1A Maskil[1] of Asaph. Give ear, O my people, to my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth! (Ps 49:1; Ps 50:1; Ps 50:7; Isa 51:4)2I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old, (Nu 21:27; Ps 49:4; Mt 13:35)3things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us. (Ps 44:1)4We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done. (Ex 12:26; Ex 13:8; Ex 13:14; De 11:19; Jos 4:6; Job 15:18; Ps 78:11; Ps 78:32; Joe 1:3)5He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, (Ps 19:7; Ps 81:5; Ps 147:19)6that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, (Ps 78:4; Ps 102:18)7so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments; (Ps 77:12; Ps 105:45)8and that they should not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation whose heart was not steadfast, whose spirit was not faithful to God. (Ex 32:9; Ex 33:3; De 9:7; De 9:24; De 31:27; 2Ki 17:14; 2Ch 30:7; Job 11:13; Ps 78:37; Jer 5:23; Eze 20:18)9The Ephraimites, armed with[2] the bow, turned back on the day of battle. (Ps 78:57)10They did not keep God’s covenant, but refused to walk according to his law. (2Ki 17:15)11They forgot his works and the wonders that he had shown them. (Ps 78:4; Ps 106:13)12In the sight of their fathers he performed wonders in the land of Egypt, in the fields of Zoan. (Nu 13:22; Ps 72:18; Ps 78:43; Isa 19:11; Isa 19:13; Eze 30:14)13He divided the sea and let them pass through it, and made the waters stand like a heap. (Ex 14:21; Ex 15:8; Ps 136:13)14In the daytime he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a fiery light. (Ps 105:39)15He split rocks in the wilderness and gave them drink abundantly as from the deep. (Ex 17:6; Ps 78:20; Ps 105:41; Ps 114:8; Isa 48:21)16He made streams come out of the rock and caused waters to flow down like rivers. (Nu 20:8; Nu 20:10)17Yet they sinned still more against him, rebelling against the Most High in the desert. (De 9:22; Ps 78:40; Ps 78:56; Isa 63:10)18They tested God in their heart by demanding the food they craved. (De 6:16; Ps 78:41; Ps 78:56; Ps 95:9; Ps 106:14; 1Co 10:9)19They spoke against God, saying, “Can God spread a table in the wilderness? (Ex 16:3; Nu 11:4; Nu 20:3; Nu 21:5; Ps 23:5)20He struck the rock so that water gushed out and streams overflowed. Can he also give bread or provide meat for his people?” (Ps 78:15)21Therefore, when the Lord heard, he was full of wrath; a fire was kindled against Jacob; his anger rose against Israel, (Nu 11:1)22because they did not believe in God and did not trust his saving power. (Ps 78:8; Ps 78:32; Ps 78:37)23Yet he commanded the skies above and opened the doors of heaven, (Ge 7:11; Mal 3:10)24and he rained down on them manna to eat and gave them the grain of heaven. (Ex 16:4; Ps 105:40; Joh 6:31)25Man ate of the bread of the angels; he sent them food in abundance. (Ps 78:29; Ps 103:20)26He caused the east wind to blow in the heavens, and by his power he led out the south wind; (Nu 11:31)27he rained meat on them like dust, winged birds like the sand of the seas; (Ge 13:16; Ge 22:17)28he let them fall in the midst of their camp, all around their dwellings. (Ex 16:13; Nu 11:31)29And they ate and were well filled, for he gave them what they craved. (Nu 11:4; Nu 11:19; Nu 11:34)30But before they had satisfied their craving, while the food was still in their mouths, (Nu 11:33; Job 20:23)31the anger of God rose against them, and he killed the strongest of them and laid low the young men of Israel. (Ps 78:63; Isa 10:16)32In spite of all this, they still sinned; despite his wonders, they did not believe. (Nu 14:11; Ps 78:22)33So he made their days vanish like[3] a breath,[4] and their years in terror. (Nu 14:29; Nu 14:35; Nu 26:64; Ps 39:5)34When he killed them, they sought him; they repented and sought God earnestly. (Ho 5:15)35They remembered that God was their rock, the Most High God their redeemer. (Ex 15:13; De 32:4; De 32:15; De 32:31; Ps 74:2)36But they flattered him with their mouths; they lied to him with their tongues. (Isa 29:13; Isa 57:11; Eze 33:31)37Their heart was not steadfast toward him; they were not faithful to his covenant. (Ps 51:10; Ps 78:8)38Yet he, being compassionate, atoned for their iniquity and did not destroy them; he restrained his anger often and did not stir up all his wrath. (Ex 34:6; Nu 14:20)39He remembered that they were but flesh, a wind that passes and comes not again. (Ge 6:3; Job 7:7; Job 10:9; Ps 103:14)40How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness and grieved him in the desert! (Ps 78:17; Ps 78:56; Ps 106:14; Ps 107:11; Eph 4:30)41They tested God again and again and provoked the Holy One of Israel. (Ps 71:22; Ps 78:18)42They did not remember his power[5] or the day when he redeemed them from the foe, (Jud 8:34)43when he performed his signs in Egypt and his marvels in the fields of Zoan. (Ex 4:21; Ex 7:3; Ex 11:9; Ps 78:12; Ps 105:27; Ps 106:22; Ac 7:36)44He turned their rivers to blood, so that they could not drink of their streams. (Ex 7:17)45He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them, and frogs, which destroyed them. (Ex 8:2; Ex 8:21)46He gave their crops to the destroying locust and the fruit of their labor to the locust. (Ex 10:12)47He destroyed their vines with hail and their sycamores with frost. (Ex 9:23)48He gave over their cattle to the hail and their flocks to thunderbolts. (Ex 9:19)49He let loose on them his burning anger, wrath, indignation, and distress, a company of destroying angels. (Ex 12:13; Ex 12:23; 2Sa 24:16)50He made a path for his anger; he did not spare them from death, but gave their lives over to the plague.51He struck down every firstborn in Egypt, the firstfruits of their strength in the tents of Ham. (Ex 12:29; Ps 105:23; Ps 105:27; Ps 105:36; Ps 106:22; Ps 135:8; Ps 136:10)52Then he led out his people like sheep and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. (Ps 77:20)53He led them in safety, so that they were not afraid, but the sea overwhelmed their enemies. (Ex 14:13; Ex 14:19; Ex 14:27; Ex 15:10)54And he brought them to his holy land, to the mountain which his right hand had won. (Ex 15:17; Ps 68:16; Ps 74:2; Isa 11:9; Isa 57:13)55He drove out nations before them; he apportioned them for a possession and settled the tribes of Israel in their tents. (Jos 23:4; Ps 44:2; Ps 135:12; Ps 136:21; Ac 13:19)56Yet they tested and rebelled against the Most High God and did not keep his testimonies, (Jud 2:11; Ps 78:18; Ps 78:40)57but turned away and acted treacherously like their fathers; they twisted like a deceitful bow. (Ps 78:9; Ho 7:16)58For they provoked him to anger with their high places; they moved him to jealousy with their idols. (Le 26:30; Nu 25:11; De 7:5; De 7:25; De 12:2; De 12:3; De 31:29; De 32:16; De 32:21; Jud 2:12; 1Ki 11:7; 1Ki 12:31; Eze 20:28)59When God heard, he was full of wrath, and he utterly rejected Israel. (De 3:26; Ps 78:62; Ps 106:40)60He forsook his dwelling at Shiloh, the tent where he dwelt among mankind, (Jos 18:1; 1Sa 4:11; Jer 7:12; Jer 7:14; Jer 26:6)61and delivered his power to captivity, his glory to the hand of the foe. (1Sa 4:21; Ps 63:2; Ps 96:6; Ps 132:8)62He gave his people over to the sword and vented his wrath on his heritage. (1Sa 4:10; Ps 78:59)63Fire devoured their young men, and their young women had no marriage song. (Ps 79:5; Ps 89:46; Jer 7:34)64Their priests fell by the sword, and their widows made no lamentation. (1Sa 4:11; Job 27:15)65Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, like a strong man shouting because of wine. (Ps 35:23; Ps 73:20)66And he put his adversaries to rout; he put them to everlasting shame. (Ps 40:14)67He rejected the tent of Joseph; he did not choose the tribe of Ephraim, (Ps 80:1; Ps 81:5)68but he chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loves. (Ps 87:2)69He built his sanctuary like the high heavens, like the earth, which he has founded forever.70He chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds; (1Sa 16:12)71from following the nursing ewes he brought him to shepherd Jacob his people, Israel his inheritance. (1Sa 10:1; 2Sa 5:2; 2Sa 7:8; Ps 28:9)72With upright heart he shepherded them and guided them with his skillful hand. (1Ki 9:4; Ps 77:20; Ps 101:2)
1Eine Unterweisung Asafs. Höre, mein Volk, meine Unterweisung, neiget eure Ohren zu der Rede meines Mundes! (Ps 106:1)2Ich will meinen Mund auftun zu einem Spruch und Geschichten verkünden aus alter Zeit. (Mt 13:35)3Was wir gehört haben und wissen und unsre Väter uns erzählt haben, (Ex 13:14; De 4:9)4das wollen wir nicht verschweigen ihren Kindern; wir verkündigen dem kommenden Geschlecht den Ruhm des HERRN und seine Macht und seine Wunder, die er getan hat.5Er richtete ein Zeugnis auf in Jakob und gab ein Gesetz in Israel und gebot unsern Vätern, es ihre Kinder zu lehren,6auf dass es die Nachkommen lernten, die Kinder, die noch geboren würden; die sollten aufstehen und es auch ihren Kindern verkündigen,7dass sie setzten auf Gott ihre Hoffnung / und nicht vergäßen die Taten Gottes, sondern seine Gebote hielten8und nicht würden wie ihre Väter, ein abtrünniges und ungehorsames Geschlecht, dessen Herz nicht fest war und dessen Geist sich nicht treu an Gott hielt, (De 32:5)9wie die Söhne Ephraim, wohl gerüstete Bogenschützen, abfielen zur Zeit des Streits; (Jud 2:11)10sie hielten den Bund Gottes nicht und wollten nicht in seinem Gesetz wandeln11und vergaßen seine Taten und seine Wunder, die er sie hatte sehen lassen.12Vor ihren Vätern tat er Wunder in Ägyptenland, im Gefilde von Zoan.13Er zerteilte das Meer und führte sie hindurch und ließ das Wasser stehen wie eine Mauer. (Ex 14:21)14Er leitete sie bei Tage mit einer Wolke und die ganze Nacht mit einem hellen Feuer. (Ex 13:21)15Er spaltete die Felsen in der Wüste und tränkte sie reichlich wie mit Fluten; (Ex 17:6; Nu 20:7; De 32:18)16er ließ Bäche aus den Felsen hervorbrechen und Wasser hinabfließen wie Ströme.17Dennoch sündigten sie weiter wider ihn und empörten sich in der Wüste gegen den Höchsten;18sie versuchten Gott in ihrem Herzen, als sie Speise forderten für ihre Seelen, (Ex 16:3; Nu 11:4)19und redeten wider Gott und sprachen: Kann Gott wohl einen Tisch bereiten in der Wüste? (Ps 23:5)20Siehe, er hat wohl den Felsen geschlagen, dass Wasser strömten und Bäche sich ergossen; kann er aber auch Brot geben und seinem Volk Fleisch verschaffen?21Da das der HERR hörte, entbrannte er im Grimm, und Feuer brach aus in Jakob, und Zorn kam über Israel, (Nu 11:1)22weil sie nicht glaubten an Gott und nicht hofften auf seine Hilfe.23Und er gebot den Wolken droben und tat auf die Türen des Himmels24und ließ Manna auf sie regnen zur Speise und gab ihnen Himmelsbrot. (Ex 16:4; Ex 16:14)25Brot der Engel aßen sie alle, er sandte ihnen Speise in Fülle.26Er ließ wehen den Ostwind unter dem Himmel und erregte durch seine Stärke den Südwind (Nu 11:31)27und ließ Fleisch auf sie regnen wie Staub und Vögel wie Sand am Meer;28mitten in sein Lager ließ er sie fallen, rings um seine Wohnung her.29Da aßen sie und wurden sehr satt; und was sie verlangten, gewährte er ihnen.30Sie hatten ihr Verlangen noch nicht gestillt, ihre Speise war noch in ihrem Munde,31da kam der Zorn Gottes über sie / und brachte ihre Vornehmsten um und schlug nieder die Besten in Israel.32Bei dem allen sündigten sie noch mehr und glaubten nicht an seine Wunder.33Darum ließ er ihre Tage dahinschwinden ins Nichts und ihre Jahre in Schrecken. (Nu 14:22; 1Co 10:5)34Wenn er den Tod unter sie brachte, suchten sie ihn und fragten wieder nach Gott35und dachten daran, dass Gott ihr Hort ist und Gott, der Höchste, ihr Erlöser.36Doch sie betrogen ihn mit ihrem Munde und belogen ihn mit ihrer Zunge.37Ihr Herz hing nicht fest an ihm, und sie hielten nicht treu an seinem Bunde.38Er aber war barmherzig und vergab die Schuld und vertilgte sie nicht und wandte oft seinen Zorn ab und ließ nicht seinen ganzen Grimm an ihnen aus.39Denn er dachte daran, dass sie Fleisch sind, ein Hauch, der dahinfährt und nicht wiederkommt. (Ps 103:14)40Wie oft trotzten sie ihm in der Wüste und betrübten ihn in der Einöde!41Sie versuchten Gott immer wieder und kränkten den Heiligen Israels.42Sie dachten nicht an seine Hand, an den Tag, da er sie erlöste von den Feinden,43wie er seine Zeichen in Ägypten getan hatte und seine Wunder im Lande Zoan.44Er verwandelte ihre Ströme in Blut, dass sie aus ihren Flüssen nicht trinken konnten. (Ex 7:19)45Er schickte Ungeziefer unter sie, das sie fraß, und Frösche, die ihnen Verderben brachten, (Ex 8:2; Ex 8:20)46und gab ihr Gewächs den Raupen und ihre Saat den Heuschrecken. (Ex 10:13)47Er schlug ihre Weinstöcke mit Hagel und ihre Maulbeerbäume mit Schloßen. (Ex 9:25)48Er gab ihr Vieh dem Hagel preis und ihre Herden dem Wetterstrahl.49Er sandte die Glut seines Zorns unter sie, Grimm und Wut und Drangsal, eine Schar Verderben bringender Engel.50Er ließ seinem Zorn freien Lauf / und bewahrte ihre Seele nicht vor dem Tode und gab ihr Leben der Pest preis. (Ex 9:8)51Er schlug alle Erstgeburt in Ägypten, die Erstlinge ihrer Kraft in den Zelten Hams. (Ex 12:29)52Er ließ sein Volk ausziehen wie Schafe und führte sie wie eine Herde in der Wüste; (Ps 77:21)53und er leitete sie sicher, / dass sie sich nicht fürchteten; aber ihre Feinde bedeckte das Meer. (Ex 14:27)54Er brachte sie in sein heiliges Land, zu dem Berg, den seine Rechte erworben hat, (Ex 15:17)55und vertrieb vor ihnen her die Völker / und verteilte ihr Land als Erbe und ließ in ihren Zelten die Stämme Israels wohnen.56Aber sie versuchten Gott und trotzten dem Höchsten und hielten seine Gebote nicht;57sie fielen ab und waren treulos wie ihre Väter und versagten wie ein schlaffer Bogen;58sie erzürnten ihn mit ihren Höhen und reizten ihn zum Zorn mit ihren Götzen. (De 32:21)59Da Gott das hörte, entbrannte sein Grimm, und er verwarf Israel ganz.60Er gab seine Wohnung in Silo dahin, das Zelt, in dem er unter Menschen wohnte. (1Sa 1:3; Jer 7:12)61Er gab seine Macht in Gefangenschaft und seine Herrlichkeit in die Hand des Feindes.[1] (1Sa 4:22; Ps 132:8)62Er übergab sein Volk dem Schwert und ergrimmte über sein Erbe.63Ihre junge Mannschaft fraß das Feuer, und ihre Jungfrauen mussten ungefreit bleiben.64Ihre Priester fielen durchs Schwert, und die Witwen konnten die Toten nicht beweinen. (1Sa 4:17)65Da erwachte der Herr wie aus dem Schlaf, wie ein Starker, der vom Wein fröhlich ist,66und schlug seine Feinde zurück und hängte ihnen ewige Schande an. (1Sa 5:6)67Er verwarf das Zelt Josefs und erwählte nicht den Stamm Ephraim,68sondern erwählte den Stamm Juda, den Berg Zion, den er liebt. Nous redirons à la génération suivante, ╵les œuvres glorieuses de l’Eternel, les puissants actes ╵et les prodiges qu’il a accomplis.5Il a fixé une règle en Jacob, établi une loi en Israël, et il a ordonné à nos ancêtres ╵d’enseigner tout cela à leurs enfants,6afin que la génération suivante ╵puisse l’apprendre et que les enfants qui viendront à naître, se lèvent à leur tour ╵pour l’enseigner à leurs propres enfants,7afin qu’ils placent leur confiance en Dieu, qu’ils n’oublient pas comment Dieu a agi et qu’ils observent ses commandements,8qu’ils ne ressemblent pas à leurs ancêtres, génération indocile et rebelle, génération au cœur trop inconstant, dont l’esprit n’était pas fidèle à Dieu.9Les hommes d’Ephraïm, armés de l’arc, ont tourné le dos, au jour du combat.10Ils n’ont pas respecté ╵l’alliance de Dieu, ils ont refusé de suivre sa Loi[4]. (Jud 1:29; Jud 2:2; Jud 8:1; Jud 9:1; Jud 12:2)11Ils ont oublié ses exploits et les hauts faits opérés sous leurs yeux.12Devant leurs pères, Dieu avait fait des prodiges aux champs de Tsoân[5], au pays d’Egypte. (Nu 13:22)13Il a fendu la mer, et il les a fait traverser, il a dressé les eaux tout comme un mur[6]. (Ex 14:1)14Il les guidait, le jour par la nuée, et la nuit, par la lumière d’un feu[7]. (Ex 13:21)15Il a fendu des rochers au désert, et les a abreuvés de torrents d’eau[8]. (Ex 17:1; Nu 20:2)16Du roc, il a fait jaillir des rivières, il en a fait sortir l’eau comme un fleuve.17Mais ils péchaient contre lui sans arrêt, ils bravaient le Très-Haut dans le désert[9]. (Ex 15:24)18Dans leur cœur, ils ont mis Dieu au défi en réclamant à manger à leur goût[10]. (Ex 16:2; Nu 11:4; Nu 11:31)19Ils ont tenu des propos contre lui, disant: « Dieu pourrait-il dresser une table dans le désert[11]? » (Nu 21:5)20C’est ainsi qu’il a frappé le rocher, l’eau a coulé, des torrents ont jailli. « Pourrait-il aussi nous donner du pain ou procurer de la viande à son peuple? »21L’Eternel entendit, il s’emporta, et un feu s’alluma contre Jacob: sa colère éclata contre Israël,22car ils n’avaient pas fait confiance à Dieu, ils n’avaient pas compté sur son secours.23Il donna ordre aux nuages d’en haut et il ouvrit les écluses du ciel.24Pour les nourrir, il fit pleuvoir sur eux la manne et il leur donna le froment du ciel.25Chacun mangea de ce pain des puissants[12], Dieu leur fournit à satiété des vivres.26Il fit souffler le vent d’est dans le ciel, et par sa force, il fit venir le vent du sud.27Il fit pleuvoir de la viande sur eux, ╵aussi abondante que la poussière. Il fit tomber une nuée d’oiseaux ╵aussi nombreux que le sable des mers.28Il les fit tomber au milieu du camp, autour du lieu où se dressaient leurs tentes.29Ils en mangèrent jusqu’à satiété. Dieu leur avait servi ce qu’ils voulaient.30Mais leur envie n’était pas assouvie, ils avaient encore la viande à la bouche31que la colère de Dieu éclata contre eux. Alors il frappa les plus vigoureux, abattant les jeunes gens d’Israël.32Malgré cela, ils ont péché encore, ils n’ont pas eu foi, malgré ses prodiges[13]. (Nu 14:1)33Il fit s’évanouir leurs jours ╵de façon lamentable, et terminer leurs années dans l’angoisse[14]. (Nu 14:22; Nu 14:28)34Dieu les frappait, ils se tournaient vers lui, ils revenaient à lui, ╵en le suppliant instamment,35se souvenant qu’il était leur rocher, que le Dieu très-haut était leur libérateur.36Mais s’ils priaient, c’était pour le tromper: les propos qu’ils lui tenaient n’étaient pas sincères,37car leur cœur n’était pas droit envers lui, à son alliance, ils n’étaient pas fidèles.38Lui, cependant, rempli de compassion, leur pardonnait au lieu de les détruire, et, bien souvent, détournait sa colère, ne voulant pas déchaîner toute sa fureur.39Il considérait qu’ils étaient fragiles: un souffle qui passe et ne revient plus.40Que de fois ils se sont rebellés contre lui ╵dans le désert et l’ont offensé dans les lieux arides[15]!41A nouveau, ils mettaient Dieu au défi et ils attristaient le Saint d’Israël.42Car ils oubliaient son œuvre puissante: comment il les avait sauvés de l’oppresseur,43en Egypte, il avait fait des miracles, et, au pays de Tsoân, des prodiges[16],44canaux et rivières changés en sang, nul ne pouvait plus s’y désaltérer[17], (Ex 7:14)45mouches venimeuses qui les piquaient[18], grenouilles qui causaient leur ruine[19], (Ex 7:26; Ex 8:16; Ex 9:13)46leurs récoltes livrées aux sauterelles et le fruit de leur labeur aux criquets[20], (Ex 10:1)47leurs vignes ravagées par des grêlons et leurs figuiers sous les effets du gel,48leurs troupeaux abandonnés à la grêle et leur bétail décimé par la foudre.49Il déchaîna contre eux son ardente colère, son courroux, sa fureur, et les mit en détresse, en envoyant une armée d’anges de malheur.50Il donna libre cours à sa colère, et il ne leur épargna pas la mort. Au contraire, il les livra à la peste.51Il frappa tous les fils aînés d’Egypte, les premiers fruits de leur virilité[21] ╵dans les logis de Cham[22]. (Ge 7:13; Ge 10:6; Ps 105:23; Ps 105:27; Ps 106:21)52Comme un troupeau, il fit sortir son peuple et il les conduisit dans le désert, ╵tout comme un berger conduit ses brebis[23]. (Ex 13:17)53Il les conduisit en sécurité, ╵les préservant de tout sujet de crainte, et la mer engloutit leurs ennemis[24]. (Ex 14:26)54Il les fit ensuite venir ╵sur son territoire sacré, il les conduisit jusqu’à la montagne[25] ╵qu’il s’était par lui-même acquise[26]. (Ex 15:17)55Il chassa devant eux des peuples étrangers, et il attribua à chacun par le sort, ╵une part du pays en patrimoine. Il installa les tribus d’Israël ╵dans les demeures des Cananéens.56Mais ils ont voulu forcer la main ╵au Dieu très-haut et ils se sont rebellés contre lui. Ils n’ont pas respecté ses lois[27]. (Jud 2:11)57Ils se sont dérobés ╵et se sont montrés traîtres ╵tout comme leurs ancêtres. On ne pouvait pas leur faire confiance ╵pas plus qu’à l’arc dont la flèche dévie.58Ils l’ont irrité avec leurs hauts lieux[28], par leurs idoles, ils ont provoqué ╵sa vive indignation.59Dieu l’entendit: il se mit en colère et il prit Israël en aversion.60Il délaissa sa maison de Silo[29], le tabernacle, ╵où il résidait parmi les humains. (Jos 18:1; Jos 18:8; Jos 21:1; Jud 18:31; Jud 21:12; 1Sa 1:3; 1Sa 4:3; Jer 7:12)61Il laissa partir en captivité ╵le coffre sacré, trône de sa force, et livra aux ennemis sa splendeur[30]. (1Sa 4:4)62En colère contre les siens, il abandonna son peuple à l’épée.63Le feu consuma ses adolescents, et l’on ne chanta plus l’éloge ╵de ses jeunes mariées[31]. (Isa 3:25)64Ses prêtres périrent sous les coups de l’épée, ses veuves n’eurent pas droit à des larmes[32]. (Job 27:15)65Mais, tout à coup, l’Eternel intervint, tel un dormeur sortant de sa torpeur, tel un guerrier exalté par le vin.66Il frappa ses ennemis à revers, il les couvrit d’une honte éternelle.67Il écarta la maison de Joseph[33], ne choisit pas la tribu d’Ephraïm. (Ge 48:1)68Mais il choisit la tribu de Juda, le mont Sion qu’il prit en affection.69C’est là qu’il édifia son sanctuaire ╵tels les lieux élevés comme la terre établie pour toujours.70Il a choisi son serviteur David et il l’a tiré de ses bergeries[34]. (1Sa 16:11; 1Sa 25:7; 1Ch 17:7)71Il l’a pris du milieu de ses brebis pour qu’il soit berger de Jacob, son peuple, et d’Israël qui est sa possession.72David fut pour eux un berger intègre qui les guida d’une main avisée.
