1“Now this is the commandment—the statutes and the rules[1]—that the Lord your God commanded me to teach you, that you may do them in the land to which you are going over, to possess it, (De 4:1; De 5:31; De 12:1)2that you may fear the Lord your God, you and your son and your son’s son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, all the days of your life, and that your days may be long. (Ex 17:2; De 9:22; De 33:8; Ps 95:8; Mt 4:7; Lu 4:12; 1Co 10:9)17You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies and his statutes, which he has commanded you. (De 11:22; Ps 119:4)18And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may go well with you, and that you may go in and take possession of the good land that the Lord swore to give to your fathers (De 12:25)19by thrusting out all your enemies from before you, as the Lord has promised. (Ex 23:28; Nu 33:52)20“When your son asks you in time to come, ‘What is the meaning of the testimonies and the statutes and the rules that the Lord our God has commanded you?’ (Ex 12:26; Ex 13:14)21then you shall say to your son, ‘We were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt. And the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand. (Ex 20:2)22And the Lord showed signs and wonders, great and grievous, against Egypt and against Pharaoh and all his household, before our eyes. (De 4:34; Ps 135:9)23And he brought us out from there, that he might bring us in and give us the land that he swore to give to our fathers.24And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as we are this day. (Le 18:5; De 4:1; De 6:2; De 6:13; De 8:1; De 10:13; Ps 41:2; Jer 32:39)25And it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to do all this commandment before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us.’ (De 24:13)
Ermahnung zur Liebe und zum Gehorsam gegen den Herrn
1Dies sind die Gesetze und Gebote und Rechte, die der HERR, euer Gott, geboten hat, euch zu lehren, dass ihr sie tun sollt in dem Lande, in das ihr zieht, es einzunehmen,2damit du dein Leben lang den HERRN, deinen Gott, fürchtest und alle seine Rechte und Gebote hältst, die ich dir gebiete, du und deine Kinder und deine Kindeskinder, auf dass du lange lebest.3Israel, du sollst es hören und festhalten, dass du es tust, auf dass dir’s wohlgehe und du groß an Zahl werdest, wie der HERR, der Gott deiner Väter, dir zugesagt hat, in dem Lande, darin Milch und Honig fließt. (Lu 11:28)4Höre, Israel, der HERR ist unser Gott, der HERR ist einer. (Mr 12:29; 1Co 8:4; 1Co 8:6)5Und du sollst den HERRN, deinen Gott, lieb haben von ganzem Herzen, von ganzer Seele und mit all deiner Kraft. (De 10:12; 2Ki 23:25; Mt 22:37)6Und diese Worte, die ich dir heute gebiete, sollst du zu Herzen nehmen (De 11:18)7und sollst sie deinen Kindern einschärfen und davon reden, wenn du in deinem Hause sitzt oder unterwegs bist, wenn du dich niederlegst oder aufstehst. (Ge 18:19)8Und du sollst sie binden zum Zeichen auf deine Hand, und sie sollen dir ein Merkzeichen zwischen deinen Augen sein, (Ex 13:9; Mt 23:5)9und du sollst sie schreiben auf die Pfosten deines Hauses und an die Tore.10Wenn dich nun der HERR, dein Gott, in das Land bringen wird, von dem er deinen Vätern Abraham, Isaak und Jakob geschworen hat, es dir zu geben – große und schöne Städte, die du nicht gebaut hast,11und Häuser voller Güter, die du nicht gefüllt hast, und ausgehauene Brunnen, die du nicht ausgehauen hast, und Weinberge und Ölbäume, die du nicht gepflanzt hast –, und wenn du nun isst und satt wirst, (De 8:10)12so hüte dich, dass du nicht den HERRN vergisst, der dich aus Ägyptenland, aus der Knechtschaft, geführt hat,13sondern du sollst den HERRN, deinen Gott, fürchten und ihm dienen und bei seinem Namen schwören. (De 10:20; Mt 4:10)14Und ihr sollt nicht andern Göttern nachfolgen, den Göttern der Völker, die um euch her sind –15denn der HERR, dein Gott, ist ein eifernder Gott in deiner Mitte –, dass nicht der Zorn des HERRN, deines Gottes, über dich entbrenne und dich vertilge von der Erde. (Ex 20:5)16Ihr sollt den HERRN, euren Gott, nicht versuchen, wie ihr ihn versucht habt in Massa, (Ex 17:2; Ex 17:7; Mt 4:7)17sondern sollt halten die Gebote des HERRN, eures Gottes, seine Vermahnungen und seine Rechte, die er dir geboten hat,18dass du tust, was recht und gut ist vor den Augen des HERRN, auf dass dir’s wohlgehe und du hineinkommest und einnehmest das gute Land, von dem der HERR deinen Vätern geschworen hat,19dass er verjagen wolle alle deine Feinde vor dir, wie der HERR es zugesagt hat. (Ex 23:27)20Wenn dich nun dein Sohn morgen fragen wird: Was sind das für Vermahnungen, Gebote und Rechte, die euch der HERR, unser Gott, geboten hat?, (Ex 13:14)21so sollst du deinem Sohn sagen: Wir waren Knechte des Pharao in Ägypten, und der HERR führte uns aus Ägypten mit mächtiger Hand; (Ps 44:2)22und der HERR tat große und furchtbare Zeichen und Wunder an Ägypten und am Pharao und an seinem ganzen Hause vor unsern Augen23und führte uns von dort weg, um uns hineinzubringen und uns das Land zu geben, wie er unsern Vätern geschworen hatte.24Und der HERR hat uns geboten, nach all diesen Rechten zu tun, dass wir den HERRN, unsern Gott, fürchten, auf dass es uns wohlgehe allezeit und er uns am Leben erhalte, so wie es heute ist. (Ga 3:21)25Und das wird unsere Gerechtigkeit sein, dass wir alle diese Gebote tun und halten vor dem HERRN, unserm Gott, wie er uns geboten hat. (De 9:5; Ro 2:13; Ro 2:19)
1»Voici les commandements, les prescriptions et les règles que l'Eternel, votre Dieu, a ordonné de vous enseigner afin que vous les mettiez en pratique dans le pays dont vous allez prendre possession,2afin que tu craignes l'Eternel, ton Dieu, en respectant tous les jours de ta vie, toi, ainsi que ton fils et ton petit-fils, toutes ses prescriptions et tous ses commandements que je te donne, et afin que tu vives longtemps.3Tu les écouteras donc, Israël, et tu veilleras à les mettre en pratique afin d'être heureux et de devenir très nombreux, comme te l'a dit l'Eternel, le Dieu de tes ancêtres, en te promettant un pays où coulent le lait et le miel.4» Ecoute, Israël! L'Eternel, notre Dieu, est le seul Eternel.[1]5» Tu aimeras l'Eternel, ton Dieu, de tout ton cœur, de toute ton âme et de toute ta force.[2] (Le 19:18; De 10:12; De 30:6; Mt 22:37; Mr 12:30; Mr 12:33; Lu 10:27)6Les commandements que je te donne aujourd'hui seront dans ton cœur.7Tu les répéteras à tes enfants; tu en parleras quand tu seras chez toi, quand tu seras en voyage, quand tu te coucheras et quand tu te lèveras.8Tu les attacheras à tes mains comme un signe et ils seront comme une marque entre tes yeux.9Tu les écriras sur les montants de la porte de ta maison et sur les portes de tes villes.10»L'Eternel, ton Dieu, va te faire entrer dans le pays qu'il a juré à tes ancêtres, à Abraham, Isaac et Jacob, de te donner. Tu posséderas de grandes et bonnes villes que tu n'as pas construites,11des maisons pleines de toutes sortes de biens et que tu n'as pas remplies, des citernes que tu n'as pas creusées, des vignes et des oliviers que tu n'as pas plantés.12Lorsque tu mangeras à satiété, fais bien attention de ne pas oublier l'Eternel, qui t'a fait sortir d'Egypte, de la maison d'esclavage.13C'est l'Eternel, ton Dieu, que tu craindras, c'est lui que tu serviras[3] et c'est par son nom que tu prêteras serment. (Mt 4:10; Lu 4:8)14Vous ne suivrez pas d'autres dieux, pris parmi les dieux des peuples qui sont autour de vous,15car l'Eternel, ton Dieu, est un Dieu jaloux au milieu de toi. La colère de l'Eternel, ton Dieu, s'enflammerait contre toi et il t'exterminerait de la surface de la terre.16Vous ne provoquerez pas l'Eternel, votre Dieu,[4] comme vous l'avez fait à Massa.17Vous respecterez les commandements de l'Eternel, votre Dieu, ses instructions et ses prescriptions qu'il vous a données.18Tu feras ce qui est droit et ce qui est bien aux yeux de l'Eternel, afin d'être heureux et d'entrer en possession du bon pays que l'Eternel a juré à tes ancêtres de te donner19après avoir chassé tous tes ennemis devant toi, comme il l'a dit.20Lorsque ton fils te demandera un jour: ‘Que signifient les instructions, les prescriptions et les règles que l'Eternel, notre Dieu, vous a données?’21tu lui diras: ‘Nous étions esclaves du pharaon en Egypte et l'Eternel nous a fait sortir de l'Egypte par sa main puissante.22L'Eternel a accompli sous nos yeux de grands miracles et prodiges, porteurs de malheur pour l'Egypte, pour le pharaon et pour toute sa maison.23Il nous a fait sortir de là pour nous amener dans le pays qu'il avait juré à nos ancêtres de nous donner.24L'Eternel nous a ordonné de mettre toutes ces prescriptions en pratique et de craindre l'Eternel, notre Dieu, afin que nous soyons toujours heureux et qu'il nous conserve la vie, comme il le fait aujourd'hui.25Nous aurons droit à la justice lorsque nous veillerons à mettre en pratique tous ces commandements devant l'Eternel, notre Dieu, comme il nous l'a ordonné.’
