How Majestic Is Your Name

1 To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith.^[1] A Psalm of David. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. (Ex 34:5; Ps 81:1; Ps 84:1; Ps 113:4; Ps 148:13; Isa 12:4)

2 Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. (Ps 44:16; Jer 16:19; Mt 11:25; Mt 21:16; 1Co 1:27)

Gottes Hoheit und die Würde des Menschen

1 Ein Lied Davids, zu begleiten auf gatitischem Instrument. 2 HERR, unser Herrscher! Groß ist dein Ruhm auf der ganzen Erde! Deine Hoheit reicht höher als der Himmel. (Ps 104:1; Isa 6:3) 3 Aus dem Lobpreis der Schwachen und Hilflosen^[1] baust du eine Mauer, an der deine Widersacher und Feinde zu Fall kommen. (Mt 21:16) 4 Ich bestaune den Himmel, das Werk deiner Hände, den Mond und alle die Sterne, die du geschaffen hast: 5 Wie klein ist da der Mensch, wie gering und unbedeutend! Und doch gibst du dich mit ihm ab und kümmerst dich um ihn! (Ge 1:26; Heb 2:6) 6 Ja, du hast ihm Macht und Würde verliehen; es fehlt nicht viel und er wäre wie du. 7 Du hast ihn zum Herrscher gemacht über deine Geschöpfe, alles hast du ihm unterstellt: 8 die Schafe, Ziegen und Rinder, die Wildtiere in Feld und Wald, 9 die Vögel in der Luft und die Fische im Wasser, die kleinen und die großen, alles, was die Meere durchzieht. 10 HERR, unser Herrscher, groß ist dein Ruhm auf der ganzen Erde!
