, of blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, embroidered with needlework, 38 and its five pillars with their hooks. He overlaid their capitals, and their fillets were of gold, but their five bases were of bronze.

1 So sollen denn arbeiten Bezalel und Oholiab und alle kundigen Männer, denen der HERR Weisheit und Verstand gegeben hat zu wissen, wie sie alle Arbeit ausführen sollen zum Dienst des Heiligtums, ganz nach dem Gebot des HERRN. 2 Und Mose berief Bezalel und Oholiab und alle kundigen Männer, denen der HERR Weisheit ins Herz gegeben hatte, alle, die sich freiwillig erboten, ans Werk zu gehen und es auszurichten. 3 Und sie empfingen von Mose alle Abgaben, die die Israeliten gebracht hatten, um die Arbeiten zum Dienst des Heiligtums auszuführen. Und man brachte auch weiterhin alle Morgen freiwillige Gaben zu ihm. 4 Da kamen alle kundigen Männer, die am Werk des Heiligtums arbeiteten, ein jeder von der Arbeit, die er machte, 5 und sprachen zu Mose: Das Volk bringt zu viel, mehr als zum Dienst dieses Werkes nötig ist, das der HERR zu machen geboten hat. 6 Da gebot Mose, dass man durchs Lager rufen ließe: Niemand, weder Mann noch Frau, soll hinfort noch etwas hinzutun zur Abgabe für das Heiligtum. Da brachte das Volk nichts mehr. 7 Denn es war genug gebracht worden zu allen Arbeiten, die zu machen waren, und es war noch übrig geblieben.

Die Herstellung der Stiftshütte

8 So machten alle kundigen Männer unter den Arbeitern die Wohnung aus zehn Teppichen von gezwirntem feinem Leinen, blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin, und Cherubim waren eingewebt, wie es ein Kunstweber macht. (Ex 26:1) 9 Die Länge eines Teppichs war achtundzwanzig Ellen und die Breite vier Ellen, und alle waren von ein und demselben Maß. 10 Und er fügte je fünf Teppiche zu einer Bahn zusammen, einen an den andern. 11 Und er machte blaue Schlaufen an beiden Bahnen jeweils an dem Rand, an dem sie zusammengeheftet werden, 12 fünfzig Schlaufen an jeder Bahn, dass eine Schlaufe der andern gegenüberstünde. 13 Und er machte fünfzig goldene Haken und heftete die Teppiche mit den Haken einen an den andern zusammen, auf dass die Wohnung ein Ganzes sei. 14 Und er machte elf Teppiche von Ziegenhaaren zum Zelte über die Wohnung, 15 dreißig Ellen lang und vier Ellen breit, die alle dasselbe Maß haben; 16 und fügte fünf aneinander und die sechs andern auch. 17 Und er machte fünfzig Schlaufen an jeder Bahn am Rand, wo die Bahnen zusammengeheftet werden, 18 und machte je fünfzig Haken aus Bronze, damit das Zelt zusammengefügt werde und ein Ganzes sei. 19 Und er machte eine Decke über das Zelt von rot gefärbten Widderfellen und darüber noch eine Decke von Leder. 20 Und er machte Bretter für die Wohnung, aus Akazienholz, zum Aufstellen, 21 ein jedes zehn Ellen lang und anderthalb Ellen breit 22 und an jedem zwei Zapfen, damit eins an das andere gesetzt würde. So machte er alle Bretter für die Wohnung, 23 dass zwanzig Bretter nach Süden standen. 24 Und er machte vierzig silberne Füße unter die zwanzig Bretter, unter jedes Brett zwei Füße für seine zwei Zapfen. 25 Ebenso machte er auf der andern Seite der Wohnung nach Norden zwanzig Bretter 26 mit vierzig silbernen Füßen, unter jedes Brett zwei Füße. 27 Und für die Rückseite der Wohnung nach Westen machte er sechs Bretter 28 und zwei andere für die zwei Ecken an der Rückseite der Wohnung. 29 Und sie waren doppelt gelegt von unten her und gut aneinandergefügt bis oben hin zum ersten Ring. So machte er es für beide Eckbretter. 30 Und es waren acht Bretter und sechzehn silberne Füße, unter jedem Brett zwei Füße. 31 Und er machte Riegel aus Akazienholz, fünf zu den Brettern auf der einen Langseite der Wohnung 32 und fünf auf der andern Langseite und fünf auf der Rückseite nach Westen. 33 Und er machte den Mittelriegel, dass er in halber Höhe an den Brettern entlanglief von einem Ende zum andern. 34 Und er überzog die Bretter mit Gold, und ihre Ringe machte er aus Gold, dass man die Riegel hineintäte, und überzog die Riegel mit Gold. 35 Und er machte den Vorhang aus blauem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem feinem Leinen. Wie ein Kunstweber machte er ihn mit Cherubim. 36 Und er machte für ihn vier Säulen aus Akazienholz und überzog sie mit Gold und ihre Nägel waren aus Gold, und er goss dazu vier silberne Füße. 37 Und er machte eine Decke für den Eingang des Zeltes, bunt gewebt aus blauem und rotem Purpur, Karmesin und gezwirntem feinem Leinen, 38 und dazu fünf Säulen mit ihren Nägeln und überzog ihre Köpfe und Ringbänder mit Gold und machte fünf Füße aus Bronze daran.

1 »Betsaleel, Oholiab et tous les artisans en qui l'Eternel a mis de l'habileté et de l'intelligence pour savoir faire ces travaux réaliseront les objets destinés au service du sanctuaire en se conformant à tous les commandements de l'Eternel.» 2 Moïse appela Betsaleel, Oholiab et tous les artisans dans l'esprit desquels l'Eternel avait mis de l'habileté, tous ceux dont le cœur était disposé à s'appliquer à ce travail pour le réaliser. 3 Ils prirent devant Moïse toutes les offrandes qu'avaient apportées les Israélites pour faire les objets destinés au service du sanctuaire. Chaque matin, on apportait encore à Moïse des offrandes volontaires. 4 Alors tous les hommes habiles qui réalisaient tous les travaux du sanctuaire quittèrent chacun l'ouvrage auquel ils étaient occupés 5 et vinrent dire à Moïse: «Le peuple apporte beaucoup plus qu'il ne faut pour réaliser le travail que l'Eternel a ordonné de faire.» 6 Moïse fit faire cette proclamation dans le camp: «Que personne, homme ou femme, ne prépare plus d'offrandes pour le sanctuaire.» On empêcha ainsi le peuple d'en apporter. 7 Les objets préparés suffisaient pour tous les travaux à réaliser, et il y en avait même trop.

Les couvertures

8 Tous les artisans qui accomplirent ce travail firent le tabernacle avec 10 tapis en fin lin retors et en fil bleu, pourpre et cramoisi. On y représenta des chérubins selon l'art du brodeur. 9 La longueur d'un tapis était de 14 mètres et sa largeur de 2 mètres. La mesure était la même pour tous les tapis. 10 On attacha 5 de ces tapis ensemble, les 5 autres furent aussi attachés ensemble. 11 On fit des lacets bleus sur le bord du tapis terminant le premier assemblage et on fit de même sur le bord du tapis terminant le second assemblage. 12 On mit 50 lacets au premier tapis et 50 lacets sur le bord du tapis terminant le second assemblage; ces lacets correspondaient les uns aux autres. 13 On fit 50 agrafes en or et l'on attacha les tapis l'un à l'autre avec les agrafes. Ainsi le tabernacle forma un tout. 14 On fit des tapis en poil de chèvre destinés à servir de tenture par-dessus le tabernacle. On en fit 11. 15 La longueur d'un tapis était de 15 mètres et sa largeur de 2 mètres. La mesure était la même pour les 11 tapis. 16 On attacha 5 de ces tapis, puis les 6 autres à part. 17 On mit 50 lacets sur le bord du tapis terminant un assemblage et 50 lacets sur le bord du tapis du second assemblage. 18 On fit 50 agrafes en bronze pour assembler la tenture afin qu'elle forme un tout. 19 On fit pour la tenture une couverture de peaux de béliers teintes en rouge et une couverture de peaux de dauphins, qui devaient être mises par-dessus.

Les planches et leurs bases

20 On fit les planches pour le tabernacle. Elles étaient en bois d'acacia et placées debout. 21 La longueur d'une planche était de 5 mètres et sa largeur de 75 centimètres. 22 Il y avait pour chaque planche 2 tenons parallèles. On fit de même pour toutes les planches du tabernacle. 23 On fit 20 planches pour le côté sud du tabernacle. 24 On fit 40 bases en argent à placer sous les 20 planches, 2 bases sous chaque planche correspondant à ses deux tenons. 25 On fit 20 planches pour le deuxième côté du tabernacle, le côté nord, 26 ainsi que leurs 40 bases en argent, 2 bases sous chaque planche. 27 On fit 6 planches pour le fond du tabernacle, le côté ouest. 28 On fit 2 planches pour les angles du tabernacle dans le fond. 29 Elles étaient doubles depuis le bas et bien reliées à leur sommet par un anneau; on fit de même pour les deux planches placées aux deux angles. 30 Il y avait ainsi 8 planches avec leurs bases en argent, soit 16 bases, 2 sous chaque planche. 31 On fit 5 barres en bois d'acacia pour les planches de l'un des côtés du tabernacle, 32 5 barres pour les planches du deuxième côté du tabernacle et 5 barres pour les planches du côté du tabernacle qui formait le fond, orienté à l'ouest. 33 On fit la barre du milieu pour traverser les planches d'une extrémité à l'autre. 34 On couvrit les planches d'or, on fit leurs anneaux destinés à recevoir les barres en or et l'on couvrit les barres d'or.

Les deux voiles

35 On fit le voile en fil bleu, pourpre et cramoisi et en fin lin retors. On le fit selon l'art du brodeur et l'on y représenta des chérubins. 36 On fit pour lui 4 colonnes en acacia et on les couvrit d'or. Elles avaient des crochets en or et l'on fondit pour elles 4 bases en argent. 37 On fit pour l'entrée de la tente un rideau en fil bleu, pourpre et cramoisi et en fin lin retors. C'était un ouvrage de broderie. 38 On fit ses 5 colonnes et leurs crochets et l'on couvrit d'or leurs chapiteaux et leurs tringles. Leurs 5 bases étaient en bronze.
