1The Lord said to Moses, “Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. (Ex 32:19; Ex 34:28; De 10:1; De 10:2; De 10:4)2Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain. (Ex 19:20)3No one shall come up with you, and let no one be seen throughout all the mountain. Let no flocks or herds graze opposite that mountain.” (Ex 19:12; Ex 19:21)4So Moses cut two tablets of stone like the first. And he rose early in the morning and went up on Mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, and took in his hand two tablets of stone.5The Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord. (Ex 33:19; Nu 11:25; 1Ki 8:10)6The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, (Ex 22:27; Nu 14:18; 2Ch 30:9; Ne 9:17; Ps 57:10; Ps 86:15; Ps 103:8; Ps 108:4; Ps 111:4; Ps 112:4; Ps 116:5; Ps 145:8; Joe 2:13)7keeping steadfast love for thousands,[1] forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.” (Ex 20:5; Ex 23:21; De 5:9; De 5:10; Jos 24:19; Job 10:14; Ps 103:3; Ps 130:4; Jer 32:18; Da 9:4; Da 9:9; Na 1:3; 1Jo 1:9)8And Moses quickly bowed his head toward the earth and worshiped. The Covenant Renewed
10And he said, “Behold, I am making a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels, such as have not been created in all the earth or in any nation. And all the people among whom you are shall see the work of the Lord, for it is an awesome thing that I will do with you. (Ex 34:27; De 4:32; De 5:2; De 10:21; De 29:1; Jos 6:20; Jos 10:12; 2Sa 7:23; Ps 77:14; Ps 78:12; Ps 145:6; Isa 64:3)11“Observe what I command you this day. Behold, I will drive out before you the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. (Ex 13:5)12Take care, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land to which you go, lest it become a snare in your midst. (Ex 12:8; Ex 12:10)26The best of the firstfruits of your ground you shall bring to the house of the Lord your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.” (Ex 23:19; De 14:21)27And the Lord said to Moses, “Write these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.” (Ex 34:10)28So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights. He neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.[3] (Ex 24:18; Ex 31:18; Ex 32:16; Ex 34:1; De 4:13; De 10:2; De 10:4)
The Shining Face of Moses
29When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God.[4] (Ex 32:15; Mt 17:2; 2Co 3:7)30Aaron and all the people of Israel saw Moses, and behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him. (Ex 34:29)31But Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and Moses talked with them.32Afterward all the people of Israel came near, and he commanded them all that the Lord had spoken with him in Mount Sinai. (Ex 24:3)33And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face. (2Co 3:13)34Whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he would remove the veil, until he came out. And when he came out and told the people of Israel what he was commanded, (2Co 3:16)35the people of Israel would see the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face was shining. And Moses would put the veil over his face again, until he went in to speak with him. (Ex 34:29)
Neue Gesetzestafeln. Bundesschluss und Bundespflichten
1Und der HERR sprach zu Mose: Haue dir zwei steinerne Tafeln zu, wie die ersten waren, dass ich die Worte darauf schreibe, die auf den ersten Tafeln standen, welche du zerbrochen hast. (Ex 32:19)2Und sei morgen bereit, dass du früh auf den Berg Sinai steigst und dort zu mir trittst auf dem Gipfel des Berges.3Und lass niemand mit dir hinaufsteigen; es soll auch niemand gesehen werden auf dem ganzen Berge. Auch kein Schaf und Rind lass weiden gegen diesen Berg hin. (Ex 19:12)4Und Mose hieb zwei steinerne Tafeln zu, wie die ersten waren, und stand am Morgen früh auf und stieg auf den Berg Sinai, wie ihm der HERR geboten hatte, und nahm die zwei steinernen Tafeln in seine Hand.5Da kam der HERR hernieder in einer Wolke und trat daselbst zu ihm. Und er rief aus den Namen des HERRN. (Ex 3:19)6Und der HERR ging vor seinem Angesicht vorüber, und er rief aus: HERR, HERR, Gott, barmherzig und gnädig und geduldig und von großer Gnade und Treue, (Ex 33:18; Nu 14:18; Ps 103:8; Na 1:3; 1Jo 4:16)7der da Tausenden Gnade bewahrt und vergibt Missetat, Übertretung und Sünde, aber ungestraft lässt er niemand, sondern sucht die Missetat der Väter heim an Kindern und Kindeskindern bis ins dritte und vierte Glied. (Ex 20:5; Na 1:2)8Und Mose neigte sich eilends zur Erde und betete an9und sprach: Hab ich, HERR, Gnade vor deinen Augen gefunden, so gehe der Herr in unserer Mitte, denn es ist ein halsstarriges Volk; und vergib uns unsere Missetat und Sünde und lass uns dein Erbbesitz sein. (Ex 33:3; De 32:9; Ps 28:9; Mt 6:12)10Und der HERR sprach: Siehe, ich will einen Bund schließen: Vor deinem ganzen Volk will ich Wunder tun, wie sie nicht geschaffen sind in allen Landen und unter allen Völkern, und das ganze Volk, in dessen Mitte du bist, soll des HERRN Werk sehen; denn wunderbar wird sein, was ich an dir tun werde. (Ex 19:5)11Halte, was ich dir heute gebiete. Siehe, ich will vor dir her ausstoßen die Amoriter, Kanaaniter, Hetiter, Perisiter, Hiwiter und Jebusiter.12Hüte dich, einen Bund zu schließen mit den Bewohnern des Landes, in das du kommst, damit sie dir nicht zum Fallstrick werden in deiner Mitte; (Ex 23:32)13sondern ihre Altäre sollst du umstürzen und ihre Steinmale zerbrechen und ihre heiligen Pfähle umhauen; (Ex 23:24)14denn du sollst keinen andern Gott anbeten. Denn der HERR heißt ein Eiferer; ein eifernder Gott ist er. (Ex 20:3; Ex 20:5)15Hüte dich, einen Bund zu schließen mit den Bewohnern des Landes, damit sie, wenn sie ihren Göttern nachlaufen und ihnen opfern, dich nicht einladen und du von ihrem Opfer isst16und damit du für deine Söhne ihre Töchter nicht zu Frauen nimmst und diese dann ihren Göttern nachlaufen und machen, dass deine Söhne auch ihren Göttern nachhuren! (De 7:3; Jud 3:6; 1Ki 11:2)17Du sollst dir keine gegossenen Götterbilder machen. (Ex 20:4)18Das Fest der Ungesäuerten Brote sollst du halten. Sieben Tage sollst du ungesäuertes Brot essen, wie ich dir geboten habe, zur Zeit des Monats Abib; denn im Monat Abib bist du aus Ägypten gezogen. (Ex 23:14; De 16:1)19Alle Erstgeburt ist mein, alle männliche Erstgeburt von deinem Vieh, es sei Stier oder Schaf. (Ge 4:4)20Aber den Erstling des Esels sollst du mit einem Schaf auslösen. Wenn du ihn aber nicht auslöst, so brich ihm das Genick. Alle Erstgeburt unter deinen Söhnen sollst du auslösen. Und dass niemand vor mir mit leeren Händen erscheine! (Ex 13:12)21Sechs Tage sollst du arbeiten; am siebenten Tage sollst du ruhen, auch in der Zeit des Pflügens und des Erntens.22Das Wochenfest[1] sollst du halten mit den Erstlingen der Weizenernte und das Fest der Lese, wenn das Jahr um ist. (Ex 23:16; Le 23:15; De 16:9)23Dreimal im Jahr soll alles, was männlich ist, erscheinen vor dem Herrscher, dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels.24Denn ich werde die Völker vor dir ausstoßen und dein Gebiet weit machen, und niemand soll dein Land begehren, während du dreimal im Jahr hinaufgehst, um vor dem HERRN, deinem Gott, zu erscheinen.25Du sollst das Blut meines Opfers nicht darbringen zugleich mit dem Sauerteig, und das Opfer des Passafestes soll nicht über Nacht bleiben bis zum Morgen.26Das Beste von den ersten Früchten deines Ackers sollst du in das Haus des HERRN, deines Gottes, bringen. Du sollst das Böcklein nicht kochen in seiner Mutter Milch. (Ex 23:19)27Und der HERR sprach zu Mose: Schreib dir diese Worte auf; denn aufgrund dieser Worte schließe ich mit dir einen Bund und mit Israel. (Ex 24:4)28Und er war allda bei dem HERRN vierzig Tage und vierzig Nächte und aß kein Brot und trank kein Wasser. Und er schrieb auf die Tafeln die Worte des Bundes, die Zehn Worte. (Ex 24:18; Ex 31:18; Mt 4:2)
Der Glanz auf Moses Angesicht
29Als nun Mose vom Berge Sinai herabstieg, hatte er die zwei Tafeln des Gesetzes in seiner Hand und wusste nicht, dass die Haut seines Angesichts glänzte, weil er mit Gott geredet hatte.30Als aber Aaron und alle Israeliten sahen, dass die Haut seines Angesichts glänzte, fürchteten sie sich, ihm zu nahen. (2Co 3:7)31Da rief sie Mose, und sie wandten sich wieder zu ihm, Aaron und alle Obersten der Gemeinde, und er redete mit ihnen.32Danach nahten sich ihm auch alle Israeliten. Und er gebot ihnen alles, was der HERR mit ihm geredet hatte auf dem Berge Sinai.33Und als er dies alles mit ihnen geredet hatte, legte er eine Decke auf sein Angesicht.34Und wenn er hineinging vor den HERRN, mit ihm zu reden, tat er die Decke ab, bis er wieder herausging. Und wenn er herauskam und zu den Israeliten redete, was ihm geboten war, (Ex 33:8)35sahen die Israeliten, wie die Haut seines Angesichts glänzte. Dann tat er die Decke auf sein Angesicht, bis er wieder hineinging, mit ihm zu reden.
1L'Eternel dit à Moïse: «Taille deux tables de pierre pareilles aux premières, et j'y écrirai les paroles qui étaient gravées sur les premières tables que tu as brisées.2Sois prêt de bonne heure. Tu graviras dès le matin le mont Sinaï et tu t'y tiendras devant moi, au sommet de la montagne.3Que personne ne monte avec toi et qu'on ne voie personne sur toute la montagne. Que pas même le petit et le gros bétail ne broutent près de cette montagne.»4Moïse tailla deux tables de pierre pareilles aux premières. Il se leva de bon matin et gravit le mont Sinaï, conformément à l'ordre que l'Eternel lui avait donné. Il prit avec lui les deux tables de pierre.5L'Eternel descendit dans une nuée, se tint là près de lui et proclama le nom de l'Eternel.6L'Eternel passa devant lui et s'écria: «L'Eternel, l'Eternel est un Dieu de grâce et de compassion, lent à la colère, riche en bonté et en vérité[1]. (Ps 86:15)7Il garde son amour jusqu'à 1000 générations, il pardonne la faute, la révolte et le péché, mais il ne traite pas le coupable en innocent et il punit la faute des pères sur les enfants et les petits-enfants jusqu'à la troisième et à la quatrième génération!»8Aussitôt Moïse s'inclina jusqu'à terre et adora.9Il dit: «Seigneur, si j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, que le Seigneur marche au milieu de nous, même si c'est un peuple réfractaire. Pardonne nos fautes et nos péchés et prends-nous pour ta possession.»10L'Eternel répondit: «Voici, je conclus moi-même une alliance. Je vais accomplir devant tout ton peuple des merveilles qui ne se sont produites dans aucun pays ni chez aucune nation. Tout le peuple qui t'entoure verra l'œuvre de l'Eternel, et ce que j'accomplirai par toi inspirera de la crainte.11Respecte bien les commandements que je te donne aujourd'hui. Je chasserai devant toi les Amoréens, les Cananéens, les Hittites, les Phéréziens, les Héviens et les Jébusiens.12Prends bien garde de ne pas faire alliance avec les habitants du pays où tu dois entrer, de peur qu'ils ne soient un piège pour toi.13Au contraire, vous démolirez leurs autels, vous briserez leurs statues et vous abattrez leurs poteaux sacrés.14Tu ne te prosterneras pas devant un autre dieu, car l'Eternel porte le nom de jaloux, il est un Dieu jaloux.15Prends bien garde de ne pas faire alliance avec les habitants du pays: ils risqueraient de t'inviter lorsqu'ils se prostituent à leurs dieux et leur offrent des sacrifices, et tu mangerais des victimes qu'ils ont sacrifiées;16tu prendrais de leurs filles pour tes fils et celles-ci, en se prostituant à leurs dieux, entraîneraient tes fils à se prostituer à leurs dieux.17Tu ne te feras pas de dieu en métal fondu.18»Tu observeras la fête des pains sans levain. Pendant 7 jours, au moment fixé du mois des épis, tu mangeras des pains sans levain, comme je t'en ai donné l'ordre. En effet, c'est au cours du mois des épis que tu es sorti d'Egypte.19»Tout premier-né m'appartient, même tout mâle premier-né dans les troupeaux de gros et de petit bétail.20Tu rachèteras le premier-né de l'âne avec un agneau. Si tu ne le rachètes pas, tu lui briseras la nuque. Tu rachèteras tout premier-né de tes fils. On ne se présentera pas les mains vides devant moi.21»Pendant 6 jours tu travailleras, et tu te reposeras le septième jour; tu te reposeras, même à l'époque du labour et de la moisson.22»Tu célébreras la fête des semaines au moment des premières moissons de blé, et la fête de la récolte à la fin de l'année.23»Trois fois par an, tous les hommes se présenteront devant le Seigneur, l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël.24En effet, je chasserai les nations devant toi et j'agrandirai ton territoire, et personne ne cherchera à s'emparer de ton pays pendant que tu monteras te présenter devant l'Eternel, ton Dieu, trois fois par an.25»Tu n'offriras pas sur du pain levé le sang de la victime sacrifiée en mon honneur et l'on ne gardera pas le sacrifice de la Pâque pendant la nuit jusqu'au matin.26»Tu apporteras à la maison de l'Eternel, ton Dieu, les tout premiers produits de ton sol. Tu ne feras pas cuire un chevreau dans le lait de sa mère.»27L'Eternel dit à Moïse: «Ecris ces paroles, car c'est sur cette base que je conclus une alliance avec toi et avec Israël.»28Moïse resta là avec l'Eternel 40 jours et 40 nuits. Il ne mangea pas de pain et ne but pas d'eau. Et l'Eternel écrivit sur les tables les paroles de l'alliance, les dix paroles.29Moïse descendit du mont Sinaï, les deux tables du témoignage à la main. Il ne savait pas que la peau de son visage rayonnait parce qu'il avait parlé avec l'Eternel.30Aaron et tous les Israélites regardèrent Moïse et virent que la peau de son visage rayonnait; ils eurent alors peur de s'approcher de lui.31Moïse les appela. Aaron et tous les chefs de l'assemblée vinrent vers lui et il leur parla.32Après cela, tous les Israélites s'approchèrent et il leur donna tous les ordres qu'il avait reçus de l'Eternel sur le mont Sinaï.33Lorsque Moïse eut fini de leur parler, il mit un voile sur son visage.34Quand Moïse entrait dans la présence de l'Eternel pour parler avec lui, il retirait le voile jusqu'au moment où il ressortait; et quand il sortait, il transmettait aux Israélites les commandements qu'il avait reçus.35Les Israélites regardaient le visage de Moïse et voyaient que la peau de son visage rayonnait; et Moïse remettait le voile sur son visage jusqu'au moment où il entrait pour parler avec l'Eternel.
