Psalm 61

1 Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; (Ps 55:1; Ps 55:2) 2 from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, (Ps 18:2; Ps 77:3) 3 for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. (Ps 14:6; Pr 18:10) 4 Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah (Ps 15:1; Ps 17:8; Ps 27:4) 5 For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name. 6 Prolong the life of the king; may his years endure to all generations! (Ps 21:4; Ps 63:11) 7 May he be enthroned forever before God; appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him! (Ps 40:11) 8 So will I ever sing praises to your name, as I perform my vows day after day. (Ps 50:14)

1 Au chef des chantres. Sur instruments à cordes. De David. 2 O Dieu! écoute mes cris, Sois attentif à ma prière! 3 Du bout de la terre je crie à toi, le coeur abattu; Conduis-moi sur le rocher que je ne puis atteindre! 4 Car tu es pour moi un refuge, Une tour forte, en face de l'ennemi. 5 Je voudrais séjourner éternellement dans ta tente, Me réfugier à l'abri de tes ailes. -Pause. 6 Car toi, ô Dieu! tu exauces mes voeux, Tu me donnes l'héritage de ceux qui craignent ton nom. 7 Ajoute des jours aux jours du roi; Que ses années se prolongent à jamais! 8 Qu'il reste sur le trône éternellement devant Dieu! Fais que ta bonté et ta fidélité veillent sur lui! 9 Alors je chanterai sans cesse ton nom, En accomplissant chaque jour mes voeux.
